A tattoo would work. I'm not set on a character, but I've got ideas. My top 2 are a wizard who wants to rule the world, and a svirfneblin rogue that acts similar to a ranger.

Lenthus is mad. I should take more damaging spells for situations like this, I hate having to use a cantrip when I feel like a fireball.

When we reach level 4, either Vothe or Aten should probably take mending, unless you can retrain cantrips, then that would be good. I would, but its not on the warlock spell list.

Character Advancement
A character who earns enough XP to advance a level can do so at the end of a long rest or at the end of an episode or an adventure. A character who earns enough renown to advance a rank in his or her faction can do so at the end of an episode or an adventure. Note your new level or rank on your character sheet and in the notes section of your adventure logsheet.
Hit Points at Higher Levels. Whenever you gain a level, use the fixed hit point value shown in your class entry. You cannot roll your hit points.
Customization Options. If your allowed rules for character options includes the Player’s Handbook, you can use the options in chapter 6, including multiclassing and feats.
Just FYI

If we get to 3rd level, I am planning to take the Pact of the Chain, so that I can let Axthres out. If anybody has any requests for spells I would like to hear them.

For one of my backups, could I use the Secret Identity background from this?: http://www.dndadventurersleague.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Hillsfar-Reg ional-Character-Options.pdf
It would be changed to accommodate menzoberidon
Even though you are a non-human, despite Hillfar's Great Law of Humanity, you continue to live in the City of Trade. You do so by maintaining a secret identity, forging documents, and wearing a disguise. Few, if any, know you aren't human.
If you're a halfling or gnome, you pass as a little person or a child. If you're a half-elf, half-orc, or genasi, you disguise your non-human features. Other races use a combination of disguise and concealing clothing to hide.
Your reasons for doing so are your own. Perhaps you're a dissident or the agent of a foreign power. Maybe you have a relationship with someone you cannot bear to leave. Regardless, this way of life has taken a heavy toll on you.
Skill Proficiencies. Deception, Stealth
Tool Proficiencies. Disguise kit, forgery kit
Equipment.
A disguise kit, a forgery kit, a set of common clothes, a belt pouch, 5 gp
Feature:
Secret Identity
You have created a secret identity that you use to conceal your true race and that offers a covering explanation for your presence in Hillsfar. In addition, you can forge documents, including official papers and personal letters, as long as you have seen an example of the kind of document or the handwriting you are trying to copy.
[Note: This feature is a variant of the Charlatan feature.]

Updating my equipment - I'll earn 16.25gp from the sale - Who needs clothes?
I'll throw 6gp to clothes. And buy food with the remaining 10gp - that should give us ALL a good meal or two.
| Bryn y Rhosynmelyn |
So this was confusing me, and I think there was a lot of bad math. To get the value of goods you can purchase, you multiply by the trade in value (1/2 value) and then divide by the markup (3/2) resulting in the goods you can by in PHB gold being 1/3 of the trade in value. It makes it a lot easier to bookkeep that way. More detailed math here.
Bryn - sold everything he had for better weapons, worse armor, and some goods including clothes. 7.16/33GP left (96GP of equipment traded, and 1 gold coin)
Lenthus - sold leather armor for a staff, a backpack, two sets of clothes, and soap. 6.98/15GP left (45GP of equipment traded)
Aten - sold 2 daggers, 1 bag of caltrops, and 100ft of silk rope for an arcane focus and clothes. 2.83/8.33GP left (25GP of equipment traded)
Ril - sold 1 broken hand crossbow for clothes and food. 5.75/6.25GP (18.75GP of equipment traded)
Vothe - sold 1 hand crossbow for misc. equipment. 25/25GP (25GP of equipment traded)
It looks like we have severely undersold ourselves, and need to adjust our purchasing accordingly. I propose we do it here to prevent further cluttering the game thread.
Changes to my trade - I want to buy hide armor instead of padded; and instead of torches buy a lamp, tinderbox, 6 flasks of oil, 4 candles, another set of clothes, and 3 flasks. This spends the rest of the gold I had hanging out there
Those clothed:
-Bryn
-Aten
-Lenthus
-Ril
-Kingsley (from Lenthus)
-Vothe (from Bryn)
Needing clothes:
-Derendil, Eldeth, Jimjar, Ront, Sarith, Shuushar, Topsy, and Turvy
I assume stool doesn't need any clothes. If Ril wants to clothe everyone it costs 4GP and leaves him 1.75GP.
TL;DR
Ril needs to spend 1.75GP, Lenthus needs to spend 6.98GP, Aten needs to spend 2.83GP, and Vothe needs to spend 25GP. As a group that means we have 36.56GP we need to spend.
I suggest picking up:
- A "main" melee weapon for Kingsley like a war pick
- A cheap offhand melee weapon for Kingsley like a club (TWF gets the bonus damage from rage, so it's just an alternative to the shield)
- A non-loading weapon for Ril and Vothe. Each handcrossbow can be traded for a shortbow, and I would consider it.
- Any survival gear that we can use. I picked up a herbalism kit and some flasks to try and make potions, but I don't know what else would be good choices for the rest of the group.
