Broccan stares into the darkness seeing in the passage two white shiny daggers with the points turned downwards.....

Edrukk comes to where the fighter peers into the darkness. "Lad, we need t' be findin' ye a way t' be seein' 'n th' dark, much 's ye 'r 'n th' lead down 'ere."

Broccan Dunchad |

Broccan drops his everburning torch about 5' in front of him (between the daggers and himself). He draws his sword and calls into the darkness.
"Wanna knife-fight, ye black-heart'd bastr'd? Fine by me, step'n t the light an'I'll give ye a good clean shave!"

Broccan's eyes bulge at the realization that the daggers in the dark were actually fangs. He takes a swing at the creature.

"What the blazes are you doing Broccan, can't you see that hairy creature?" seeing Broccan in some trouble staring into the dark, he drops his weapon to draw a javelin and calls "Bring the light of the mother on this instrument of your vengeance for those mindless children that do threaten us all."

Erine Wintyle |

My main computer seems to have contracted a fatal virus. With any luck, it can be fixed, but I won't be posting very frequently. Just a warning.
I've got no action anyways, though. Erine is busy 'guarding the rear'. ;)

Minniwick Zookwinkle |

I am at a convention starting tomorrow morning until Sunday. I will not have internet access again until Monday. Alsom Minniwick is out of bombs and infusions until we rest. He will be in the back guarding Erine.

KenderKin |
Erine and Minniwick that is fine this is a giant spider and not really a challenge to you guys.....
Might be worthwhile finding a resting spot! ;)
The spider tries to bite Broccan on the shoulder
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6
Confirm critical
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
You are up!

KenderKin |
Broccan kills the spider!
I should have known typing the spider was not a challenge would lead to it biting Broccan ;)
Minniwick
"I am out o potions an such maybe we should find a place tah set camp and maybe go through what we have collected and moves some of the bodies. Looks like Canvy an Broccan could use a bit o rest."

KenderKin |
Finding that the secret door locks and the closet door, the orginal chamber becomes a fine place for a camp site.
The night, if there is such a thing passes uneventfully and everyone has rested and has new magic to face the day.
Will you be returning to the tunnel?

KenderKin |
No you guys basically got to the area where the vein meets the kidney in the picture there are three S (spiders) that have fololowed you from behind and some other large spiders in the webbing.
The other creature is D is a bit strange to look at....

Erine slowly draws out a jawbone, which reeks of carrion.

The female elven bodie has bare breasts that appear very supple.
The female speaks to Broccan...
"I am a beuatiful elf maiden, if you could just go down into this pit and retrieve an item for me I could be restored and I could be yours!"

Erine whispers something.
Casting message.
Erine then shouts something at the spider-woman, in a guttural tongue.

KenderKin |
"It is as I say I need an item from the deep to restore my beauty to me. This handsome knight has already agreed to help break this terrible enchantment."
Winks at Broccan
"You see those who hated me cursed me with this form and beneath this very pit made a thing to restore me to myself, however also in the deep is a lake, and within that lake a dragon...."
"I have sent many spiders down, yet they all end up in the lake the dragons acid severing the web and keeping them from returning....."

Erine Wintyle |

Erine glances at the others, then back at the elf/creature. She whispers something to herself.
[ooc]Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Broccan Dunchad |

Broccan removes his pack and retrieves his rope.
"How deeps'it m'lady? I got fifty feet o' rope 'ere in my pack."
He looks to his companions. "Any o' ya have more rope? I might be need'n more."

KenderKin |
"Nay sir knight a small tunnel over there has an old ladder within, that will take you safely down away from the dragons reach, unfortunatly I can not fit that way, again those who hated me planned well."
You look and indeed a shaft goes down into the depths and has a dwarven forged ladder within.
"The spiders will not attack you, I think they think I am their mother, so they tend to listen."
"There are other treasures, I just need a single scroll to break this enchantment."

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"C'mon, lad, les' 'elp th' lady out."

Erine Wintyle |

Unfortunately, you can only whisper responses to Erine, but she'll relay them to the others.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Yeah, I knew that, just didn't think. Sorry.

Broccan Dunchad |

"We'll be off then, m'lady! I'll b'sure t' bring ye back th' scroll."
Broccan moves to the ladder as directed by the nice elf-spider lady, giving the spiders no more regard than a pack of small dogs.
"C'mon lads n' lasses, hero'c advent'rs a'waitn!"

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"'old up, lad. Climbin' a ladder wit' a torch c'd be a problem. Le'me go 'n first."
Looking at Canvy, "Ye need t' watch 'r backs wit' yer darksight."
Botting Canvy
The half-orc, greed already in his eyes, just nods. "Fine, fine, you distract the dragon, we'll cover you." He nods solemnly, convinced that his plan is solid.
Going with the assumption that RL still has Deevor otherwise occupied...

KenderKin |
"Of course how thoughtless of me to not consider my knights heritage."
The lady econs Broccan forwards close to he bare skin and she hugs him...
"Forgive me my lack of consideration of your humanity."
She gives Broccan an ear-ring and even helps him place it in his ear.
Broccan
Suddenly your world changes and you can see patterns of heat the spiders all become obvious and the darkness disappears....
"Return quickly."

Broccan Dunchad |

Broccan blinks in surprise as his eyes adjust to the darkness. No longer requiring it, he stows his torch of continual flame.
"M'thanks, mistress! Let me hurry down'e ladder'n fetch th'scroll for ye."
Broccan sheathes his sword, shifts his shield on to his back, and moves down the ladder.

KenderKin |
Broccan hustles along to complete his knightly duties and bring a pleasant smile to the face of his new lady!
A thundering spray of water fills this small chamber, pooling and flowing out to join a larger river to the north. The air is damp and the roaring of the waterfall is deafining. A broad ledge heads north toward the river and then turns out of sight to the east. The muddy banks of the pool look like footprints or tracks of some kind might have disturbed them.
A fast-moving underground river roars under an old dwarven bridge, moving from east to west. On the south bank a rusted old chain ladder leads up into darkness, while on the other side of the bridge, the ledge continues to the east. A second bridge seems to cross the river again about 40 or 50 feet to the east, but you’d first have to cross the river here to reach it.
The dilapidated bridge leads to another ledge that winds southeast alongside a very large lake, the source of the underground river. The cavern is quite large; the lake’s far shore is lost in shadow, and the echoes of water seem to indicate a very sizable cavern......

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Edrukk headed down the ladder while Broccan was getting his new jewelry fitted by his lady. I believe the others were going to follow behind him, Canvy going last.

KenderKin |
The underground lake is large indeed yet it seems to have an intact shoreline, and the lake can be walked around...
This seems to be the area the spider-lady described...
The domed ceiling is too far away to possibly find the opening that goes up to where she is.
actions?

Broccan Dunchad |

"Well, I s'pose we shou'be look'n fer'the lady'scroll."
Broccan walks along the shoreline of the lake, scanning the ground for anything unusual.
