Ic is locked in, which he doesn't like. He also doesn't quite like the idea of big hyenas being in the room next to him, so he tries to figure out is there's a pattern to their presence. He's good at patterns.
He also has a good look at the room, the floor and the ceiling. He wonders how hard it would be to tunnel through.
So basically, he's just nervously ogling everyone and everything, without saying anything.

Seeing that they seem to have been dismissed, Liam tries to draw his fellow slave friends close and some distance away from the other slaves.
If any of the other slaves come within eavesdropping distance, Liam will suddenly break off talking in Shoanti to say the following in common.
"Did you see tha' giant bird thin'? It coulda eaten us in one gulp, it could! We're lucky the blighter didn't see us!"

Wulfren responds to Liam in Shoanti.

Ic is somewhat happy to hear the orphan's language, and adds

Once inside the Fort, Gert looks for an opportunity to check out the smashed chest and scraps of paper if she can do so without arousing undue suspicion.

![]() |

Liam cautiously tries to exit the room towards where Ana and Gert are to see if anyone stops him.

![]() |

Gert pretends to check on the lock of the slave area.

![]() |

Liam can see that this door is locked, obviously. Gert comes to the same conclusion when she comes near it.

![]() |

Liam lightly taps out the first part of the shave and a haircut knock (there's an audio file on the page you can play), pausing to listen at the door.
There are other people in this room right? Or did the other slaves all leave?

Gert is cool to wait till night if that's what the group wants to do, but tactically I'd rather not.
GM: Gert will take the paper scraps with her.

![]() |

Liam will go either way. He'd just like some kind of distraction or maybe have people stand between him and the other slaves to block direct line of sight. I already made some disable rolls.

![]() |

Alright, I hope you don't mind my pushing forward since things appear to turn a little slow for the game's own good.
Catching all of the other slaves in the room unawares, Liam manages to unlock the door leading to the kennels!
Please give a stealth check, Liam. If Ic or Wulfren want to come into the kennels, please give me a similar roll.

![]() |

Thanks GM. This part was tricky to agree on our next step. Liam, did you unlock our manacles? I'd like to join you, but would prefer to do so armed and with my hands free.

Wulf takes off the patch of cloth that is his musket. He tosses it on the ground without a word, then picks it up and heads into the kennels, trying to move quietly.

Gert does her best to keep the hyena calm and pacified, asking the spirits of nature to grant her guidance first.

Yes, Liam would have taken care of any manacles.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Liam semi-stealthily moves into the next room, half keeping an eye on other slaves.

Seeing that he is completely weapon-less and extract-less, Liam pauses, looking for an opening where he could at least distract people.
Delaying until after the gnolls go.

Wulfren races out of the slave quarters. He calls out:
"Liberty for all!"
He levels his musket at the nearest gnoll, and readies to shoot as soon as they take a hostile action.
He makes another comment, a bit softer and out of the corner of his mouth.
"Gert, kindly drop my powder horn by me."

Ic moves to the middle of the room, and tries to get his scimitar back into workable form. He looks expectantly at Anaristiel, who has his spell component pouch.
I'd ready an attack if that is still possible after enlarging the weapon, but I'm fine if enlarging and moving is all I can do this round

![]() |

Gert moves in front of Ic, drops Wulfren's powder horn and then cast bull strength on herself!

Liam moves and prepares to distract anything that comes in by waving his fists at them.
I guess I'm aiding Ic's attack, if something happens to get in that one square

Farug opens the door, steps inside and gets hit by Wulfren's bullet! However, his sudden pain only helps fuel his wrath, and the gnoll strikes Gert with great strength, wounding the druid severely!

The two gnoll underlings hurry towards the door, one of them managing to swing his greatclub at Gert. Luckily, his attack is clumsy and he misses.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. If I change it to an aid attempt, does that still provoke? If not, I'll do that. If it does, I guess Liam will just take a full defensive action while yelling nasty comments about their mothers.

![]() |

I'll aid the first person who tries to attack that gnoll since I don't think anyone is currently going after him. Which I figure means there's a good chance it just won't do anything unless someone happens to take down the boss this turn.

Wulfren pulls the trigger, sending a ball at the leader if the cursed slavers.

He then loads another ordinary bullet.

Liam, still unarmed, ducks and tries to hinder the western gnoll's movements.
Meanwhile, Old Lace manages to push aside the grate of his cage, and join the fight.
Still filled with unabating rage, Farug repositions himself next to Gert as his hencheman moves forward, then swings his massive axe once more, trying to take Gert down. Luckily, his rage blinds him and he misses by far, sundering the stone floor with the incredible might he put in his blow.
