Round 1
The monk will have moved in to smack one of the goblins with a tonfa, I believe they would be flatfooted this time
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
1d6 ⇒ 6 sneaky
and he will go into snake style

DoubleGold |

Manus kills another goblin, the hurt one
Then the goblins go, 1 fire off shortbow shots at Gray son hit: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (7) = 11 another one is dazed
and the other two double move just to get to Essa in melee, she misses horribly, Gray son finds his way down the tower easily and over the bushes, being as nimble as he is It would require and acrobatics check, but you can't possibly fail He gets flanking on a goblin and kills one in melee. Geez, I mind not even need a map this combat, it's over before it started, without a hero getting hit by a goblin, you all killed seven, and one of those is dazed.
Rest of the heroes for round 1 are up literally 3 goblins, one is dazed and going to do ranged, the other 2 are in melee

Elado channels the cold blood of the White Dragon and unleashes a Flurry of Snowballs on the remaining goblins.
Flurry of snowballs. 30ft cone. DC 15 reflex for half: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 1) + 4 = 15

DoubleGold |

Elados kills two goblins, even half damage, and dodging they can't survive, while his snowballs get two goblins, the last one just out of range. 1 goblin left that has taken 3 damage, and he is 40 feet away, or if you are on the tower looking over the bushes, 20 feet away, anyone with ranged can destroy him.

ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

DoubleGold |

And that goblin is dead as Ridley blasts it to smithereens. Are the alchemists bombs as loud as modern day bombs or guns or are they much quieter? I just happen to think about the loud noise level attracting nearby enemies.
perception: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (19) = 20 If they did hear it, it would take probably three rounds, and you also don't know what heard it or what the DC for them to hear it was. Ignore this perception check if the bombs aren't as loud as I think they are.
Okay, you find a little gold and the standard goblin weapons. Do you head over to the right where the middle path would have been, or do you go back the way you came and take the far right path?

![]() |

Vote for middle

DoubleGold |

Middle is fine. I always thought the bomb sound was more of a whoosh than a bang.
I was thinking the same thing, but it is called a bomb. I've also thought of Alchemists being the people of biowarefare and bio weapons don't make a lot of noise.
Okay so you all go the the middle. You can see some dogs through the bushes. They do bark at you, bark like a normal dog, not an aggressive bark, but they don't know who you are, or what you are, just that you are there. Cutting through the bushes will definitely set them off, they will thing you're a threat, going through path, south, then east, then north, you might be able to tame them. Although you could avoid them altogether. You see no goblins around, but you figure these are the goblins pets, and you ain't sure if there are more goblins in the field or not. You are certain they would side with the goblins, if they were told too, but it's a good thing you took out those 10 first.
![]() |

I have a scroll that would allow me to speak to the dogs, although I have feeling I know what they'll say. Surely some of you rural types know what to do here. The White Dragon doesn't concern itself with these lesser beasts. Elado dusts off his outer robes. His dragon tail pokes out the bottom of the robes from time to time. A curious sight on a human.

DoubleGold |

As Gray Son expends three trail rations and goes over to the dogs they calm down and wag their tales. They even give him lots of lickies. You could bring them with you, but I'd suggest you leave them here, if they see you get into a fight with some goblins, they'd turn on you in an instant.
Alright, who wants to lead the way south, this would have been the far right path.

![]() |

Essa nods in thanks to Grey son. "I was going to try, but food almost always works." She takes the lead down the southern path.

![]() |

Snowball: The spell snowball appears in Ultimate Wilderness, having undergone several more design passes as part of the development process for that book. The result is that the spell has changed school (evocation rather than conjuration), does not ignore spell resistance, and no longer staggers the target. While these changes bring the spell in line with 1st-level spell benchmarks, they may also impact characters who invested in maximizing the spell’s effects.
Resolving Snowball: Take the following steps.
If your character already has snowball as a spell known or recorded in a spellbook, make a one-time choice for that character whether to treat snowball as a conjuration spell or an evocation spell. For all other purposes, including spell resistance, use the updated spell description found in Ultimate Wilderness (also appearing in the Campaign Clarifications document for People of the North).
If your character has selected one or more character options specifically to interact with snowball (e.g. Rime Spell), you may retrain those options for free.
If your character has purchased one or more items specifically to interact with snowball (e.g. a lesser rime metamagic rod), you may sell those back at full cost.
Please make any changes within 1 month or by the next time you play your character, whichever is later. This should provide you a short window to avoid adjustments in case you have an imminent event or otherwise don’t have much time to consider your options.
