Reta spins round and scrambles away (inviting an AoO--standing when she is clear). Can't move while at work though.

Trouble in Tamran | Sky Key Solution | Between the Lines

The ironically named "Cuddles" bites at Reta as she crabs backward.
Dog bite (+vs prone): 1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 4 = 19
Bite dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Reta goes unconscious, but Moggy steps in and slays the mutt, swinging his dogslicer snicker-snack. Make a stabilize check, please, Reta.

(Status Reta is -3 hp below zero. The doggy is dead.)

As the dog falls over, Moggy again pulls out his new favorite toy, the cowbell and rings in proudly in triumph! "Mogmurch da greatest! Am greatest dog killer ever!"

"Good job, Moggy!"

In true goblin fashion, Chuffy steps over Reta's body to explore the room beyond.

Trouble in Tamran | Sky Key Solution | Between the Lines

This room is where Vorka prepares her special "meals". BIts of goblin and other unidentifiable meat hang from meat hooks. A cauldron is stewing on the stove with some innards and what looks to be a full arm.

The bloody burlap sack contains half a goblin, with a recognizable head (but missing an arm). This is what remains of Scribbleface, the goblin exiled for writing. On the flip side, Scribbleface had some nice fireworks that the chief wouldn't have been able to use otherwise.

Unless someone wishes to sample unidentifiable meats that might include goblin, there is nothing of interest in the room. Other than a matted dog coat that still has some meat attached (although it has holes slashed in it), and a dying goblin with stuff in her belt pouch, that is. Other than those things, there is nothing of interest in the room.

The goblins—with or without Reta—eventually make their way back to Vorka's cabin.

It is a trove that would make a junk dealer whimper. (Joy? Agnoy? Just gassy?) The majority of items are filthy and broken, but 10 minutes of sorting through them reveals strangely decorative vases, tools, silverware (what's this used for?), and all manner of items made from bamboo and exotic wood.

The goblins find a bejeweled silver and jade figure of a serpentine dragon, a dozen masterwork shuriken, an ivory and gold fan depicting a gecko walking among cherry blossoms (the other side has a crude map of the area, probably drawn by Vorka), a wand of create food and water with only 2 charges left, and an elixir of love in a crystal vial shaped like a heart (the idealized kind, not the "I just found this in Vorka's soup" kind).

Most importantly, the goblins find a red chest. Chuffy fiddles with the lock while Moggy contemplates burning the lid off. Eventually they get it open to find it about a third full of fireworks! (Clearly, someone has been using them.) There are 14 Desnan candles, 20 paper candles, and seven skyrockets.

So, what do you do?

Stabilize dammit!: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16

Moggy keeps ringing his cowbell. "We healing ugly Reta or not? She am ugly and mean, but ...well, hmm. Reta real mean. Maybe we need kill a horse sometimes. Reta am good horsechopper. Anyone gots more healing potions?"

Does Reta have a CLw potion on herself?

Moggy quickly moves to Vorka and scoops her her belt punch, along with any interesting jewelry she might have been wearing, He orders the others to grab the chest with the fireworks in it. He dumps the statues and wand into the chest as well. "Poog, dare you drink red potion water! Bet it yummy!"

Finally, Moggy looks for the best hunk of dog available to cart back to take to the tribe. "Tribe will love doggie dinner! We be heroes!"

She does! It's in one of three cleverly unmarked bottles--the others being the cheap perfume she drinks and a potion of spider climb.

Meanwhile Reta's toad takes this opportunity to escape it's abusive mistress.

Moggy smiles as he pours all of the bottles Reta currently has down her throat. He starts with the perfume, He follows up with 1 spider climb potion or 2 CLW potion. 1d2 ⇒ 1. He succeeds in pouring all three down her gullet, before she wakes up, probably needing to pee.

Moggy you is a dumb, get away from Reta

After Moggy's "ministrations" Poog gives her a tap with the CLW wand.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

There now be eternally grateful to Zarongel or he probably burn you dead. I proclaim us great heroes in name of Zarongel. We have great feast in honor of us!

Poog points dramatically down at the horse they slayed.

perfume of cure light spider climb: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

BURRRRRP!

Trouble in Tamran | Sky Key Solution | Between the Lines

Reta, a bit woozy and bloated from so much liquid, is healed enough to rise.

The goblins stand, staring at each other, wondering what to do next. There is a big red box of fireworks in the cabin, three dead dogs, and as Poog pointed out, one large, delicious looking horse carcass.

There is also a chief back home wondering where his fireworks are, and whether he'll ever see his magic sword again.

Trouble in Tamran | Sky Key Solution | Between the Lines

Moggy makes preparations to return, and stuffs anything not wet and bloody in the red chest. It's quite heavy, but two goblins working together could carry it.

Cleric 3 | AC 17/13/15 | HP 23/23 | F+5 R+6 W+4 | Init +6 | Perc +2 | Channel 4/4 | Firebolt 2/5 | CLW 16/24

We should eat horse tonight and go back tomorrow big great heroes.

Alchemist 6; AC (27)23/18/18; HP 34/45; Bombs 9/9 per day; CMD 19; Init.+4, Perc.+8; F+8, R+9, W+1 (+4 vs poisons), Darkvision 60'

"Eat horse now...eat dog tomorrow!"

Trouble in Tamran | Sky Key Solution | Between the Lines

That makes two votes, and this is pretty much over, so I'll just make some assumptions and finish everything.

The goblins dine that evening in Vorka's cabin. Her pantry is too disturbing, even for goblins, but Poog gets a nice fire going on the deck (with some help from Zarongel) and the goblins roast horse meat with and some shelf mushrooms growing off the side of the ship. The lay out strips of dog meat to dry by the fire for the trip home.

Carrying the red chest on the return trip is tiresome, until someone decides that using some of the fireworks would make it lighter. Some singed fingers and a couple of missing eyebrows later, the group resumes their march in high enough spirits that there is less pushing and shoving than usual.

The chief demands his equipment back, and sends runners for the remaining horse and dog meat. The runners also return with some of the heavier treasure, which must have "fallen out" along the trail home.

There is a great celebration with feasting on the finest of horse meats, with great fireworks, and many speeches by the chief, although you notice he doesn't boss the heroes around as much.

All is well, until a few months later the four of you are again sent searching for fireworks, ... which leads in to WBG Too.

Thank you all for a grand time! You've been awesome
