Resuming marching order, The Fierce Ones pass into the chamber beyond the entry hall. There are two open doorways in the west wall of the chamber, flanking the archway, and a spiral stairwell between the hallway and the north most flanking chamber, going up to the level above and down to the cellar below.
Perception checks, please....
Derrik Stonesmith
Derrik takes the lead once again hardly shaken by their last encounter though oddly interested in why such creatures would deem to inhabit the area.. unless it was a coincidence OR they knew something. His sense keen enough after the adrenaline rush not to be too surprised if there were perhaps more creatures about.

Indeed, he hears a whispered word of magic from the north most flanking chamber....
Derrik Stonesmith
Derrik stops outstretching his axe-arm to stop the group, a hushes whisper and boy movement used to get his point across.
" Magic. I hear it. There. Be ready. "
Pointing out the chamber direction as he continues forward as if he did not notice.
Intellect Devourer
Invisible to normal sight, and perched in a small alcove in the south wall of the chamber, the invisible stalker watches as Derrik and Koran first enter the chamber.
Yes.... The big one.... He'll do quite proper, I reckon....
Confusion on Koran, Will save, DC 17....
You're all-of-a-sudden a bit puzzled, right, my big blokey?
Koran "The Hammer"
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Koran shrugs of the spell with ease, almost like he is used to it happening frequently (which he is)
that would have been an interesting situation if he had failed. also rage conversion let's him reroll a save against a mind-effecting effect but if he succeeds he becomes confused. :)

Derrik has read about such vile creatures as this--intellect devourers, they are called. Aberrations from another world that can shrink themselves and infest a host body by crawling in through the mouth or another orifice, and exert psychic dominion over its host. Body thieves, some writings have dubbed them. They can become invisible at will, and can try to baffle the minds of their prey with psychic compulsions.

Somehow, Radsworth has never come across a reference for a small creature that looks like a human brain supported on four muscular legs ending in sharp, bird-like claws....
Derrik Stonesmith
Derrik seems to Flare up suddenly realizing what this cretin was and anger boiling inside of him.. This creature needed to be erased. Derrik brought forth his Holy might and roared
" Your existence shall be erased! No longer will you plague the minds of people nor control their bodies any longer! Derrik the Stubborn judges you thus, Begone..! "
Rushing the Devourer, much like a giant metal soldier in comparison to it.. Clanking destruction
Smiting Charging Dawnbringer: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 231d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Dawnbringer bursting into light right before it strikes into the creature's flesh undeterred by its protection.
Swift action Smite evil on the Intellect Devourer, Charge; AC 23 against it

Effulgent with divine power, and sharp as a razor blade, Dawnbringer crackles as it slices through the wrinkled, brain-like flesh so steeped in evil.... The devourer squeals!
Ow! That was right a right rude greetin' if ever I sawr one, ye bloody shiny bastard! I'll gobble your marbles for that, mate....

Krar leaps forward with a fiery rage in his eyes and slams his fist into the creatures brain.
fortitude dc 15 or be stunned for 1 round
Fortitude save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Krar's punch seems to do the creature little harm (1 non lethal damage--it has DR 10/adamantine and good)....
Telepathically: Well, halloo to you, too, ya big glowin' galoot! Was that supposed to hurt me, then, or was you just swattin' a fly on me arse?

Grimm launces another one of his bombs at the strange aberration.

Grimm's bomb strikes true, and the alcove contains the explosion nicely, like an oven, cooking the wretched monster! It squeals in pain!
Telepathically: Yarr!! You bloody bastard! I'll crawl up yer arse when yer dead, I will, and I'll make yer corpse dance the bloody jig, I will!!

Wazzat? Squealings an' delicious smells o' cookin' meat from downstairs, is it? Can't let that wrinkly little chap with the chicken legs and 'is little hallway monkeys 'ave all the fun without little ol' me.... The Babbler in the Stairwell, as it were..... Time for me to make me entrance.... Just got to roll down these stairs 'ere.... Yar, here we goes.... Better give 'em a bit o' the old babble.... Don't want to disappoint.... Reputation and all that.... They don't call me The Thing What Just Babbles To 'Isself in the Stairwell, do they?
Billy gobble pollywog buggers? Shanty mugs wif pushy little daisies waggle round about, eh? Snip us sitter shins in gamble dolly blacks 'em!
The babbling of multiple voices echoes in the nearby stairwell! It is a chillingly familiar cacophony, all too similar to the mad gibberish uttered by The St Armand's Terror, a gibbering mouther The Fierce Ones defeated on their first visit to St Armand's Circle....
Will saves from all, please, DC 13, or confused for 1 round!
Derrik Stonesmith
Will Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Derrik's iron mind and intense focus blocks out the distraction caused by the Babblers nonsense.. seeking to rid the planet of his target with unending wrath.
" Your friend there will not save you from your judgement Oh he Who steals Bodies, For I have come for you and that same creature we have dealt with before "
These voices are hilarious and slightly appropriate considering the area we are.. the creatures seem to have picked up accents from somewhere
Dr. Hugo Grimm
Hearing Dwayne Lee complain that his assault rifle's rounds were bouncing off the little monster's hide, Kate returns her revolver to its holster and peers through the doorway at the creature in the alcove.
Ew! It's gross!.... Kill it!
Will do love!
