A rough mechanical chuckle starts up from the construct as he watches the catfolk violet his creator's personal privacy. "ᎳᎬᏞᏞ ᏦᎬᏢhᏒᎽ, Ꭵ ᎠᎥᎠᏁ'Ꮖ ᏦᏁᎾᎳ ᎽᎾu hᎪᎠ Ꭺ ᏆhᎥᏁᎶ fᎾᏒ ᎾᏞᎠᎬᏒ mᎬᏁ. ᏟᎪᏒᎬfuᏞ mᎪsᏆᎬᏒ, Ꭺ ᎶᎥᏒᏞ ᎪᏁ ᎬᎥᎶhᏆh ᎽᎾuᏒ ᎪᎶᎬ mᎥᎶhᏆ mᎪᏦᎬ sᏆᎪᏒᏆ sᎾmᎬ ᏁᎪsᏆᎽ ᏒumᎾᏒs ᎪbᎾuᏆ ᎽᎾu."

Hickle's cheeks quickly redden with embarrassment and his hands briefly swat upwards to dislodge the errant girl. "Hush you, and enough with that please! By the cogs, you girls surely will be the death of me. By a heart attack if not brutal trauma..."

He coughs, and explains the purpose of the room to the party, and then asking them where to next.

Aww, but I was having fun... Kephry pouts, but respects the gnome's wishes and fidgets with her own tail while he explains the purpose of the room.

Well that seems a little dark to me. Not sure why someone would want to make another person's insides outsides after they die.

"A few reasons, actually! See, Ancient Osirianians believed that a persons intellect and knowledge resided inside the heart, thus they removed that to preserve the embalmee's mind in the next realm. The lungs, liver, stomach, and intestines were removed as their presence would cause the body to decay at a much more rapid pace. Truly fascinating how developed their medical science was, even if they had a few details mixed up."

Moving on...

Returning to the foyer with the first tapestry you removed, where you first turned south, the party now takes the northern door. This leads to the final two rooms of the complex.

Entering the first room north of the foyer, the party sees a brightly painted chariot sitting in the center of this chamber. Beyond the chariot, a large canvas stretches between two stone columns. The skins of several animals—antelopes, great cats, and crocodiles—now faded and deteriorated with age, are tacked to this canvas. A wooden chest, lacquered white and trimmed with gold inlay, sits in the southeast corner. In each corner of the room a small stone shield is molded into the masonry at shoulder height. An open hallway leads to the east,
and a set of stone double doors leads south.

Sorry about that Rando, you know how the weekends tend to be slow around here.

Hickle looks around the room, appreciating it for what it was and admiring the chariot in the room's center. It'd fetch a nice penny, but getting it out of here in tact would be difficult to say the least.

He does at least keep an eye out for traps in the general area, however. The chest in particular.

As Hickle examines the chest, he does indeed find it both locked and trapped. It's a blade-related trap, within Hickle's ability to disarm, if he performs relatively well at the attempt.

I've never really understood taking animal skins for trophies either , Kephry says as she stares as them with a perplexed look on her face, They're valuable where I come from, but that's because we actually use them for clothes and stuff.

After another couple moments she makes her way to the canvas and sees if she can find a way to bring them down without too much jostling or violence, knowing that they're more valuable in-tact no matter the culture.

I suppose that has merit, the cat muses as she sets to work on the canvas with whoever is available to help, but that's part of why we use them. Look, these teeth, she points to her weapon, drawing attention to the evenly spaced teeth along the edges of the weapon, taken from a desert lion that stalked the village. She continues, almost reverant in comparison to her earlier playful tone. Payn and Kephry manage to detach the skins. Given their age, they're not fully intact, nor in very good condition in general, but they should fetch some price.

The ring is in fact magical, and emits a faint enchantment aura.

Careful inspection reveals it was, in fact, likely disassembled up top and reassembled down here. Whether that could be repeated after all this time is questionable at best.

Three shields with different designs are displayed upon a rack against the east wall, while various weapons hang from another rack along the south wall. Arrayed around the room are five small chests and a clay urn.

"Hopefully that was all for the defences," Malavine said slowly, retrieving her Starknives. "But check everything before you touch it. I really don't want to get melted by a green cloud of acid."

She moved to the diorama, and checked it out.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

You find no traps or further impediments in the room. Among the mundane weapons, you find Akhentepi’s khopesh and spear, both of which are masterwork and thus roughly 300 gp in value, 150 resale price.

The chests are of good craftsmanship but less ornate than the one found in the previous room. They contain a sack with a 100 gp and 42 sp, and several scroll tubes holding papyrus. Payn estimates their value at 350 gp resale, if you can find an Osirian collector (forgone conclusion given the current climate back in the living city).

You have completed the exploration of the tomb of Akhentepi.

It takes you the rest of the evening (and late into the night) to get all of the treasure out of the tomb and loaded in a way that you can carry it all, and still it is a burden.

You return to your inn, the Tooth & Hookah, weary from your adventure. A notice on the wall indicates that tomorrow night, there is to be a special celebration for those who have returned from their mission, following which new assignments will be handed out by the Priests.

"For those that have returned," Kephry reads solemly from the notice, Seems a shame that people didn't make it back... Though I'm sure the spirits will watch over them and the Pharasmins will say their prayers for them as well.

"Oh, yes.. that is a shame." He mumbles, looking up at the notice.

"How about I go and fetch us some dinner, hm? We had a long day after all, and we could use the grub! Besides, I'd love to hear more about you girl. I'm sure you have some stories to tell! Though ah... I have a feeling I'd prefer not to hear Miss Payn's, though I'm sure it's been quite eventful indeed."
