Antonella Schiavo

Antonella wears a hint of a smile. “Well I do so hope I remain in your good graces, Abraxi.”
“I understand station and wealth impress a great many people.” She *shrugs* “But I dunno. I hold more faith in patience, courage and perseverance. The Master gave us ample opportunity to display those qualities during our last mission, didn’t He Wembly?”
“In a former life I grew up in one of Cheliax’s Mwangi possessions and have never actually set foot in the ‘old country’ itself. As with many colonies however, the governor tries a little too hard to make Port Eledar appear more Chelish than Egorian.”
That was a lifetime ago. Now, I am what you see. A man chasing after rats in a prison.
Antonella looks around for threats as she continues. “Irori says we have little control over the things that happen to us, Abraxi. We can only control our reaction to those events. New life - new start. I for one am grateful for the opportunity.”

Wembly, almost in a daze as his mind wanders, absently replies to the paladin "What? Oh yes Antonella, yes it did. I was just thinking the same....whoa, what us that thing? It is enormous!" he snaps to attention, urges whiskers over 5' right and casts grease. (Dc15) on the walking dirt.
Heccan Abraxi
|
Heccan smiles warmly as he listens to Antonella. I believe your god may have the right of it Shiavo. I confess I am having trouble embracing my new life as eagerly as you have yours. Perhaps you will inspire me to be a bit more adaptive to change. He gives her a sly wink then takes in a breath to say something further when the ground shakes. Heccan turns his head toward the source of the commotion.
Covenants and Codicils! What in the nine hells is that!? I never thought I would say this but I think I prefer the rats! Heccan looks about trying to decide on an action. On the positive side, at least the mystery of those corpses has been solved. Fine work.
Heccan darts into the room and takes a position to the south east of Ceobryn. He removes a wand and taps once on his temple releasing the battery of arcane energy. A swirling clear white wall of force forms close to his body. He stares at the creature and contemplates his next action.
Heccan takes a move action to move into the room and a standard action to activate 1 charge of his wand of mage armor.

Orryn kicks his heels into his mount, but can't quite execute his manuever!
Ag'mira tries to put a hex on the creature, but finds it seems to be immune to her sleep magicks! She has no luck recognizing the creature either!

Ag'mira looks over to check on Ceobryn.
"Let me know if you need healing Ceobryn."
Frustrated at the creatures immunity she tries a different approach.
"Let's see how you like this big fella."
Heccan Abraxi
|
Heccan recoils in shock after witnessing Ceobryn get backhanded my the monstrosity. He quickly rushes to his aid, stepping behind the ranger. Careful there Ceobryn. I cannot have you dying on me as there would be nothing standing in that things way to prevent it from pulverizing me. Might I suggest getting to the other side of that monster. I am going to try and blast it with some of by burning personality and I am rather certain you do not want to be near me when I do. Before you do, hold still as this magic will take a moment to take effect. As Heccan speaks to the ranger, he draws a different wand and uses it on Ceobryn, infusing the ranger with dark infernal yet healing energies.
Heccan will take a move action to get behind Ceobryn and a standard action to expend a charge of his Infernal Healing wand on Ceobryn. IH is a full round spell, so the effect should take effect next round.

Ceobryrn chops another chunk of dirt off, but the creatures hide slows the blade as it cuts, lessening the attack!

Heccan's eyes go wide in horror as the giant mud fist swings his way. He tries to put his hands up in defense but is unable to fend off the mighty strike. He cries out in pain as the fist slams into him. His body is forcefully slammed against the back wall. He staggers up, face noticeably bruised an bloody, one eye nearly swollen shut. He scrambles to his feet and runs to the north end of the room, where he leans against the wall, slowly slumping into a sitting position.

Wembly urges Whiskers on and the green cat claws the dirt monsters twice, but barely does any damage!
Antonella pokes at the creature with his fists, distacting it!
Here's the deal. This thing has tremorsense. The way I'm going to rule it, is that it doesn't take a penalty to hit, because it can feel where you are, but will still take the penalty to AC, because even though it knows where you are, it can't see the swing coming. Fair? If I have something about tremorsense wrong, please, let me know.

I've seen a bunch of table variation on that, which is why (although I think that the way you calculate it is accurate) I typically err on the side of caution anymore.

I don't see why it wouldn't. It doesn't say one way or the other. I would allow it.

Orryn lands with Stellah in a lather. The halfling dismounts and pets the bird's neck, reaching into his backpack before freezing and turning to Wembly, a deceased dire rat in his hand. Heccan manages to slowly get himself to his feet. Clearly battered and bruised, a good deal of which on his face, he rests against the wall near Ceobryn and allows the dark magical energy to slowly heal him. Through spent breath, he speaks to Ceboryn. By the laws, what the devil was that thing? I have never felt such... he brings a hand to tenderly touch his battered lip, finger coming away with blood...pain. I confess my fiend, I was preparing to meet my judgment in the Boneyard. A judgment that I assure you I was not ready to face. Thank you for trying keeping that monstrosity at bay. I never will understand you folks who throw your way in the way of physical danger, and I have no intention of ever doing again myself, but I certainly will take care of your bar tabs from here on out.
