Darin the Cheerful |

Darin will poke at the body nearest to him with his morning star and, satisfied that he/she/it is dead, will try to determine what sect or cult they belong to.
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
He'll look up at the others in the room and clear his throat.
In his most authoritative tone he'll ask OK, who wants to tell me what's going on here?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Darin the Cheerful |

Could I take 20 with more time on my hands?

Darin the Cheerful |

The true sign of a mighty adventure: homework.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil turns his mutated features on the newcomer, trying to innunciate clearly through his twisted maw, "I think we were about to ask you who you were and why you followed us here, since you don't seem to be with them...." He points his flaming hand at the fallen corpses, "We're here because of the Cult. Found some of their work out there, didn't much care for it and came to give them the bad review in person."

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin grunts at the skewed pronunciation and looks at Tarin.
You've uh...got a little something there.
He uses his index finger to make a circle around his face.
And I didn't follow you anywhere. I got sent here by a holy vision that told me this region was in peril and my help was needed because apparently there weren't any Varisian clerics on tap.
He rolls his eyes skyward and makes a small gesture of propitiation with his left hand.
I've spent the last two weeks riding across half of Avistan to get here and frankly I'm concerned that as soon as I arrive where the vision sent me I'm attacked by crazies in black robes and masks.
He kicks the body at his feet irritably.
And of course they're a Cult. You know, once when I was an acolyte the Brewmaster I was training under was sent by a vision to judge a local ale tasting contest. We traveled three weeks to make it there. Frankly I'm a bit tired of getting shortchanged.
Finally he makes a short, half-mocking bow.
As for who I am, I am Darin Wintrish, son of Baldrick Bronze-belly and a humble cleric of Cayden Cailean. Now since you're here to confront this Cult specifically instead of being given overly vague directions by a no-doubt drunk diety, he makes that same hand gesture again, perhaps you could give me some background about what exactly is going on besides murderous loons springing out of the floor.

Valeria Vanessa Valdemar |

"Well...we have been tracking a group that had poisoned a noble near Sandpoint. All of our information has led us here and...well...I feel like we may have jumped into a skillet, but we apparently are capable of standing up to this heat. I just hope it's the right skillet," she trails off...

MiniGM |

BLAM!. SHHHHHHHSSSS
Suddenly there is a massive explosion of fire followed by a noxious cloud of gas
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 3, 6) = 23 fire damage ref 15 for half and the room is suddenly filled with a thick pea soup colored gas
Dc 15 fort or nauseated until 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 rds AFTER you get out of the cloud
Then I'll roll init

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 = 32
Fort: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 11 + 2 = 28
Tarinhil sees a streak of light shooting toward his companions and shouts, "Move!", his preternatural, mutated reflexes combined with the magic of his potion allowing him to leap away from the blast, only to feel the burning of noxious fumes. Poison... And a fairly spent one from the burn... Times like this I'm glad I'm an alchemist...

Valeria Vanessa Valdemar |

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Unalaq |

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for 7 so fire resistance will wipe that out
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Unalaq sucks in a lungful and begins puking his breakfast out.

Darin the Cheerful |

I hate this place.
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
By the grace of Cayden Cailean, Darin manages to avoid most of the blast and the worst effects of the gas remind him unpleasantly of the bean stew his father made.
Mini, do I have time to channel before we roll initiative? If so Darin will Channel Healing to the group for Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 for everyone and they get +2 AC for the first turn and +2 to attack if they charge from the Bravery Variant Channeling.
Darin looks for a way to escape the cloud.

Fernus Stonecall |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 12 fire damage to Fernus
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Fernus begins puking as well and tries to move as fast out of the cloud as possible at his turn.

Darin the Cheerful |

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
I think the floor below us is on fire. And I really would take my word for it.

Valeria Vanessa Valdemar |

Val will move as quickly as she can out of the cloud.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Mini, does Tarinhil remember a window or door up here from when he was scouting and could see?

Fernus Stonecall |

Ref Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Fernus falls short of evading the fireball blast and makes his escape out of the cloud.

Darin the Cheerful |

Is there a wall nearby or something we could smash through? Or could I remember the door to the south from earlier or how tall the stairs are? If so since I think the floor below is on fire I'll head to the door to try to escape the cloud, if not I'll head up. I think my five-foot step accidentally went through a wall so I assume I'm still in the room.
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Just made it for 8 damage
Channel Energy (Positive): 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 will burst out of Darin to help cover his new-found compatriots.

Darin the Cheerful |

Wisdom: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Darin remembers the room - also that there are some floorboards that need some sanding.

Darin the Cheerful |

After channeling Darin will retreat out the door to the south.
He'll try to exit the cloud if possible stopping as soon as he's cleared the room.

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin will take a deep breath before yelling at the rest of the group.
The cloud is spreading out across this floor! Can anyone summon winds to clear the cloud out?
Fortitude: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Pretty sure I'll be in the cloud again soon if not this turn.

Bear aka Orlog |

Bear brings out a scroll of Resists Energy and casts Resist Energy-Fire on himself.
Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 sees nothing
Wisdom 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 probably remembers the room
Go east or south and get to the other room. he then moves into the next room as far away from the fog as he can.
40' move due to longstrider.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 = 15 Whew. Yay Heroism!
Wis: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) - 1 + 2 = 9
Tarinhil scans the room, trying hard to remember the place... then smiles and nods at Bear's suggestion, Right, that's where things are.... then snickers when he realizes the druid probably can't see him, then flies south, out the door and into the larger room, looking for an escape, happy to take a deep breath that doesn't remind him of rotting reagents used for pranks back in Brastlewark.
False life is gone, 2 points of damage (after the 2 channels and the false life...)

Unalaq |

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Fails: Elemental resistance means I take 8 points fire damage, but the channels from Phooka and Darin heal him back to full.
This is Round 2 of his nauseated condition.
Wisdom: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Unalaq does not recall the layout of the room.
Between trying to suck for air and trying to get rid of his breakfast throughly, Unalaq chokes out "Can Bear break through a wall?"

Darin the Cheerful |

waiting on Valeria, going back to tally damage in a bit, I will bot her in a few hours. I trust you all have moved yourselves on the map, I will move Fernus
Doh! Knew I forgot something. I'm four squares south of the door in D4 if you can move me.

Darin the Cheerful |

In all fairness I got here at day 585, not day 1.

Darin the Cheerful |

I rolled last time out of the cloud for the spread I think? Should I roll again?
