The room beyond is covered in the webbing of a giant spider, but is almost completely dark.

Sunny abandons the hatch and pads up to stand beside the door frame, leaning around and peering into the darkness.
"I dun'o..." She pauses, her large blue eyes darting around and taking everything.

"Whut be in 'em tables over there?" She points out the furnishings under the draped webbing.
"An' whut sort o' thing it be whut makes all'a this white stuffs..?" She asks, seeming perplexed by the gossamer strands that blanket the room. Reaching out and experimentally poking some.

I kneel down on my knees and look upwards towards the celing of the room to see if there is anything up there before I do anything else.
Ya, that is gross guys, I know fire is not a good idea on a ship but I am going to recomend that we light these webs on fire quickly, maybe we can smoke it out of the room to get whatever it is out here. So we can kill it quickly

Sunny, don't you see the webs? There are a ton of webs in this room, so it would seem that there is a spider in there or at least was. Either way it would be to get rid of the webs so we can move.

Sunny tilts her head,
"Whut kind o' spidey, then?" She looks back into the room. then back at Lanliss, [b]"You mean a whoole lot o' spidey, don'cha? I mean t'would take th' lil' bugers ages t'get all'a that stuff over everything..."[/]b She leans back into the doorway and looks about.

"Oy, there's a spidey on the ceilin' ya dolts. Don't want to git ourselves bitt'n, we should smoke or burn it out, who know how many other wee ones be 'round as well. Whatever we do let's all be on the same oage bout it though, won't do much good to have half us us pokin' round while half of us set fire to the place."

Is the ship door big enough to fit a small 2 man row boat through or a barrel(1 person)?
The thought is to use it upside down as cover as a few of us slip past the spider.
Duo starts looking around the ship for a barrel or a small row boat.

Sunny peers into the room,tying to find this 'Spidey' that evey one is talking about.
Also, how 'fresh' are the webs? Are they all white and pristine? Are they faded grey? Are they glistening with sticky stuff?
"We can all=a ways go an' lift a lid?" Sunny points out, hoping to break any impasse about entering the room.
"Come at the problem from'a different angle?" She asks

@Duo: Barrel. The door is sized for a person to walk through, but it's a bit tighter than a standard doorway you'd see in a home.
@Sunny: Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 You can see that the webs are a mixture of the old and new and they cover nearly every surface in the room. Thinner, weaker ones are strung up through out the room. You cannot see the creature that Alestone mentioned. It must be hiding in the shadows of the room. The webs create numerous deep shadows in the room.

Okay, so here is what we are doing then Alestone, you stand by the door, Aoro, Move back behind me and stand next to Duo, Sunny you go and stand on the other side of the door so that we have a Team effort here.
Once everyone is in postion I say the following
Okay, Listen up! We're not playing games with a spider, I hate them and do not want to deal with them more then nessary. Alestone when it comes out pound it hard core, Sunny, Come out Slicing when it comes out. Duo, I turn towards him and make sure he understands what I sayKeep us alive, me. I am going to toss this mixture at the damn thing and started by getting it out here.
I move into the room and duck and weave and toss my bomb upwards towards the spider
Once I get in there I try to move back out of the room to get the spider to follow me or behind the spider how ever it works

Sunny nods and quickly scampers into position, drawing her large Elven curved blade and standing ready.
"So, this in't the joke where...when you nod your head, I hit it? Right?" She asks, trying to lighten the tense mood.

Hmmm... We'll say you thrown the bomb in front the entrance, peeking into the room. Miss Chance (due to not seeing the damn thing): 1d100 ⇒ 29 Miss, so it'll take splash damage. Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Fail, so it takes full splash damage. Now to see if the ship catches on fire, Save to Avoid Catching on Fire: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 Success, but the webs in the area partially burn away.
Lanliss throws a bomb into the room and the flash of fire is punctuated with a high-pitched noise that pierces the air. A massive black spider with a red hourglass on the underside drops from the ceiling and lunges forward.

Attacks by the group aimed at the spider hit home and the sound of crunching chitin fills the air along with the strange pain noises the spider makes.
The spider's poison burns in Sunny's veins, attacking her body directly, flesh blackening and the pain nearly overwhelming her. Sunny takes Con Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3 and is staggered while the poison is in her system.
Combat - Round 3
This spider backs away from Sunny Withdraw and climbs onto the thick webbing towards the back end of the cabin.
Sunny, give me another save against poison.

Alestone will stagger over to Sunny and lift her head and torso off the deck into his lap, to raise them above the poison. He will then rip off one of Sunny's sleeves and tie it above the spider bite, to help keep the poison from coursing through her system.

Aoro's bolt of acid goes wide and misses the spider by a considerable margin. However, Lanliss' bomb nails the creature and drops it from the ceiling with an explosion and a flash of fire. It twiches several times as its legs curl upward and finally goes still.
Save to Avoid Catching on Fire: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Fail
The webs light up and fire streams throughout the cabin. The wood quickly catches alight.
The venom in Sunny continues its ghastly work, destroying flesh as it goes. Sunny got a +4 bonus to her Fortitude save from Alestone's administrations, but it was still not enough to beat the DC. She takes Con damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2 and is still staggered.
The spider is dead, but since there are still things going on, I'm going to handle them round by round. Give me more actions! Sunny, I'll need another Fortitude save from you.

Aoro curses as the fire catches and spreads, noticing the charts. The image of his hands around the elf's throat flashes thru his mind, he was going to make him eat one of those bombs. He pushes those thoughts away quickly moving to save the charts before they are loss.
"Anyone got any idea's how to stop this fire or do we go back empty handed?"
As it stood, Plugg was going to have a grand time when they got back.

Lanliss and Aoro charge into the room, snatching up charts. The flames lick at this backsides as they grab what they can and quickly exit the room.
Aoro and Lanliss each take 1d6 ⇒ 2 fire damage.
Due to Alestone's and Duo's ministrations, the poison in Sunny's system finally halts its deadly progress.
The poison seems to have stopped and no more Fortitude saves are necessary. Also, Sunny, Con 5 is a -3 to checks, not a -2.

Aoro does not feel the fire at all, his nature repelling the minor flames. Not that his clothes faired so well but that was best, no need for the elf to find out he was resistent to fire. He looks over the charts to see if their worth anything or meaningless, not that he was above secreting away a treasure map. Then again a ship would be needed, at best a share then. He sighed, back on the ship things would not go well. Lanliss may not survive his latest mistake if Plugg had his way.

@Lanliss: You notice nothing else in the cabin of interest.
The fire is spreading slowly for the moment, but will probably engulf the cabin in approximately another minute. For right now, it doesn't block the staircase down, which is now apparent to everyone, with or without the ability to see in the dark.
