I know sometimes players list a DC for other players to sense or hear what they are doing but I don't really like to do that unless there is an unambiguous DC so I'll generally just list my estimation of whether it's a low, medium, or high etc. DC and let anyone who's curious decide whether or not their check seems high enough to them. I feel like I'd be encroaching on GM privileges if I did anything to decide a DC.

I wanted to get all of your opinion/preference on how to handle things like Shea's spoilered conversation and Hollie's visions. I spoilered Shea's conversation as it only included one player and was potentially impactful on her character. The same could be said for Hollie's visions but as she had posted them openly in the past I followed suit. I would expect that these kind of things will happen in the future and this leads to my question.

Would you guys prefer to spoiler these kinds of things or have them available for everyone? The benefit of spoilering (in my mind) is that keeps players from having to seperate player vs character knowledge and allows the involved player to disseminate information or the effects of whatever happened as they see fit. It also keeps a bit of mystery about things.

The plus of having it in the open is it involves everyone in the story and the path of your fellow characters. It can also remove the need for characters to re-relate everything and can avoid them forgetting to mention something they would have said had their character actually spent the day with their companions (rather than just a quick post that covers a days worth of activity).

In the end I'm ok with either or even a mix if some would prefer a certain method for there characters and someone else would prefer the other. Regardless I'll still spoiler stuff from time to time especially when it might inform decisions players make in combat or other such time sensitive situations.

Anyway let me know what you guys think.

And as always keep up the great work. I'm loving all the character development!

Hey guys, I'm concerned Gritz might not be able to come back, for a while at least. Should we try to get another melee guy? I'd certainly love to see him come back but it wouldn't hurt us to have two front-liners, imo.

I agree. Though keep in mind Hollie’s next two levels will be in Paladin. So that’ll add some front line boost.

But I do think Matthias needs another Male in the group to even the genders up a bit ;-P

Yeah story seems preferable. I would kind of like to have some sort of front-liner to go alongside Drax. I'm a buffer build and I can't cast enlarge person on Drax so it'd be a minor cool thing for me to have someone to buff with the classic level 1 buff. Really not a big deal though.

Agreed about story over party balance. Also, the dependability factor of the player shouldn't be overlooked.

BTW - I was planning on having Shae take a level or four of fighter when it dawned on me that she's the second-biggest member of the party (not including Drax), which is a little scary.

Speaking of levels, go ahead and start leveling to second. If you would, in addition to updating your characters profiles, please also put a post in the discussion thread with the changes (+1 BAB, New spells, class abilities, etc). As far as the game storyline goes things will take effect with the dawn so you'd use current stats until then.

Hi all, a couple things....

1. Everyone should be level 2 now (with the new day comes a new level!)

2. Working with Hollie we've modified her to be a Paladin (Silver Champion) in which we're using an Eidolon rather than a drake. This seems to better fit the desired theme and character growth. I wanted to mention it in case anyone had any objections and to keep everyone up to date (we've dubbed the modified form a Mithral Champion in honor of Drax :)

3. I'm changing roles at work and for the next month am going to be pretty slammed as I do my new and old job at the same time. I'm not going anywhere but just mentioning it as my posting might suffer a bit (or at least become more evening focused). I'm loving this campaign though and hope you don't mind bearing with me for a bit.

Good time to discuss your "traveling through the dungeon standard procedure". In the interest of keeping things moving along I'd like to have a run down of how the party will act when not actively threatened. A marching order would be good as well as what you do when you come to an obstacle (such as a door).

If everyone is ok with it I'll just apply this and move the party through until something of interest occurs or becomes noticeable.

For basic dungeon crawls, Hollie and Drax will do the following:

1) Position at front of group (unless Shae is sneaky scouting, then she will take position 2).
2) Search the room, first for threats, then for anything of interest/use/value (in that order).
3) Take up position at the most likely entrance point for threats to protect team.

Before going through doors Jess will help Shae check for traps/locks and assist her with disabling as needed, if she can. Otherwise, Jess will also search the rooms as they go. She will thus likely be in the 3rd spot or so marching order wise.

Also, as a side note, with our level up i have precise bombs so I can exclude up to 4 squares from splash damage now. Be ready to see more bombs going off around people :D

Shae can scout ahead of the party. Once she gets her heavy darkwood shield, she'll be AC 21! Plus, she'll almost certainly be taking trap spotter as her rogue talent next level.

A note on the map, this is always an odd one as the Glassworks runs at an angle. The map we're using is nice as it's been shifted to run straight but North and "Up" don't line up (as far as how the Glassworks sits an on actual map of Sandpoint). Regardless, for simplicity's sake, during this bit of adventure we'll make the top of the map North, the left side West and so on.

As for the map and directions...seeing the world change to suit her whims makes Shaedeen happy. All is as it should be! ;)


Quicker than intended post to explain my absence lately:

1. Kid: he’s okay, but been battling a virus for about a week and a half. Finally been symptom free for about two to three days.

2. Work: still working as much OT as I can grab.

3. Wife Aggro: anytime I so much as THINK I have free time to post, she uses her super-wife-mind-reading-powers to come up with something for me to not have free time. As is, I’m hiding in the bathroom to post this to all my games. Example 2, today was secretly planned to be a big day of relaxation and posting. She and the kid were supposed to be at school. Instead, she wanted me to keep the kid. Reason: just because.

4. Interviews: been to multiple interviews lately trying to get into a better job that will require less OT. No such luck so far, with one last major option within my hospital in process. Low odds of getting picked. May have to start looking outside of my facility.

I’m PLANNING on tomorrow being my 1 “me day” in the past few weeks and getting some posts caught up. We will see how that goes.

Found it, my damage is currently 2d6+4, it is because of the Gnome Alternate racial trait:

Pyromaniac:
Gnomes with this racial trait are treated as one level higher when casting spells with the fire descriptor, using granted powers of the Fire domain, using the bloodline powers of the fire elemental bloodline or the revelations of the oracle’s flame mystery, and determining the damage of alchemist bombs that deal fire damage (this ability does not give gnomes early access to level-based powers; it only affects the powers they could use without this ability). Gnomes with Charisma scores of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, flare, prestidigitation, produce flame. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome’s level; the DCs are Charisma-based. This racial trait replaces gnome magic and illusion resistance.

So my bombs advance damage 1 level earlier than the standard alchemist.
