Sharlavaka
"Should be enough time to re-arm." Sharlavaka had no idea how often the crew rotated guards, but 'not often' was probably accurate in a high tension situation like this. Still, the longer this ship flew the longer the fighting went on.
rando1000
With access to some system directories, James begins to look at food prep, identifying meals for prisoners - number, times as day, etc...
Assume you've taken time to fix the grenade launcher.
As far as food delivery, you're in luck. It's roughly 16:00 ship time, which means food delivery will begin in about 20 minutes.
Aside from the main gate security (which you can bypass with the armor's ID chip), the guards appear to be the only security in place inside the cell block. There are no automated lasers, or anything like that. There are cameras, though, so you'll want to deal with those, if you don't want a lot of company real fast.
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Can we mask the cameras to loop? Also, let's intercept the food and deliver it ourselves.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
Essential raised a brow, "Would that be before or after we sent in grenades to soften them up?"
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Heresy for certain, but if we can mask the Captain's features... he can talk them get us past any sentries one checkpoint at a time.
It's a routine food delivery, their guard will be down. We disable them and stop communications, as before... rinse and repeat, as they say.
rando1000
Tamrat's bluff score basically obviates the need for a check; in a few minutes, he's able to convince the mess attendant who's moving the food in to allow them to deliver it, insinuating Esh (in full Azlanti armor) is the relative of one of the guards and is here for a surprise visit. (we'll assume most of the crew stays out of sight for that interaction).
Wheeling the food to the entrance doors of the cell, it is no problem for Esh to open the security door using "his" armor's ID chip. The group is now free to go in, food in tow. You won't be able to disable the communications without first entering the cell block. The comm port will be found in the Equipment Locker once inside.
How do you go about this? Are just Esh and Tamrat going in with the food? If so, where are the others staying? Just inside the cell block doors?
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"Move, slave." Esh speaks in harsh Azlanti, shoving the butt of his gun into Tamrat's back. "Get these pitiful xenos their slop before I shove you into the reclamation chamber myself. I don't want to be around these creatures any longer then I have to."
For some reason, Tamrat has the vague impression he's only half-putting on an act.
I'll be assuming just me and him for the moment, while the others are holding back ready to rush in.
rando1000
"Eh? What is that...thing?" one asks, referencing Tamrat.
"Hope you got some chow on there for us, too."
Scanning the cages, you catch a glimpse of Morgrym in the 3rd cell, directly across from the table the guards are stationed at. There are 3 of them, currently.
rando1000
The guards don't seem to be onto you as they disseminate the food, choosing the best items for their own table and passing on the leftovers to the prisoners. Recognizing Tamrat, Morgrym gives him a meaningful look that the Captain would translate, roughly, as urgency. Morgrym, it appears, has reason he'd like to be out of his cell sooner rather than later.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
As the Azlanti are distracted by the food, Eshenvral approaches the security console and begins mumbling under his breath, something that sounds like "Damn protocol."
In reality the elf is hyper-focused on getting his task accomplished as quickly as possible, as he doesn't much enjoy being surrounded by armed guards. His hands are only just managing to keep still as he extends his datajack into the port in order to slice through the server at the speed of thought.
Computers: 1d20 + 19 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 19 + 1 = 25 Adjust the security feeds into something favorable.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
computers: 1d20 + 19 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 19 + 1 = 27
James "Joyride" Maxwell
James keep watch...
Eshenvral Kothiavus
It was funny that James had brought up asking for his help 'working on a game' earlier in their room, as the elf had a side-hobby of creating such digital assets. One would need to when they relied so heavily on holograms in their spellcasting. Perhaps he was by no means a master, but there were a few tricks up his sleeve.
Such as seamlessly splicing their security feeds with a procedural generated 'cut-scene' of himself finishing up work on the console, gathering Tamrat, and then leaving. To observers of the feed the Azlanti were acting just as bored guardsman would, with no signs of distress whatsoever. Little would they know.
"We're ready. Deliver your payload." He whispered mentally to Sharlakava. As he started to turn around, a spell was on the tip of his tongue.
Readying action to cast Grease on the floor surrounding the guards, after the grenades hit.
Sharlavaka
Sharlavaka gestured to the others to prepare themselves before stepping out and opening fire. There was no warning, of course.
To Hit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (2, 3) + 8 = 13
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Six-Pack launches a frag grenade into the back corner...
James steps in and shoots at the nearest most readily available target.
Six-Pack, grenade launcher vs AC 5: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Six-Pack, dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1
James, atk pistol: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
James, dmg pistol: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Heroic!
rando1000
"Arg! Guns up, we're under attack!"
Unless anyone else has an action here, I'm going into combat.
Initiative Round 1:
Esh: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Sharlavaka: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Joyride: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Tamrat: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Irina: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Azlanti Guards: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
HOW is that even possible? I rolled like hell for the PCs and you STILL go first. Well, have at it.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
I did, actually
"Watch your step." He stated calmly, before swiping a hand out in front of him. At the same time a thick layer of arcane crimes transmuted itself underneath the hapless guards.
Grease, DC 17 Reflex save
Sharlavaka
Sharlavaka focused the laser again on the greasy one, as ordered.
To Hit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4) + 8 = 16
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Six-Pack continues to launch grenades, adding to the chaos and shock value.
James prays and preys upon the guards' fears. Bringing technology to horrific life...
Six-Pack, grenade launcher vs AC 5: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Six-Pack, dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Amplified Glitch: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
With a successful Computers check (DC = 15 + 1 per target + 1-1/2 × the CR of the highest-CR target), all targets are shaken for 1 round, plus 1 additional round for every 5 by which your result exceeds the DC.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"Why the he'll would I only target one of them?" The elf asks, sweeping his hand to gather up the heat generated by all these grenades and explosions. With a flick of gis wrist, all that heat comes to bare once again.
Overheat: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 7) = 10 DC 17 reflex for half- if they can somehoe manage to dodge that after being greased.
rando1000
End of surprise round:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Reflex vs. Grease FAILED
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Reflex vs. Grease
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Reflex vs. Grease FAILED
These guys are so hosed.
Two of the guards fall on their asses, and one of them, already damaged by Sharlavaka and the grenade, takes an additional hefty amount of damage, though he seems to have survived it.
I'll apply the overheat to the one still standing, since he's the biggest threat.
1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 2 = 18 (I gave him an on the fly -2 Refl Save for the grease)
He takes 5 and drops the gun.
rando1000
Amplified Glitch = 25
I'm going to say this affected one of them (all three would have pushed the success DC over your roll).
So, in summation:
Two guards are prone due to grease. One of these two has had the hell shot out of him.
One guard is slipping but maintaining his balance in the grease. This dude is shaken due to Amplified Glitch. His gun is on the floor as well, having been hit by overheat.
Then a grenade goes off and adds to all their woes.
The two prone try to stand:
Acrobatics inside grease:
1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 2 = 6
1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 2 = 8
SON OF A
The one who dropped his gun, now recognizes Esh is not on his side despite the armor, draws his curved blade, and moves out to wear Esh is, by Morgrym's cell, for melee attack. Unfortunately that's two move actions, so he won't be able to attack this round.
Acrobatics to move inside grease:
1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 2 = 6
...aaaand he falls on his can anyway. Are you guys hacking Paizo?
Top of Round 2
Sharlavaka
Sharlavaka kept following orders, and fires on the already mauled greasy guard.
To Hit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (2, 7) + 8 = 17
Eshenvral Kothiavus
The elf waves his hand, gathering one of the dropped pistols in a telekinetic grip. "Honestly. If you can't play with your toys properly, let's put them in the hands of someone who will?"
As the gun slides across the floor and into Morgrym's cell, Eshenvral calmly steps around the pool of grease and out of the crazed Azlanti's reach.
Token Spell to slide one of the dropped weapons to our dwarven friend.
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Please hold for reality adjustment... James raises his new pistol and shoots at a guard.
James, atk pistol: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
James, dmg pistol: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
rando1000
James' shot barely lands on a guard trying to get to his feet, grazing him slightly.
Morgrym grabs the pistol sent to him by Esh and fires on a guard as well.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 4) + 7 = 19
Another miss causes some damage to the inner walls.
rando1000
So there are two guards left. One is injured, shot by both Sharlavaka and Joyride. One is groggy, having been doped up with sedatives by Irina.
Both fallen guards make an effort to stand and move out of the greased area, to hopefully do some damage next round.
1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 2 = 6
1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 2 = 17
Finally! One guard, the groggy one, makes it out of the greased area, placing him in melee range with Esh and Tamrat.
The other guard slips again after a few feet. Next time he'll be able to get out.
Tamrat has not acted in round 2; he can act twice in round 3, so we can move on.
Top of Round 3.
Tamrat ul-Khedim
Tamrat steps back before taking a shot at the guard in front of him, "Focus on this one!"
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3, 8) + 6 = 19
He fires again, issuing a similar command.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2, 7) + 6 = 16
Shooting and using Improved Get 'Em twice. Probably going to miss twice as well.
Sharlavaka
As commanded, the laser turned and focused on the Guard getting too close to the Captain, and fired again.
To Hit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 4) + 8 = 13
James "Joyride" Maxwell
I hate guns, give me a keyboard any solar cycle... James shoots the guard approaching his team.
James, atk pistol: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
James, dmg pistol: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Eshenvral Kothiavus
"Honestly, you're all doing terrible at this whole 'Shooting fish in a barrel' Sort've thing." Eshenvral comments dryly, before pointing his wand at the Azlanti who's almost made it out of his magical trap.
Hold Person, DC 15 (26 charges)
rando1000
"Not even close," the Azlanti prisoner says. As soon as Irina frees him, he walks over to an unconscious guard and kicks him.
Morgrym, apparently grumpy at being held for so long during a crucial battle, nods at the party.
"What took you so long?" he says as he fires a shot into the same unconscious body the other prisoner just kicked.
"You've got to get me to the inner defensive platform! I'll explain on the way!" Morgrym says.
The final guard, not able to stand in the grease and having so many weapons pointed at him, surrenders.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
The elf shares a look with Joyride that conveyed his intent, just how much longer would they have to safely remain aboard?
James "Joyride" Maxwell
James take sthe guard's ID and places him in a holding cell, locking it.
Don't worry, how bad could it actually get? Let's move!
rando1000
IMPORTANT
I realized my post was vague and I might have you thinking the wrong way. Morgrym's reference to the "Inner Defensive Platform" is referring to Zothune's orbital defense platforms. He was to get off-ship ASAP, not go somewhere else on the ship.

As far as equipment, Sharlavaka finds 2 White Star Plasma Pistols (Morgrym has the 3rd), 3 Carbon Steel Curved Blades, and 3 communicators.
Eshenvral Kothiavus
Eshenvral kneeled down next to the bound Azlanti, taking off his helmet and looked him directly in the eye. "Congratulations. By being smart, you've been given the chance to live a few minutes longer then your coworkers. If you'd like, we can extend that time to indefinitely. So long as you're willing to cooperate with those filthy xenos, of course."
James "Joyride" Maxwell
Are you going to offer him a way off-ship if he gets us to our vessel? Talk about common goals...
