Sir Hendric stands (move), flies to the yellow square while drawing his warhammer (move, half speed or 20' because ascending to 15' height), uses Tactician to share Escape Route (swift), activates mythic power for a bonus standard action, and uses that bonus standard action to move next to Nikolai.

At 15' height everybody on the cliff should be able to see and hear him, but he should be out of KV's reach (since Kurik was out of KV's reach).

He should be able to catch Frag, the eagles, Bellum, and Nikolai in the effect. Maybe KULIK. Not Kurik.

Ready once the other actions get resolved.


The group of you put together your plan and begin to execute it. Unfortunately there are two potential flaws. Firstly, its quite a complex plan so needs some co-ordination between you. You dont have any sort of telepathic communication set up between you so KV is arguably at least somewhat aware of what you are trying to do. Secondly, Summoned monsters dont hang about, they simply move to attack your enemies once they appear unless they are both intelligent and you are able to communicate with them.

Bellum conjures his spectral eagles. Koth'Vaul scoffs at him, You would use such pathetic illusions against ME! The eagles fly up to engage him and he ignores them utterly.

True Seeing means he recognises them automatically, none of them are capable of actually injuring him or getting close enoguh to his AC to pop a mirror image.

Sir Hendrick flies up and grants most of the group the benefit of his tactical skills before retreating to the protection of his sorcerous ally.

Kurik relocates himself and Kurik to the rest of the group and then Kulik lets fly.

Kulik, if you committ to using manyshot then you are committed to the full round action attack and cannot switch back.

Kuliks first shot does indeed look like it is aiming true and this does provoke Koth'Vaul to again vanish. He reappears 10' above the group, threatening all of you. As Kuliks full attack continues he grows tired of this nonsense and tries to end his life.

KV takes his OA on your rapid shot. OK, before I go on that Pincer opportunity attack is a threat. Bellum do you want to divine interference it and if so what level spell slot will you expend. You have 12 hours to decide after which I will move on and resolve things. Frag, please wait until I resolve everything else before acting.

Koth'Vauls huge pincer lashes out at Kulik, seeking to end his life. Bellum calls on whatever gods are willing to listen and, somehow, miraculously, the massive appendage snaps shut just above Kulik's head. Kulik plants two solid arrows into Koth'Vauls chest but the beast remains standing, and very very angry.

KV takes 56 damage after DR as I do not believe your current bow counts as good

OK, here goes, lets see if this works.

Frag charges at the enemy! The first devastating blow slices cleanly through an image. The second does the same. The third strike though cuts a bright red lines across Koth'Vauls abdomen and while Frag then sinks his teeth into the demon they have no effect.

KV takes 74 damage and has no mirror images left. He is however still very much alive.

Abyssal Effects:

Possible effects include:

Quake: Each creature standing in a 20-foot radius must attempt a DC 20 Reflex save or fall prone. Fissures open in the earth, and every creature on the ground has a 25% chance to fall into one (Reflex DC 20 avoids). The fissures are 40 feet deep. At the end of the round, all fissures grind shut. Treat all trapped creatures as if they were in the bury zone of an avalanche, trapped without air (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 429). In Subtier 14–15, increase the DC of the Reflex save by 2.

Meteor Strike: Two meteors strike the battlefield, as per the spell meteor swarm.

Acid Bubble An Abyssal bubble bursts, spraying acid on all creatures within a 20-foot radius. This deals 10d6 points of acid damage (Reflex DC 21 half ). In Subtier 14–15, the damage increases to 13d6, and the saving throw DC increases to 23.

Abyssal Minions: The dirt of the Abyss squirms with life, as a 20-foot-radius spread of grasping claws springs from the ground. This functions like a black tentacles spell (CL 15th, or CL 17th in Subtier 14–15).

Other: The PCs could potentially create other effects, such as altering terrain features or even creating crude structures from thin air. Allow them some leeway in how they decide to shape the Abyss, especially if it creates fun or cinematic effects.

A thick fog bubbles up, vile green smoke blanketing the battlefield. Koth'Vaul snarls and his head swings from side to side, scowling between Frag and Kulik. Enough of you Archer he snaps as he takes a single flying step to directly above Kulik and Kurik.

Both pincers lash out at Kulik, crushing him in their vice like grip. As Kulik's body goes limp he tries to tear his throat out with his teeth but the fog confuses things and his jaws snap close on air. Both claws then lash out blindly at Frag. The first swings harmlessly over his head but the second scores a line of bright red blood across his face.

Kulik takes 114 damage and falls unconscious, he drops to the ground landing prone. Frag takes 30 damage after DR

I've got one channel and know where Kulik is. Does anyone else need it? I can spend the second mythic to channel and then full attack since I'm next to him. But Kurik is not as impressive as Frag.

Stepping down into the mist, he pushes out the wayfinder around his neck, the golden key lighting up as holy energy rushes forth.

Nikolai either gets nothing or heals thanks to items, I don't recall which. Edit: Actually, depending on how cones extend upwards, Kurik may be able to use the 30ft cone instead. If that's possible to do without hitting KV, Kurik will have done that. That should catch everyone but Kurik himself.

Kurik strikes up at the would be demon lord. Two blows connect, his weapon, blessed by the powers of good and infused with the fury and blood of Deskari carve into Koth'Vauls hide. He bellows in pain and fury.

He then steps down and brings the blessing of Abadar onto his allies.

Cones are three dimensional, it would definately hit KV. I dont think you can hit Sir Hendrick with the line given you dont know where he actually is. You can certainly get yourself, Kurik and Nikolai and probably Bellum, but it may not matter...

Kulik remembers his blessing and leaps to his feet. Snatching up his bow he lets fly into the fog. Sir Hendrick feels the passage of the arrow through the air with his blindsight. He "sees" it lodge in the throat of the mighty demon. All of you hear the gurgling, rasping voice call out, Noooooooooooooooo and then the great bulk of Koth'Vaul crashes to the ground, dropping directly onto Nikolai, Kurik and Kulik.

He falls and then lies still....

Combat over, KV is unconscious and you may do as you wish with him. You ran him through all 8 of his mythic power points. One for mythic initiative, one for mythic power attack and then six mirror dodges. Congratulations all. You are not quite finished, there is some wrap up but I will give you some time to react to your victory.

One question does immediately spring to mind, what do you do with the uncinscious Koth'Vaull.

Sorry Nikolai, I think Sir Hendric can't let any more of Deskari's power live on than is absolutely necessary.
I assume that by the ellipsis in your post you meant to give us the chance to stop you. But understand that my action is not PvP.


Between you the group destroys the remains of Koth'Vaul. This part of the Abyss remains in flux but you have completed your task.

There is no way to recover KV's heart, he has consumed that power and now it is gone

All that is left is to return home. The portal remains, somewhere behind you and, after a short hike you find yourselves back where you began. No demons dare to trouble you on your way back, it seems that rumours of your actions are already rippling through the Rasping Rift.

You step through the gate back into what was once the Worldwound and which is now once more Sarkoris. Or at least, most of you do. As Nikolai tries to leaves the portal shrieks with violent energy, driving him back. You try all you can to recover him. Teleportation, Plane Shift, Greater Dispel Magic, nothing is effective. It seems the Abyss has claimed Nikolai and will not let him go.

The five of you stand on the other side watching Nikolai try to escape to no avail. Your companion is lost to you. However, the gate remains a problem. It is a hole in the world, a doorway to the Abyss through which other demons might easily pass through. What will you do about it, if anything?

So, what will you all do. Will you close the rift, while Nikolai watches on helpless to do anythig about it or will you leave it open in the hope that some day he might be able to return but leave a door for other demons to enter Golarion?

If you want to close the rift then you may do so with a ritual which takes 60 minutes to complete. The ritual requires one Knowledge (arcana) check, one Knowledge (geography) check, one Knowledge (religion) check, and three Knowledge (planes) checks. The designated primary caster for the ritual must attempt at least one of these checks, but he can delegate the rest of the checks to other PCs. These checks cannot benefit from aid another. You cannot take 10 on these.

Is there any benefit to having secondary casters if they aren't doing checks? If they aren't helping, it would probably be better if I did them alone in case there is a backlash.

Nikolai is momentarily vexed by the barring of his passage, but then a thought occurs to him, and he starts laughing.

"If I truly cannot leave zis place, zen I am free of ze bargain zat vas made viz ze Great Crone."

He then looks up into the sky, and shouts.

"Baba Yaga, I claim zat vhich is rightfully mine."

There is a crack of thunder, and then a bolt of lightning strikes one of the boulders. The ground rumbles, and then with an explosion of quartz shards, a giant egg the size of a horse bursts from the ground. It keeps getting bigger and bigger, until it is the size of an elephant; at that point, it splits open, revealing a strange sight - a 15' x 15' x15' hut (decorated in Ustalavic fashion), which unsteadily gets to its feet, for indeed it has legs - two great raptor-like ones.

The front door is shaped like the beak of some great bird of prey, and it keens as it moves over to Nikolai, bowing down before him.

"Yes, you vill do nicely."

He then turns to the others, and waves.

"It vas a pleasure to vork viz all of you. If anyone vants to visit, please let ze Grand Lodge know zat ze Abyss now has at least one Lodge open for business."

Nikolai then smiles wryly.

"It is small," he says, pointing to the Hut, "but I feel zat mobility vill be important... I also do not expect to have *zat* many visitors... and if I am to protect zem from ze local flora and fauna, I vill need to keep zem close."

Note: Nikolai definitely has retained his non-Evil alignment (despite now having the Evil subtype), and intends to maintain it!
