confirm crit: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 2 = 15 <-- never mind, prolly not, LOL
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Orryn slices away and takes Hafshi to the brink of death. As a hungry birdie, Stellah gobbles all up on Hafshi's face, killing him. As soon as he goes down, the beetle disappears.
Now time to see the vent
1d3 ⇒ 1
The vent on the left goes off, doing all sorts of damage to no one.
Orryn Quattlebaum |
Stellah begins chewing and pecking at the evil wizard's remains. Mmm, fresh meat...
And Orryn fetches his lance before running over to check on Dex.

recap on description of the room
The streaming lava is still flowing. By the altar, there is an idol of a bull-headed man with raised arms holding a sword and battleaxe. A dead person is by the idol. You search the body and find a wand, scale mail, light mace, whip, and cloak. You identify the wand as a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges.
Opal Moonstone |
What was the thing behind the statue with eyes looking at us or something?
I can take care of Dex, you guys see if you can move that statue from its place of honor. I’m fairly sure that is the one we are supposed to bring back, though don’t ask me why.
Opal will use the found Wand on Dex until he is at full.
Rene Duquesnoy |
You talking about the murderedeaded Hafshi?
Everyone is fully healed, and out of the way of the still working vents.
To remove the idol, you can just pick it up. It is not attached to the altar

Llathander pushes the status over, and it falls to the ground. You can distinctly see a portal underneath it, that quickly shuts. As it is shutting, you can hear cries of anguish, terror, and the sounds of metal-on-metal combat. The lava stops flowing, and begins to dissipate.
Octavius Carolingian |
Knowledge Planes 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 on the portal.
Octavius wipes the sweat off his brow, and looks around at everyone. I hope this it. That was a little too close for comfort

Perhaps we should make sure this place is not easily used again.
Opal takes out her Morningstar and starts smashing the Alter, Backdrop, basically anything that looks remotely related to Molech, but not the statue. She had orders on that.

Faction Time!
Dex Hannover |
Dex looks around and announces a grand thanks to all that saved and healed him, he also apologizes for letting his safety potentially sidetrack the party. He begins a meticulous search of the altar area and the bits left behind after its smashed.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
In response to Opal's invitation, and still as yet puzzled by his quest, he accepts and reads each page carefully. "Thanks Opal, I almost forgot, much appreciated."
Rene Duquesnoy |
Everyone got their faction missions done. Huzzah. I will get chronicle sheets for you momentarily. Hope you had fun.
Orryn Quattlebaum |
w00t, the Ranger did NOT burn to a crisp. Plus, the Citadel of Flame has burned out! :-) Thanks, all!
Opal Moonstone |
On our way out I suppose we should tell the Dwarf he needs to find a new job...
Oh, and thanks for stepping in Rene, rather than leaving all these characters out in the cold.

The dwarf realizes that he is now truly free. He decides he wants to visit Kaer Maga, and is off to recruit 11 more dwarves to accompany him. Along the way, he picks up a long bearded wizard. That wizard advises him to grab a halfling who can help out on this unexpected journey...

Why a Halfling?, he asks.
Well, replies the Wizard, Thirteen is an unlucky number for a journey, as everyone knows, and this one may surprise you.
You are ready to fight Dragons ,right? No? Hmm...
Orryn Quattlebaum |
Orryn could volunteer to join them, though I imagine he'd have to both change his name and give up Stellah...
Or he could recommend cousin Bilbo Quattlebaum, who's never been out of his cozy little hobbit-town and could use An Unexpected Journey.
