Roary Flamebearer |
Roary follows Haris.. Taking 2nd spot back
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess hangs out at the back, as her norm, hopefully far away from any possible combat.
Gerard Dessedeaux |
Gerard stays at the back with the ladies, a blunt arrow knocked.
I noticed not everyone was updating their tokens on the map, so I took the liberty of moving the group's tokens into the room, trying to follow the directions people gave... please check to make sure you like it.
DM Rah |
Squeezing his way through the narrow passage, Haris soon comes within sight of a 30-foot-diameter cylindrical room that is carved to resemble the interior of a swirling cyclone of air, although stringy roots, clumps of mold, and thin trickles of mud seeping from cracks in the walls break the dizzying architectural illusion. In the center of the room is a diverse array of glass flasks, plant-rubber tubes, mortars and pestles, and other alchemical ephemera, placed carefully on top of a large stone sarcophagus. Next to this makeshift worktable is a tall wooden barrel topped with a wooden lid.
A swaying lantern hangs from a 20-foot length of rusty chain set into the 30-foot-high ceiling, bathing the tomb in constantly shifting luminance that can be disorienting. A helical stairway, formed out of a plume of cut stone, ascends the interior of the hewn stone cyclone, ending at a balcony twenty feet above the floor. Neither the balcony nor the stairway has railings of any kind. A passageway leading west from the balcony is choked with stone rubble.
As Haris reaches nears the end of the passage he snags his fine clothes on a cracked part of the wall and gets stuck for a moment. Working himself free he hears the voices ahead suddenly alert.
"What was that?"
"Someone is coming. Did you lock the crypt?"
"Of course!"
"Damn guards. Can't trust anyone."
The jig is up!

Gerard Dessedeaux |
Dashing through the corridor to support Haris (move action), Gerard quickly assesses the situation. "We outnumber you, tree to one. Throw down your arms and zurrender at once!"
(Standard action: ready blunt arrow to shoot the first enemy who makes a threatening move, either by drawing a weapon or casting a spell.)
Rowanna Nachtalus |
Unable to determine exactly what's going on as of yet, and unwilling to move ahead by her lonesome, Rowanna opts to stay in place, but casts Guidance on Gerard.
DM Rah |
Gerard, you jumped the gun a little in the initiative. You can change your action if you wish. Also, a reminder that the curving passage is narrow and requires medium creatures (such as the PCs) passing through it to squeeze.
A creature can squeeze past a creature while moving but it can't end its movement in an occupied square.
Titus jumps forward and tries to stab Haris before he can exit the tight quarters of the passage. Most people would be unable to defend themselves well in his situation, but Haris avoids major injury with an uncanny dodge.
Haris, you still take 5 damage, but avoid extra damage from a sneak attack because of your rogue ability.

Like a circus performer, Haris slides right under Titus and pops up behind him! His skill with a sword, however, is not quite as impressive and Titus parries the attack.

With a longspear in hand, Lal Chawda stalks around the chamber to Roary's flank. As he does so he drinks from a vial and his features become even more savage as he grows claws and teeth.

Haris, without the quickdraw feat it takes part of a movement action to draw a second weapon. Looks like you'll only get the sword attack this round, however, it also appears you've got your attack bonuses way off. Your sheet lists your shortsword at +8 to hit, and flanking adds +2 more, so you'll easily hit with a total of 23.
Haris cartwheels past Titus and stabs him in the side.
Badr clears his musket.

Took a 5' step, will delay otherwise unless she can see one of the enemies from her position.
Badr al Din Ibn Badriyah |
I will good to clean, reload and fire next round assuming I use a grit to clear and a cartridge to reload. At level 3 I can reload muskets as per pistols and pistols are a free action with a cartridge
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Map isn't working for me this morning, but I don't think Tess can do anything until the logjam is cleared and she can safely move out and target someone with a hex.
Roary Flamebearer |
You only take a -2 twfing with light weapons.. +8 would be +6/+6, if your flanking +8/+8
Roary has DR 2, so 14 damage total..

With Gerard out of the way, Tessara or Rowanna can squeeze up the passage and target either enemy. There is only room for one, so first come first served.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tessara moves forward, using her Slumber hex on the one called Titus, hopefully knocking him out, so Roary can quickly dispatch him

Will Save vs Hex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Titus stifles a large yawn and shakes his head to clear it, just barely resisting Tessara's hex. "Arh! Not gonna take me down, damn spellcasters!"
"Clear out!" Lal calls to Titus.
Titus stabs Roary again before stepping away. 15 damage.
Lal then steps back and hurls an alchemist bomb at Gerard, who just barely ducks under it at the last second. The bomb hits the wall right behind him however and blasts fire into both him and Roary. 5 points splash damage to Gerard and Roary - DC 16 Reflex Save for 1/2.

COMBAT OVER
The alchemical equipment arrayed on the sarcophagus is made up of several masterwork artisan’s tools used for alchemical crafting, as well as a full alchemist’s lab. Within the sarcophagus currently being used as a table, Terliss hid a small locked chest, the key to which he keeps on his key ring. Inside are the liquid funds given to the Shadow Lodge instigators to carry out their sabotage of the Pathfinder Society’s reputation in Magnimar. Additionally, you find in the chest a thick leather packet containing important documents accumulated throughout the crime spree, which can serve as evidence of the instigators’ efforts to frame the Pathfinder Society. Among these documents is a letter from Riddleport crime-boss the Spider, containing instructions for Titus’ group.
Defeating Terliss and Chawda effectively beheads the leadership structure of the group of Shadow Lodge instigators posing as Sczarni thugs. Although a few agents are currently out of the base—carrying out duties elsewhere in the city—with the Twincandles’ help they are easily pacified and captured upon their return to the Sodden Crypt. The Giatanos express gratitude toward the Pathfinders for aiding them with their squatters, and make no protest as the false Sczarnis’ plunder is brought out of the crypt.
Titus’s letter from the Spider reveals her three-part plan for slandering and discrediting the Pathfinder Society in Magnimar. By her instructions, Terliss’s group was meant to first engage in a whispering campaign against the Pathfinders at Heidmarch Manor. This was to be followed by a series of thefts, concentrating on stealing objects of historical significance. The final part of the plan involved the release of a deadly new hybrid narcotic into Magnimar’s underworld, supposedly acquired by the Pathfinder Society in some distant land. By the end of these directives, the Spider hoped that Sheila and Canayven Heidmarch would be driven from Magnimar entirely, and the society with them.
Well done everyone, you have succeeded at the primary and secondary missions for this scenario. I'll report and arrange for Chronicles probably by tomorrow.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
