I do believe it's either the lich's turn or Keaton's, though I don't remember which at the moment... ;P

Gah! Yes, I lost track. Thanks. :)

Varhonnen smiled as he dropped a pellet on the ground.

Activating a 'deeper darkness'

He drew the shadows back around himself and swung at Kar with a hammer of shadows.

Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

The damage is less because he has less shadow to draw from this time.

Male Human Mutant/12

Kar retailiates against the Lich, in time with the slash of light from the magic that Tam surrounded him with. Taking slashes at him with his claws, he takes the oppertunity to take a bite out of the enemy.

Ok, so Sunmantle hits him for 5 pts, then Kar's swinging all out, 4 claws and a bite.

Claw attacks (1d20+17=33, 1d20+17=24, 1d20+12=23, 1d20+12=25) Totals are, 33, 24, 23, 25

Bite attack (1d20+17=37) crit, but I assume he's immune.

Claw damages (3d6+10=21, 3d6+10=21, 3d6+10=20, 3d6+10=21) Totals are, 21, 21, 20, 21.

Bite Damage (2d8+8=12)

]Kar's attacks once more rip through the mantle of shadows and into the lich himself. He stands, but barely, one of his arms hanging uselessly where it was almost torn from his body.

Varhonnen chuckles. "Interesting. I shall remember this for next time."

The lich is still there, but he's at about 6 hp, so not for long. :)

Time to incinerate him then!

Not wanting something to happen to her precious garden, Adsila has her newest creations fire everything they've got at the lich.

Fireseed 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage:8d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 1) = 26

Fireseed 2:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Damage:8d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 1, 4, 3, 2, 2) = 21

*Grins*
Addy can be mean! Guess she a rose with thorns, huh?

All of their seeds gone, the flowers seem to collapse in on themselves, and wilt as the become small enough to hold easily.

The lich burns away under the onslaught of Adsila's plants, grinning all the while.

Keaton leans against his hammer as he watches the lich turn to ash.

"You realize of course, that we're going to be seeing him again? Liches aren't the easiest things to get rid of. It was nice to get a little excercise though."

"Well, since the kiddies are safe, I'm going to back to my reading."

His form darkens until his is nothing more thatn a shapeless shadow again, vanishing into the garden and then heading to the attic.

The earth rumbles as the wall Ryo created sinks back into the ground, and he dusts himself off as he picks up his Earth card. He walks back into the wards.

"Like Keaton said, we're going to be seeing that guy again, but we'll be better prepared next time, now that we've seen him. I'm guessing it's lich research time?"

"Along with time to try and figure out where all these kids are from so that we can take them home."

Male Human Mutant/12

Kar whimpers a bit, and his form begins shedding it's fur and decreasing in size. His bones reform and his body soon resembles the one that they saw earlier in the day. The pants that he borrowed lie in tatters, but a pair of shorts have replaced them.

Grabbing the shirt off the ground, he quickly puts it back on. Looking up at them all.

"Ummm....I'm sure that we have more pants around here somewhere. You know there has got to be some way to enchant fabric so it won't rip up every time you do that."

Male Human Mutant/12

"Well I'm not exactly rolling in gold." Kar says, sheepishly, "The shorts alone cost me more than I usually make in a few years. And so far most of my loose change has gone to buying my self-defence items, though they are just as useful for offense." He says.

"Well, now you know. I'm a shapeshifter." Kar says, "I can appear as..." He says, his form flowing slightly until he appears quite alike to the appearance of Tam. "Just about whatever I like."

"Okay, don't do that again. That's...disconcerting. But the shapechanging thing is cool. I'm surprised your clothes don't transform with you. Mine always do." She shrugged. "Probably just different types of changing."

"Anyways, we really do need to get you some better pants. Money's not really a problem. You could consider it a loan if you like. A....a friend of ours who isn't around anymore...he did that for me. Loaned me the money I needed to buy adventuring type equipment. It took a lot less time to pay it off than I expected."

Male Human Mutant/12

Kar smiles at how unconcerned they are, "Hehe, you'll be really disturbed when I look like you!"

Looking back at the house, "That would be good. My shapechanging isn't a magical thing. I don't know how I can do it, I just always have been able too. Maybe you can use some of that stuff you had earlier and find out how. My clothes have never changed, that's why I usually carry more, but I found myself without." He says, smiling sheepishly.

She tilted her head as if considering that thought. "I'm not sure you could. An interesting conundrum. But possibly useful if we were ever trying to fool someone."

"Anyways, you're kinda stuck with us now, since the guy we just fought probably just went to tattle everything he learned. You don't have any problems with the idea of nanites, do you? Teeny tiny robots you can't see with the naked eye? Cause I bet I can make you some self repairing fabric. The clothes would still get ripped up, but at least they'd put themselves back together too. It should at least do until we can get you something magical."

She bit her lip. "I want to trust you, Kar. I really do. But it's not just my life I'm gambling with. And I'm not sure you wouldn't just freak out. I'll think about it some more. You'll probably find out the truth eventually anyways. Wow. That's got to be surreal for you. You're probably usually the person giving that speech. Well, except for the not just me part. Unless there are other shapeshifters like you that you need to protect. But it sounded before like you were pretty much alone."

She rubbed her forehead. "Sorry. I get a little incoherent when I'm tired."

TGIF all...

"It looks like Master Quo and your mother have the rest well in hand," Tam says as he lands next to Aananda. When his full weight is back on the ground, he wobbles slightly, his arms shaking almost imperceptibly.

"Whew - guess I need to pace myself with those kind of spells until I get used to this new body," he says, shaking his head as he holsters his Caster.

"Not to cut off the conversation too abrupbly, but we should probably go make sure the injured kids are okay."

You forgot the "t" in abruptly. Guess it's a good thing you've got that Caster, huh? I don't want to think about you and verbal components right now!

"Come on brother," Ryo says as he grabs Tam's arm to keep him steady. "Let's go see if Raz has some of that wonderful blue drink made." He pauses. "We should also make sure none of the kids have a different hair color..."

"Hair color?" she asked confused.

Male Human Mutant/12

Kar looks at her skeptically for a moment at the mention of tiny robots. "If it works and won't hurt me then I guess I'm ok with it." Kar says.

"I don't mind hanging around for awhile. I don't have anyone else, not anymore." Kar says, "I know it's hard to trust a shapeshifter, especially one like me, but I hope you can learn to trust me. I'm not a bad guy."

"Oh, they won't hurt you, I promise."

"Huh? No, it isn't the shapeshifter thing. Actually, that's a point in your favor. You might actually understand a little. And I don't think you're a bad guy. I just have to be really careful about who knows the truth."

The children all appear to be perfectly normal kids. What little coherent speech can be gotten from them indicates that they were all stolen from the nearby town.

Male Human Mutant/12

"The truth?" He says confused, "Look, if you don't want to tell me I don't want to know, whatever it is it's deeper than I usually like to get."

Aananda wrote:
"Hair color?" she asked confused.

"I think Razzy was trying to make a hair dye, and it may or may not have need to be ingested. Given that you give people who have been shocked something to drink... I'm sure he didn't though, it was just a thought."

narrator wrote:

"See? Same hair color as when we brought them in."

"At the very least we know where they came from. I can take them home once they recover enough to give me an address. I'm going to suggest they stay at the loacl temple until things are settled. People can't be taken from there unless they want to be. Of course, that won't stop him from..."

"Okay, right, don't tell the guy who doesn't like to get involved cause he can't take any more rejection. Got it."

"Wow. That sounded harsh. I'm sorry. That did not come out the way I intended it."

She sat down abruptly. "Something's wrong."

She started vomiting.

Tam grabs the nearest bucket, gets Aananda's ponytail out of the way and then throws some cleanse cantrips on her and the floor.

"What is it? Does something feel different? What's wrong...?"

Aananda couldn't answer any questions due to continued vomiting.

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

A concerned Ryleh checked on her daughter.

"I'm not really sure what's going on since I'm not a doctor. If I had to guess I'd say that the medicine the doctor gave her wore off and now she's experiencing the full aftereffects of having gone through the portal. But I'd feel a lot better if we had some way to ascertain for sure if there was anything actually wrong."

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

When she doesn't stop, he looks quickly around the room.

"Adsila? Have you got any healing magic in your druidic bag of tricks that could help her?" as he starts feeling around in his Haversack with his free hand to see if he had anymore nausea medicine...

Vomits more.

Master Quo rounds up the children and gets them into another part of the house, preferably one that wasn't filling up with dragon vomit.

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

Cursing to himself briefly, Tam switches to looking in Aananda's pouches and finds a small pack of transdermal nausea patches. He tears one open and slaps it on her arm, activating it.

"It's alright baby, we're gonna get this to stop..." O.o

I hope :)

The vomiting slows down as the medicine works its way into her system. It takes about ten minutes for it to stop completely, and Aananda looks pale and exhausted.

Male Elf (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 6 / Arcane Gunslinger 6

"Okay, I think we need to get you back to bed. I'll get them to whip something up in the kitchen to get some fluids and energy back into you," Tam says as he waits with her a few more minutes to make sure she is good to move, then helps her out of the chair and back upstairs to their room.

Happy Weekend All :)

Ryleh Her usual mode of dress.

"Is this excessive vomiting common among humans?" she asked, concerned. "Presuming any of you actually know?"

"It isn't technically common, but I know some infections can cause it. Hard as it is to believe with someone like Aananda, food poisoning can do it too. Of course, she may have picked up a bug while we were... traveling. Her immune system might not have been able to handle it."

"I can send for a doctor right away."

"I think that may be necessary, but I am...concerned. Medical exams may reveal some of her non-human traits. Be sure that this is someone you can truly trust to be discreet."

"I don't know how far doctor-patient confidentialality can go before it breaks... We may not be able to find any at all that are willing to overlook her 'differences'. Her kind aren't liked in Agartha, something I couldn't understand before and saddens me now. Doctor's have skilled minds too, which means I may not be able completely remove memories they'll have of her..."

Razzy hides just around the corner. He knew Aananda was sick and that it had to be something serious. Anything that made her trow up the food she put away so fast... he shudders as he pushes that thought away. Whatever was wrong with her was surely beyond his abilities. He could handle cuts and similiar injuries easy enough -his fellow guttersnipes had given him enough pratice- but he hadn't even been able to set a broken bone, and this was far different from a break...

But if a normal doctor could put her in dager just by treating her, he had to try.

"Um.. I could try to figure out what is happening. If I could find out what was wrong, could we ask a doctor how to treat instead of having one come here?"

Let's hope I roll high on the Heal check, I'm not going to put my hopes on a +4 alone...

"I...am not sure if that would work. But it might be worth trying. She was fine until we went through the portal. But their doctor did scans and found nothing wrong. He only gave her anti-nausea medicine. Perhaps he missed something? Or perhaps I am missing something. I am still not very familiar with what is and isn't normal when it comes to human physiology."

Urgh....

Quite Male Halfling

In Doc Zeppler's defense, if it was something medical he would have caught it. That halfling may be a bit of a womanizer, but he is still very good at what he does, which is why his services are retained by the Order. And, being from the Empire, he has pretty extensive knowledge about draconic physiology and medicine, as well as the ins and outs of alternate forms.

Just sayin'.... ;)

lol. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Zeppler's diagnosis. There's two things going on for real. One, dragons don't usually get morning sickness, but humans do. And two, she's having a bad reaction to having to use a portal made with chronomancy while wearing an amulet that protects her from all time based effects. Neither of which are things Ryleh would understand, so naturally she's feeling a bit panicked. :)

Yep yep - I figured it was the morning sickness thing more than anything else (though I admittedly forgot about the amulet's connotations for that sort of thing).

[Sigh] Still too much on my mind right now to keep track of all of this.... :D

This is funny to me. How many people in this house are actually "human"? I'm not even sure Master Quo qualifies... ;)

Master Quo is human. Just....old as the hills....yeah, that does start looking a little suspicious. :) Hmmmmm......er, yeah, well....so we don't really have a lot of actual humans present.

So, to get things moving again, I'm assuming that Razule can find a medical textbook of some kind. DC 5 Heal to pinpoint morning sickness as a probable cause of the vomiting provided he can overcome his selective hearing long enough to figure out she's pregnant. ;)

The sickness is more severe than it should be. DC 25 Spellcraft check to notice the amulet acting a bit funny.

The rest of the info would require a medical scanner of some form.

"Um...hello? What about m.....crap. Nevermind...."

"Frakkin' ears...." :)

At this point, it's actually become selective-memory. ;)

Nodding as he leaves the room, Razule heads for the medical section(a newly added section, an addition prompted by memory and common-sense) and begins his search.

Heal:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Oh.. my.. Alchemy. It seems I've also had time to go to my lad and make up something to settle her stomach.

He returns about 10 minutes later, carrying a book and small cup.

"Okay, turns out is isn't serious. This little drink I whipped up should help, but it's probably not going to remove the morning sickness entirely. And, believe it or not, there may be some foods that will make you sick if you see or smell them."
