A PbP adventure going through the Reign of Winter AP.
Currently inside the Pale Tower
Hi all,
Just wanted to let everyone here know that I'm thinking about running a PbP that would combine the Age of Worms adventure path (converted to Pathfinder and imported to Golarion) mixed with some other Paizo modules, and would also use the new Mythic rules. I don't really want to open up recruiting to the masses, and I've been really impressed with the game play so far here, so I thought I'd open it up to this group first. Anybody interested in this?
LG Divine Hunter 2
I'd absolutely be interested - doubly so if we get some players from this seriously excellent group.
Although I'm very interested, I think I've got enough on my plate right now. Thanks for asking, though!

I'm not familiar with the Age of Worms AP, so that far I'd be interested. However...
I've just told a friend who wants to start using Mythic rules in our newly minted tabletop group that it would happen only over his bloody and dismembered corpse (in a friendly way). We trialled the playtest Mythic rules for a one shot game not all that long ago, and I did not like them even one bit.
Therefore, I thank you for the offer, but I don't think anything with the word 'Mythic' in it is my cup of tea.
Using Mythic was simply something I was toying with, so if that's a dealbreaker for you we definitely don't have to do it. I'm much more excited about Age of Worms than the Mythic rules.

I'm not familiar with Age of Worms, and I haven't read the Mythic rules yet so I have no actual opinion on either, but I could be interested in another game.

I might be interested as well, but I can't make any promises at the moment as real life keeps me pretty busy all the time.
I decided to open it up to recruiting here, and any of you who would like to apply will get preferential treatment haha so feel free! And thanks GM for letting my highjack the discussion thread for a bit!

I've posted there under my main handle (The Great Rinaldo!). Will put something together today/tonight.

Me too as Barvo Delancy. No clue what I want to play yet.

C'mon Yagello, get out of the water already, unless you like drowning and hypothermia as a means of character death... :)
I'll post for Yagello later today if he doesn't post by then. It's not like he's got a lot of options. :)
Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20
Sorry guys for the delay in posting. I was working late last night, and today I'm been sick all day in bed with a high fever and vomiting. At least it won't be hard to roleplay Yagello's shivering condition... :P

Er, I don't have any ranks in Knowledge (planes). The only skills I have ranks in are indicated by a "1+X". Hm, although that is a bit confusing, looking at the sheet. I guess I really shouldn't have those others there.

It looks like there are two sets of icy faces, one upstream and one downstream. Is that right? Your description made it seem like there was only one, and it hadn't quite reached us yet.

Thanks for the well wishes guys! I'm not quite 100% yet, but it's amazing how therapeutic bed rest can really be! I'm already feeling a lot better.
Yeah, take it easy Yagello, I'm sure the rest of the heroes will take if from here (smiles evilly). Seriously, though, if you need to take a day off, don't worry about it!
Arkady, sorry that my description was a bit inconsistent. There are indeed two faces approaching from either direction, one upstream, and one downstream.
Daegan - ah, I just skimmed and did not notice the ranks in the other skills. Well I guess the party is a bit short on making Knowledge (Planes) checks then!

I'll second that! Nice hit and well played my friend. :)

Well the dice roller likes someone at least! :D Actually the dice roller seems to like me fine. I think more accurately it just really hates Arkady.

It truly does. *sadface*
Also, my dad is visiting AND it is PAX weekend (I begged him to pick another weekend, but this was when he wanted to come ...) so my posting may be a bit sporadic for the next few days.
Yes, at this point I almost feel like Arkady is some kind of doomed prophet, with all his divination able to see what is coming before anyone else, but the bad luck to run into any and all problems anyways!
I am a bit busier this weekend than expected. I will try and post an update soon, though. Thanks for your patience.
Sorry for the delay. I had to stay with a family member at the hospital. Everyone is okay, thankfully, but it meant it took a bit longer to make that last post that I normally would!

Glad to hear that your family is okay. As for the delay, no worries - all of us get hit by unexpected events sometimes.
Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20
No problem, GM. Family always comes first. :)

Yep! Just happy to hear that everyone is fine. I expected things to be slow for PbP over the long weekend anyways.

Good to hear everyone is okay. I'm just back from PAX, so didn't even notice the delay. ;-)

I just wanted to let everyone know I have a work related function today that'll keep me out of the house for most of the day. I probably won't be able to post until after 8 or 9 pm EST at the earliest.
Sorry about the mistake on Fascinate. I didn't read it carefully enough (though I can't say it's abundantly clear). Good to know for the future though!
Yeah, I've read that description dozens of times and I only caught it while looking up what actions would disrupt fascinate.
Just a heads up that I am working on a large map of the Sentinel Lodge, along with a description of what the party can observe from afar. I plan on posting approximately 24 hours after my last post.
In the meantime, feel free to describe your characters scheming with each other, or describing their methods of observation (if they are looking for anything in particular, for example).

Heading out to a game day, won't be able to post again until very late or tomorrow morning.

He forces the pain out of his mind, knowing the doorway must be blocked before their enemies overwhelm them. He strides through the thick snow, moving as fast as he can. During his move, he drops the short bow and draws his elven curve blade.
Double move through difficult terrain to X-8.
Okay, now I'm confused - your previous IG post strongly suggested that Yagello did not want Growler blocking the doorway. Now you're suggesting that you wanted her to remain there? %o
Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20
Sorry for the confusion, Aishe! Yagello was grunting from being hit by the arrow not from seeing Growler retreat. His plan all along was the block the doorway; He just felt he was better equipped to do so than the wolf. Don't forget he is a little protective of females... :P

If it helps, I really appreciate the irony that our fortune-teller has the worst luck.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just going to be a RNG joke for the whole campaign ... ;-)
Aishe Grynne wrote: If I had known about the flank trick when I chose Growler's training, it would have been included, but at the time it didn't appear in Hero Lab. Aishe - I'm okay with you changing Growler's tricks for free (one time only), if there is something you'd like to swap. I don't want to unfairly penalize you for this!
Arkady Szriakou wrote: I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just going to be a RNG joke for the whole campaign ... ;-) Hopefully it's just because Arkady is out of his element. His northern ancestry should kick in some kind of luck as things get colder, right? ;)

I also suffer from the "Wizards can't do very much at 1st level" problem, compounded by having picked a school that isn't focused on offense. I'm hoping to be more useful as things pick up. ;-)
Yes, things will get quite interesting with the divination spells. I'm sure there will be a point where I'll be scrambling to figure out what an obscure NPC should be doing when he/she thinks no one is watching. ;)

However Aishe is still close to helpless once she's out of spells.

Since I'm done for the count for a bit, it's given me a chance to think my actions over in that last combat. I think I got a little cocky engaging the half-orc bandit on my own before Cervin and Daegan had disengaged from their battles. Oh well, live and learn.
I did have one question for the GM and the group as a whole. Yagello's favored enemy is humans, but I didn't take my bonus against the half-orc. I don't think it would have mattered with some of my rolls, but should I have gotten a bonus? She is half-human as well, I guess.
Yes, favored enemy (humans) applies to half-orcs (and half-elves as well, if that ever comes up).
If you would have gotten some hits in as a result of this, let me know and I can apply the damage retro-actively if it's easy to do so.

If successful, damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 In my second attack, the updated results would have 16 to hit and 10 hit points of damge.
Since she's fighting defensively, it wouldn't have been enough to hit her anyways. Oh well!
