With the cat donw, once we stop, heal up, etc. We can probably go back and do a better job of cleaning up the Huntsman. OR, we can run all the way back to Absalom and call it a day!

The eagle disappears as it returns to its home plane. Shoris casts another spell as he follows behind the rest of the party.
Casting unseen servant and trying to get it to close the door to the room where the skeleton is.

you flee for 4 rounds and the huntsman gives up chase. You are able to heal up and go back after him, taking him down. He has masterwork longsword, and other than that there really is no treasure. I quit my second job, and just finished my last set of doubles. We can and will finish this before the first. Unless you guys want to run all the way back to Absalom...

![]() |

I'm fine with trying to finish if you're going to be more available. I'd like to rest again for spells, if there are no objections.

![]() |

Objections or no, go ahead and rest. If we are going to finish, we are going to need to push.
Rowanna: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Parsnip: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Elenial: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Shoris: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Elenial notice a secret door halfway down the hall at the yellow indicator.
There are five carvings on the door that seem to be some sort of button. The carvings are all sphinxes, each with a different heard: a falcon head, a female human head, a jackal head, a male human head, and a ram head.
You have received a hint about this before...

Rowanna recast Mage Armor, took a bunch of summoning spells to hopefully help with the front line problem we seem to be having.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
"The buttons are all different types of sphinx, specifically hieracosphinx, gynosphinx, cynosphinx, androsphinx, and a crioshinx. Since we saw representations of hieracosphinxes earlier, I believe that's probably the correct button."
Rowanna waits a few moments for the input or objections from the others before pushing in the hieracosphinx.

Sorry, power was intermittent last two days... Foul weather seems to be behind us now though :)
I don't remember who, but one of you guys actually wanted your character to copy this down from the false tomb: The carvings depict, from top to bottom, a human man, a human woman, a ram, a jackal, and a
falcon.

"My friends, might I suggest that there does come a time where backing off is actually an option. Now, look I recognize you are all very experienced Pathfinders, and you want to complete the mission. I appreciate that. I really do, but it is also my experience that the deeper one goes into these things, the more stalwart the challenges, and we have had some difficulties already. I will go on if you all choose it, for I won't abandon you, but I, for one, vote we withdraw completely."

If they GM thinks we can be done by Friday, then it would appear that we are close to the conclusion of the scenario. Honestly, I feel invested in completing the scenario at this point and would just like to finish it.
Rowanna rethinks pushing in the hieracosphinx, and attempts to figure out the puzzle, pausing to respond to Parsnip, "One last door wouldn't hurt, would it Parsnip? We are Pathfinders, after all, we should finish our exploration."

![]() |

"Let's get to this last door. If we find an unbeatable undead we can still run. Hopefully."
I also like to finish the scenario as I can't replay it for PFS credit. But if more people are up to running away it's also fine for me.

Looking over the copy of the carvings, Rowanna quickly deduces what she believes is the correct order of buttons. She pushes androsphinx, then gynosphinx, followed by criosphinx, next is cynosphinx, while the last is hieracosphinx.
While pushing buttons she says offhandedly, "I believe you are the first pessimistic gnome I've ever met, Parsnip."

"Bleach out? What's that, the gnome word for getting old?" Rowanna asks with genuine curiosity.

The door opens!
Carvings cover the walls of this other wise bare chamber. There are two statues standing to either side of the doors on the opposite side.

Shoris whispers to the party: "Ah, guys, those statues represent the Ancient Osiran god of the dead, Anubis, and they're animated. So far, there not bothering us, but I'm not sure we can count on that continuing."

![]() |

"Animated statues, hmmm." Rowanna appears displeased, "After the problems we had with that pyramid construct, I'm not sure if we're well equipped to deal with this problem."

Elenial stares at the statues. "Well, maybe running away is not a bad plan."

Since statues don't tend to heal, we will be able to kill them eventually with summoned monsters, but who knows how long that'll take?

![]() |

We could try another a door and hope that the monster doesn't have hardness. Or just leave.
