That is a shame. I'll miss playing with him.
Well, that brings our group down to just 4 (with Flitter still MIA). Before continuing on I guess I should pose the question to the remaining party members: Do you want to continue with just a small group, or momentarily pause to refill up to 5 or 6?

Gorgoron |

It is a shame.
Well, we're left with a Sorcerer, a Cleric, a Fighter, and a Bard. That gives us an Archanist, a Healer, a Warrior, and a Skill Monkey, which is an uncommonly well balanced party... I'd be fine with it either way myself. PbP does lend it self very well to a slightly larger group, like 6, but it is by no means necessary.
I'd be fine pressing on with our 4 on the hope that Flitter reemerges, though that may be a scant hope, since it's been almost two months since his last post, under any alias.

Gorgoron |

Got something against Dwarves, Elf-boy?

Gorgoron |

Pretty much Gorgorn other than you and one in my other game most dwarves I have played with are either to quick to fight or to quick to get drunk.
Also AM BARBARIAN owned someone in another thread go AM BARBARIAN.
Ah, yah. I'm not big on stereotypes either. Particularly stereotypidwarf. Which is why I follow Sarenrae and use a scimitar. Gorgoron is more of the salt of the earth, hardworking type.

Ringtail |

So it looks like we have a "4 is fine", an "either way is cool", and a "wouldn't object if another fighter/healer wanted to get pummeled on the front line". We'll see how Alyoma feels and then move on from there.
I may not be around tomorrow. I have an appearently severe infection of my left ring finger causing it to be swollen, unbelievably painful, and turning colors that flesh ought not be while still alive. Once the fevers kicked in I decided that I'd see a doctor for the first time outside of an ER in 12 years rather than try to lance it myself. So first thing in the morning I get to track down the cheapest doctor I can find in absence of a free clinic. I'm not sure how long it will take, but typing isn't currently a pleasant experience anyway.

Ringtail |

Yeah poor Ringtail has stuff like this happen to him from time to time.
*Sigh* It really, really does. I'm a very unlucky, very unhealthy person (defective gallbladder, arrhythmic heart) and I generally avoid doctors due to my severe allergies to penicillian based antibiotics and latex.

On an unrelated note...
Here is a prototype for my guide.
It does not have feats, rage powers, or equipment done yet.
I would appreciate feedback, but I would also appreciate keeping this on the down-low for the moment.
Because I am keeping it on the down-low.

Ringtail |

Exciting; guides are always entertaining to read. I got half-way through writting a guide to the sorcerer when 2 things happened.
1. I realized I hated the class.
2. Ultimate Magic came out and I couldn't afford a copy.
But anyway:
Great opening image, bro! ;)
*Shakes fist at Netflix* On the complete series of that show they had the episode before he died uploaded twice in a row, accidently skipping the episode of his death. It was very confusing on my first pass through.
And I'll definately keep it on the down-low. AM SHUTTING PIE HOLE, as it were.

Hey I like armored hulk but I have a thing with heavy armor I also have a thing for two handed weapons. Otherwise seems cool to me. As for the down-low I do not really talk about guides much.
Armored Hulk isn't bad for having a high armor class.
The problem is, if you're raging and using Come and Get Me, that's a -6 to your AC already.
If you have Reckless Abandon on top of that (And Reckless Abandon is awesome so you probably want it), that's another -4 at 12th, when CAGM kicks in. That makes -10 AC... I can't make AC relevant at that point, and the AC bonus is the big upside of Armored Hulk.

Ansruath |

Is that with out Beast Totem right? I thought beast Totem was well mandatory so you could get pounce.

Including beast totem, it counterbalances to -6 AC. That's still really problematic considering you're relying on just armor (Because shields are for pansies and TWF Fighters)

Best of luck with your health, Ringtail. (Although I am sad you hate my class (;_;) ).
I guess I should've put: "I hate playing the class."
It is a mighty fine class and good at what it does, but much like bard, it is not the class for me. I have a lot of fun with resource management and thus prefer prepared spell casters to spontaneous ones. Mainly, though, I like skill points, and the sorcorer does not offer these to me as a 2+INT class. Wizards are INT based so they slip by, and my fighters try to perch around a +1 modifier to hit the expertise tree if they fell like it, but since I generally want a decent modifier in Knowledge (arcana) and Spellcraft and just about always cap Perception, this leaves little in the way of other skill without a decent investment in INT.
I should note, however, that the sage sorcerer has turned me around on this a bit.
Got antibiotics for my finger today. The swelling and pain should be notably improved by Saturday (if not it will be lanced). That means I may have a second hand to type with again as soon as tomorrow evening. Forgive me if I don't post again until this weekend though, it is slow going.

Ringtail, old chap,
Glad to hear your finger, and sorry you can't have more fun with likeable spellcasters. In any case, the game I'm about to start up over here is a RotRL game for a party of 6, and since you seem to pretty savvy when it comes to game design (and you seem to be running at least two RotRL games at the moment), I was wondering, if it wouldn't be too crass after backing out of this game, if I could get some advice from you on updating the adventure?

Ringtail |

...if I could get some advice from you on updating the adventure?
No problem. Though I'll have little to post currently since I'm stuck typing with only 1 hand until I take the binding off the other to check on it later this weekend so posting is painfully slow. Most important peice of advice though; be prepared to be frustrated with Hook Mt. Massacre's conversion and be ready to gut the book- I've undegone a complete revision of it myself. And follow it with Curse of the Riven Sky. The pace of the AP is more or less a sprint to level 16, much too fast for most parties I've ran for to get comfortable with a PC before leveling up, so take advantage of prebuilt works to add in side quests if various natures like the foray into the brinestump with the firework wielding goblins written before WE BE GOBLINS was released!!!(there is a plethora of community created material such as Chopper's Isle and Night at the Opera that are free and great with minor tweaking). Change the pace of the secret DM subplot, otherwise minor friends and foes come and go quickly withtout recursion in a very unsatisfying manner. My email is at the start of the thread and I can go into more detail on the portions of the adventure this party hasn't yet visited.
EDIT: Hah! That paragraph only took me half an hour!

Ringtail |

In case anybody wants to know what happens at a hospital if you get a sore that turns black and necrotic; it turns out that they lance it, drain it, keep you overnight to make sure no complications occur, tell you to stay on the antibiotics you've been taking since Thursday night, and discharge you in the morning with a rather expensive bill and instructions to check back in with a doctor if the situation gets any worse. Now to fill out paperwork to apply for financial aid to help cover the medical bills. My finger isn't pretty, but at least it doesn't look like it has a golf ball shoved beneath the skin or is about to fall off anymore.

Gorgoron |

Hey Gorgoron, I've been wondering... Are there sometimes large gulfs of time between your posts because you have an ingrown toenail? An evil ingrown toenail?
That sounds like a reference to some inside joke, but I'm afraid if it is, it is over my head. I'm fortunate enough to have never experienced an ingrown nail. If there are gaps in my posts (and I thought I was pretty consistent in my posting) it is likely because I often post at work, on breaks and such, and because I get busy at home. I work in a hospital as a therapist consulting to various psychiatric wards, so how much free time I have at work tends to vary according to how many people decided to go crazy in that particular week. At home, I have a two year old son who loves attention, and a very pregnant wife who loves attention even more ;).
Speaking of which, we ae getting some early labour signs today, so it's looking like baby may be coming by tomorrow. For that reason, I may be out of contact for a bit, if it does happen.
Ringtail, best of luck with your recovery!

Ringtail |

Apparently the best way to speed recovery of a rotting infection is to cut it open and drain out the alarming colored fluid that frightens me that it came out of a human body (not to mention the volume of it *shudders*).
And before I forget: Congratulations, Gorgoron.

Ringtail |

I haven't moved on yet with the because I assumed some healing would occur. Gorgoron's wife must have spawned a future gamer. Since I think Ansruath is the one with the most damage perhaps the decision should fall to him on whether or not to press forward right away or give it a bit longer. And perhaps this lull in activity would be a decent time to find a new recruit.

Gorgoron |

Actually, we had a false start, but the new gamer has not yet spawned. We're getting a bit impatient of course. It was the same with our first child. My mind has been elsewhere than the game, admittedly; I haven't been checking in as much lately.

Thaddeus Pruitt |

This is Delia from the CC game.
I hope you don't mind me just jumping into the discussion thread, but I thought it better than carrying on in the CC discussion.
This is a character I built for a JR campaign that only made it to the first encounter. He is a LG Magus, who fancies himself a Priest of Iomedae. He was born and raised in Sandpoint.
What are the Char Gen rules, so that I may update him? I could make a new character if everyone would prefer, but I would like to see this one played out.

Ringtail |

To glaze over the loss of Dehrisan and the eventual gain of Thaddeus, would any in the group object to me having Dehrisan simply run back to Sandpoint for additional aid (and to see if Shalelu has shown up yet), sending Thaddeus (and maybe another if we round the group back out to 6 in Flit's absence) when he's ready to jump in?
I'm going to go ahead and do so, but if there are any objections, just let me know, and he can pop back in and I'll NPC him until there is a 5th member in the group again.
