Sorry for missing the last few days. Had a work conference that went late into the evening on Thursday and tabletop game (Kingmaker) last night that went till 230AM.

Ancient Invaders - Post Combat Summary

Defeated: 4 Frost Skeletons. The are worth 200xp each which means the group earns 160xp per player. This moves your cumulative total to 1964/2000 or 96% of the way to level 2. Should bump up on next encounter, so start prepping for it.

This weekend has completely drained me--moved yesterday and transported two truckfuls of mulch today, but I will be back to normal tomorrow night.

Added to your list. That does put you over into Medium encumbrance when you add the weight of the weapon and ammo. You'll have to make a bunch of Spellcraft checks to read the spells at DC 20, or you can imagine you memorized Read Magic as one of your cantrips today, if that, which one is out?

I'd have switched out light for read magic. Examining the book can wait until the next day. I had forgotten we had a spellbook to look through.

I took a level in ranger. I think I said in the back story of his family giants raided the area of the Linnworm Kings where he is from so I took fav enemy giants.

Given what we have been through thus far Ruso has a learned to be more evasive, gotten batter at making his way across narrow surfaces and ice, and has started picking up bits of the Orc language from Semik by listening to him grumble when he thinks no one is paying attention.


Since he's going to be fighting with a bunch of pale-skins who can barely see, Semik has learned light (and detect undead as his mystery spell). Nothing else of note until channeling at level 3.

Added rapid shot, BAB and saves boosted.

Got it. The only difference I see between your sheet and mine is the breastplate you chose to wear, increases your ACP from -1 to -4, so things like Swim and Climb are affected. The AC has helped you a few times since, though.

Yes that's the list for today if I'm allowed to have my level 2 spells before sleeping again.

Got it. Fixed, added breastplate and wolf cloak to inventory


The spellbook has the following spells in it: Alarm, Chill Touch, Expeditious Retreat, Feather Fall, Identify, Locate Object, and Ray of Enfeeblement.

You can load them to your familiar, but must follow the protocol and incur the expense.

Alright I'll work on getting that figured out and set up.


Unfortunately, I will be leaving the game. I have not been having fun for a while now, and my efforts to change that have failed. At the very least, I can finish the current fight. I would be willing to stick around a couple of weeks longer though, if there is a good plot point coming up soon for introducing Semik's replacement.

I hate to add to the problem, but I am finding myself quite overloaded at the moment (and for the next month or two at least), and need to start dropping out of a few games. I can muddle through for a bit, but I am afraid I won't be able to keep up the pace. So, if you look for 1 replacement, might as well make it two.

I thank you for the game, and intended to push through to the end, but work and home responsibilities have ramped up and have just got me slammed.


Certainly don't want you to have to continue if you aren't having fun, or if you are overloaded. We can finish this fight, and pause will we assess to continue or look for replacements.

Is everyone else keen to continue or should we consider folding the tent?

Personally, I would like to continue. I would like to ask one favor though if I may. Could we increase the posting pace to once per day and at least once on the weekends so that we might keep things moving along?

I understand the constraints that others have on their time or their level of enjoyment with the game and wish them well in future games.


My own posting rate has been slowed by running three games of Outpost, which are now over. I should be able to commit to once per day, and per weekend unless circumstances permit going forward.

I want to continue. I'm keen on at least staying through the 2nd book but that might be a while :) I'm willing to stick with the fighter type role. I'm taking one more level in ranger maybe.

I did hear from Qwerty and asked him to make a PC for us in Recruitment. Do you all want to go back to 5 or 6, or stick at 4? I am partial to smaller groups, but inevitable attrition hurts in groups of 4. You decide.

5 is ok.

But personally I'm weary on increased ELs and time drag. But you're the GM :) but I understand a lot of the frustration is with time. Ive never done a whole AP or even one book in an AP via Pbp so I can't directly say.
