Erine Wintyle |

Erine spends most of her time in Cauldron trying to stay near Broccan, Edrukk or Minniwick (or Canvy if they're busy). She avoids interacting with anybody she doesn't know, and keeps her hood down. Goat is, of course, always by her side. While in Cauldron, the gnome makes several purchases.
Assuming we split the money evenly...well, I haven't been carrying the cash. I'll post what Erine tries to buy when I've worked out how much money we've got. Give me a few minutes....

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Edrukk will be happy to accompany Erine or have her accompany him, as the case may be.
When you are calculating the money we have, we can sell the +2 dwarven waraxe. I have no intention of keeping it. Oh, and my masterwork breastplate; if the party feels that we should sell the buccaneer's breastplate, I would ask that Edrukk get a standard +1 armor in exchange.

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

Minniwick will be in his shop, lots to make lots to sell. He will try and figure a way to clear the wreckage in the passage to Jzadirune. He will start up a grass roots campaign to let the government of Cauldron see that allowing Jzadirune to be re-inhabited is in their best interest. Start off with tavern talk and talking with customers. Try and Find the population that will support this kind of movement. He will also be on the lookout for someone who can manage the shop while he is gone and any Al chemical Formula he can buy and add to his book.
Erine and Goat are welcome at any time. If he could hold on to the potion we found on the island he would also like to examine it. He will not use or sell it.

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

Before we just off these things to the first buyer, there may be a collector in town who will pay top price.
Is there a place in town to sell the Magic Items or Art Objects that we might get better then 50%? KN Local 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

KenderKin |
Merchants
Zanathor’s Provisions (general store) …….… Bjellkir Zanathor, male human
Gurnezarn’s Smithy (weapons and armor) ..… Phalian Gurnezarn, male dwarf
Tygot’s Old Things (art objects) …………… Tygot Mispas, male halfling
The Fine Stone (jeweler) …………………… Svall Dalskar, male human
Weer’s Elixirs (potions) ……………………. Vortimax Weer, male human
Skie’s Treasury (magic-items) ……………… Skie Aldersun, female gnome

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

Would anyone like to join me in a trip to Skie's Treasury? She may be interested in the magic items we do not need. Then perhaps to The Fine Stone with the jewels and if we have time Tygot's. We can see what he thinks about that mug. Might be a bit of history that will bump the value.
Is haggling a Diplomacy check, just good o'll fashioned Role Play, or yes?

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"Son, Ah think Ah'm likin' 'is fancy armor Ah got 'ere. Ah feel 'twould only be right t' spend my money 'n a better sign o' Gorum."
As he says this, he reaches behind his head and pats the pommel of his greatsword.
"Ah'm n' merchant, tho'. 'r ye good 't 'agglin'? Ah'm not."
Diplomacy +1. Count 'em, they're all there.

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

I can not find where the Falcata was identified so I will use an Identification infusion to check it out. Spellcraft 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31 Good day to you Lady Skie! My friends and I have come across a few goods that you may be interested in. What say we have a look around at what you have to offer and you see what we have? Oh, if you are ever in the market for Alchemical items come look me up over on Eel avenue. Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 +2 Axe and the Falcata are all I know of.

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

That we are, it was good to see home again...it had been to long. I do say 5,000 GP each for the weapons is a fair price, you have a deal at 10,000 GP for the lot. What might you have for sale?

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Edrukk taps Minniwick on the shoulder and whispers, "C'n we get 'er t' throw 'n 'nchanted sword o' Gorum int' th' mix?"
Thinking that getting that much in cash might be harder than getting part of it in merchandise. And I have an interest in magic greatswords, of course.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"Ah, um, me friend 's doin' th' buyin'. Ah was jus' makin' a suggestion t' 'im."
"But, um, what sort o' deal d'ye think might come 'n a trade? Ah 'ave good quality gear 'at could be enchanted fer future sale. Me sword 'n me breastplate."

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

Trade is always a good thing! We are both merchants and we know that the only way to make money is to move goods. I think we could go as far as 8,750 and a 20% discount on a few items from your shop. I will even toss in a even trade and give you a 20% discount on any Alchemical items you need from my shop, "Zookwinkle's Alchemical Cures". What do you say?

Broccan Dunchad |

"I'll throw in m' magic torch'n if i' tips eh scales." He unbuckles his longsword and sets it on the counter. "Do y' have longswords lie kiss 'on, maybe one 'nat shoots fire'r cuts stone?"

Late in the evening when dreams come....
Everyone dreams
You are far above the world, looking below to a vast and empty crater. It takes some time, but you can recognize the crater as the city of Cauldron. You begin to drift closer but still far in the air so no one would notice you. You can see shops and wagons in the street; a bustling and thriving city below you. Thousands upon thousands of people are lined in the street, obviously celebrating something. As you stare in wonder and fascination at the people below, it dawns on you that you know what they are celebrating. The Flood Festival has just started and the people spend an entire week celebrating and partying. The inns are bustling with patrons and wagons filled with goods of all types are lined out in the streets.
As a few moments pass, you begin to celebrate with them, although very high in the air. A sense of peace and happiness fills you and you desire to be a part of this celebration. As you start to drift closer to city, you begin to notice a dark shadow spreading over the city. It starts slowly, but gradually begins to fill the entire city with a deep darkness.
You mouth instantly fills with water and you begin to choke. You cough and cough, attempting to clear the water from your lungs, but you are unable to do so. Your vision begins to blur as you slowly drown to death, but you then realize—for whatever reason—you do not need to breathe. Your recent change has caused you to not need the necessities most people need, including breathing.
As the water spills from your breathless mouth, you gaze upon the city again. You can see the celebration has turned to complete terror. The citizens of Cauldron are fleeing in horror as the shadow descends upon them. You then think to look outward, beyond the city. As your gaze reaches for the horizon you can see that it is not there. Something has blocked out your view of the horizon. You then come to realize that a huge and vast wall of water has stretched for thousands of feet skyward. The wall of water was coming at a fast pace towards the city.
Within moments it crashed upon the city, devouring all. As the waves settled, the city was completely submerged. A soft glow began in the center of the water, where you knew the Crater Lake used to be. The soft glow became an angry and harsh red haze as you realize the center of the lake was boiling, possibly from the volcano below. As the water churned, a red “M” could be seen in its center, just before your vision fades out.
Did it have to do with the upcoming flood festival or what the dark elven lady had said, you are not certain either way.
You are awakened with a pounding upon your door.
A drunk voice from beyond slurrs loudly!
"Tha flood festival yer gonna miss it!"
You realize the festival is weeks away.......

Erine Wintyle |

Erine has one goal for today: Sell the jewels and mug.
We now have a beer mug, two garnets, six rubies and the big diamond to sell. I can probably find where we got each item if you need your memory refreshed, KK--it's been a while.
She also has some other items she'd like to get ahold of...
Erine wakes up. "Augh! Wha--oh." She rubs her eyes, looking sheepish.
Later, when the group is ready to set out, Erine speaks to Minniwick. "I'm interested in buying some items I've...heard of. I'm n-not exactly sure if we can afford them, though. I-I haven't been much involved with the money. Um..."
Erine is interested in purchasing a Hat of Disguise (1,800 gp), a Robe of Bones (2,400 gp), a Type I Necklace of Fireballs (1,650 gp) and a 1st Level Pearl of Power (1,000 gp). Obviously, she doesn't expect to get all of these.
Erine continues to spend her time following the others around (unless she gets the hat).

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"N'lad, 'at'r ye doin'? Ye carried 'at thin', ye make yer request. Ah got th' armor, Ah shouldna come 'fore ye 'ere. Ma'am, what will th' f'lcata give 's? One sword? 'r 's 't worth more 'an 'at t' ye?"

KenderKin |
"Well actually having heard about your great deeds an all one of the local lords agreed to pay the difference, allowing us to have a straight trade for the items."
Ie the falcata for the longsword 1:1 ;)
"An master Minniwick your donkey returned just this morning with the caravan, your friend the merchant heard you were back and sent him along for the trip!"

Broccan Dunchad |

Broccan flushes at the praise, and lowers his eyes. He reaches for the weapon and secures it to his belt. He gestures to his former weapon and the everburning torch.
"I...accep'...I'm grateful...take the curvy sword. M'am. I beg ye [i]please[/] this oth'r stuff'n trade for m'friends… they're good folk."
He turns and walks from the store, ignoring any objections.
Standing in the street outside, Broccan mutters to himself. "Ye don' desrv friends like 'em... you almos' got 'em kill'd an' they still give ye nice stuff...

Too high a check for me too, if the DC gets easier here go 4 days worth, at 1 per day.
Perception day 1 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Perception day 2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Perception day 3 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Perception day 4 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
If only another couple of points were in perception .... duh!

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

@ Edrukk
That should leave us with 3,060 Gold left to trade. A magical weapon for you or Canvy and maybe a pearl of power for Erine, if Skie has one in stock. We would have to toss in a few hundred to make up the difference. But a good trade for everyone involved I dare say.
@ perception checks Canvy, good idea
Perception day 1 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Perception day 2 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Perception day 3 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Perception day 4 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Day Two
Run and try and catch up Sanstree is that you, where have you been?

Sanstree |

"Minniwick Wha are yah doin here? Figured Canvy still had ya'll unner-ground lookin fer ever spare coin an treasure tah be had."
"How'd tha maps werk fer yah?"
Sanstree seems older and a bit better spoken. He also seems a bit taller or maybe you are tired.
He leans in closer.
"I about got Jziradune re-opened, though I am concerned about the rainy season and the flooding a bit."

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"Ah got th' armor. Let 's be fer gettin' Canvy somethin' fer lettin' 's keep some o' 'r gains."
Edrukk's abilities are going to work better if he is supporting the front line instead of participating on it. Enhancing Broccan and Canvy makes sense.

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

He did. The maps worked well. I am not good with them but the others seemed to be just fine. Why are you concerned about the rainy season? Come to think of it, you are not the first to say that. Rain has been light the past few seasons and the temples have always taken care of the lake in the past. What is the concern this year?

Sanstree |

"Divination seems tah indicate a gully-washer this year indeed, and the potential alternate route into Jziradune is a bit close to the lakes edge. I have not zeroed in on the entry point yet, I need a bit more time, Divination magic is not a perfect science, but out o tha magic we has tah work wit."

Sanstree |

"Allustan says tha churches used tah werk together tah make wands of control water an kept tha flood waters back, increasingly tha task has fallen tah jus one church an tha past few years has made ever-one lax. Wit tha water up I kent find tha door to Jziradune."
"Iffen yah could check wit tha church an make sure they gots tha wands I would feel better pokin around near tha waters edge."
