"That will be good, Mother. If he left even a small portion of the fallen dragon I can potentially restore her to life. We should investigate."

Frowning at the apparent worship from the goblins and orcs, Karnog begins a sermon of Torag as he moves around, extolling the virtues of hard work, community, and discipline in the face of adversity.

"And remember always; the strongest steels emerge from the fire and blows of the smith. This will harden and toughen you like fine metal, my brothers and sisters. Look to the Great Creator and praise his tenets, care for your neighbors and remain strong."

Duncan follows out Karnog. His friend had done good work here today, bringing some hope to a nearly destroyed people. It was terrible that such tragedies occurred in the world in which the small and pathetic masses did what they could to eek out a living when dragon's and demons and gods played out their designs on the material plane. How his goddess had seen fit to bless the Wayward Smith to actually play a role in the drama that was unfolding was beyond the ken of the young Smith he'd begun his life as.

Gods, twas barely a day ago I bargained with the First King O one of the Hell's. second only to Asmodeas himself and now I'm actually looking for a fight with a Great Red...

He glanced back briefly, wondering if any one among them would be marked by fate as he and his fellows had been.
Then he thought about Desmond, for the Rogue was still invisible and had no doubt looted a couple of the dead while the dwarves were in conversation with Mother.

Come along Sneak. Might be we can get out of here and find ye some red scales ta sink yer mighty stilleo into. Bwahahaha!
It did amuse the dwarf to imagine the Rogue attempting to backstab the dragon with such small blades. Would they even go deep enough to reach a vital spot?

Kalim Only:
You listened intently as Mother spoke about the village's destruction, Meath'd missing, and then Silver dragon was killed and apparently eaten by the Aragnak. You manage to piece a few pieces of information together: First, Aragnak must have surprised attack the village causing death and destruction. This was probably in retaliation for dragon learning from Dispater's servants that your group was going to raid his lair. Second, Aragnak is old and wise and he must have known Meath'ds importance to the group. he may be alive but undoubtly is maimed as you know your scry spell looked out of his eye at the small cove. Third, Aragnak is powerful if he could kill and eat a silver dragon of roughly the same age. Although you suspect the silver was younger in age, but you do know Silver's do tend to best Red's in battle. Fourth, if Aragnak just snacked on a silver dragon he may have grown in power since your last meeting.

Duncan looks agast at mother's proclamation, not at the fact the Red had won, but that it had consumed the WHOLE carcass.

Mother, I saw the red was gargantuan but the a silver dragon of advanced age entirely eaten? That would be like meself eatin Karnog here in one sitting. It must've taken hours to sit there and consume a body nearly equal to it's own size..an not leave a single scale behind. There MUST be somethin. Even the tiniest portion will do.

Resurrection:
This spell functions like raise dead, except that you are able to restore life and complete strength to any deceased creature.

The condition of the remains is not a factor. So long as some small portion of the creature’s body still exists, it can be resurrected, but the portion receiving the spell must have been part of the creature’s body at the time of death. (The remains of a creature hit by a disintegrate spell count as a small portion of its body.) The creature can have been dead no longer than 10 years per caster level.

Upon completion of the spell, the creature is immediately restored to full hit points, vigor, and health, with no loss of prepared spells. The subject of the spell gains one permanent negative level when it is raised, just as if it had been hit by an energy-draining creature. If the subject is 1st level, it takes 2 points of Constitution drain instead (if this would reduce its Con to 0 or less, it can’t be resurrected).

You can resurrect someone killed by a death effect or someone who has been turned into an undead creature and then destroyed. You cannot resurrect someone who has died of old age. Constructs, elementals, outsiders, and undead creatures can’t be resurrected.

What about the red? Did it appear wounded at all?

"Aye, Duncan. That's what I'm counting on. A single scale or bit of flesh from the fallen dragon and I can bring her back. Assuming this isn't another of that damned red's tricks, of course."

Karnog grits his teeth and pretends that the goblins are properly directing their worship towards Torag. He knows he is using his gifts and blessings for the greater good, and hopes the dogmatic slipups of crazy fire-obsessed goblins are accepted as the honest mistakes they are.

"Well my scouts didn't stay 'n watch t'see if the Red was lick'n the ground afterwards. They say he was eat'n the siv'r...would yous be stuupid enough to stay 'round and watch the entire feast?" Her caustic tone oozes from her mouth.

Mother has a couple goblin guides lead you to the where the dragon battle occurred. I thought about having Poke Poke being one of the guides. Desmond Poke Poke is a goblin lawyer that Nym is playing in the other game. He grew up in Orctown.

The battlefield is roughly 2 miles away and the journey there takes you through some difficult terrain of jagged cliffs, woodlands, and across a small stream. After an hour and half you do come upon the battlefield. You are emerging form a copse of trees. The first thing that you notice is the smell of charred treetops. It's as if bomb and lightning strikes split the trees and exploded the tops off.

Lets get perception checks and knowledge arcane and nature and spellcheck. Also what is the general idea of how you are approaching this battlefield.

I will get a map up soon.

Desmond who is flying:
You can see mass destruction from overhead it is clear that there were several lightning and fire blasts that mars the topography. Something seems a bit off about the overall scene though you don't see a dead body, it almost looks like the field has been cleaned or staged.

Karnog:
From your vantage point the nearby cliffs are scorched with lightning and fire strikes. the clearing in the middle is marred from great battle but you don't see any dead bodies from your current location.

Duncan:
You see in the middle of the scorched clearing what looks like a small army of kobolds all invisible. They are in battle formation. In fact, you've never seen so many kobolds in your life. You'll need to use perception as a move action if you want to get more detailed information.

Karnog you don't see the kobold army that Duncan is talking about but you've never really doubted him in the past. You do know if there is a silver dragon scale that it will be around where the kobold army is suppose to be located, which is in the middle of the charred earth. to your surprise you don't hear the sounds an army would be making either.

Karnog there is a sizeable area in the middle of last map that is charred, you know this is where the two dragons would have been in close contact and thus an area where a silver scale would be located. Unfortunately, this is also where the kobold army is located.

After casting see invisibility you can clearly see the kobold army that Duncan previously mentioned. It is defensive formation and it essentially located in the area where the earth is scorched the most. Basically where the dragons battled. You can see four squares of formations composed of roughly 100 kobolds each.

Duncan:
As you stare at the kobold formations (read Kalim's post above) you notice hobgoblin in the middle of Kobolds. He is also invisible for your sight permits you see him. He's stands taller than the little dragonkin.

Mass invisibility has no creature limit, just a limit that nobody can get more than 180 feet from another recipient of the spell. So as long as they're reasonably bunched up, just a simple 7th level spell!

Evil GM

Kalim:
You are at a loss for a specific spell. Perhaps they are all wearing rings of invisibility or have the spell cast upon them but that seems impractical. Its almost like there was an invisibility sphere that has been greatly meta-enhanced. Then again you've been coming quite close to demon lords, archdevils and deities lately, not to mentioned wickedly powerful dragons, so there are powerful beings out there.
