Hey all,

So if you have an alias for your PC to use that's great. Otherwise, please feel free post the PC's stats and stuff below so that way I know who your character is. :)

Are we playing high subtier or low? I can do either, but don't want to be out of tier if I can help it.

I am not sure, I have not gotten other players input on what levels we are running yet. I am open to whatever. :)

Here is my low-subtier PC (since it looks like Joshua is low-subtier as well).

I'm level 5.

So my plan as your GM, is to move us in a little faster pace than most traditional Play by Posts. The big reason for this, is that I don't want us still writing and tying down characters for three months and getting us no where. I currently have a plan to finish this Play by Post by November 2nd, clearing the holidays for everyone. But I know life happens, so I have built in a few extra weeks planning to end by Nov 20th at the latest.

My planned posting speeds so that you can check in as needed are as follows:

Mon, Tues,Thursdays: Every 4-6 hours (So expect longer blocks twice a day)

Saturday-Sunday: Every 3 hours (shorter blocks, but allows more RP back and forth.)

Wed: Once a day (Work and my Kingmaker IRL Game means only one round of posts on my lunch)

However, this doesn't mean that I want to take away from the roleplay, which is why I choose the scenario I did. It's got some good combat, but a good number of roleplay opportunities for you and your characters, to get in and get deep. (Which is why we play by post)

So I am stealing my GM policies from Scott, as they basically fit how I plan on running this whole big thing.

1. Posting frequency - post as often and as desired as you like, but at least once a day. If you don't respond to my posts after 24 hours or so, I will NPC you so we can keep things moving. If you're going to be away, let me know and I can work with you on keeping you in the story while you are away.

2. Combat - I will roll Perceptions and Initiatives based on your stats on your Character sheet. Once I post the initiative order and list the PCs who are "up" next, you can post your actions in any order. I will go through and resolve the actions in initiative order, so don't assume someone else's action has occurred just because they posted before you. If people don't post within a day when they're up, they'll go on delay until they do post.

3. Actions - when posting your actions, please include your movement plans - "2 squares W and 3 squares NW" or similar. I will move the icons in initiative order as well. I find this less confusing than having everyone move their own icons on the map - it's hard to tell what path PCs take that way.

4. Maps - I'm using Google Docs for maps. Make sure you can access Google Docs.

Hey, Venus, I'm pretty sure you've played with Elay before, but just for online reference he has a lot of "stuff" going on (probably my most "Booned" character of all):

• He's a grandfathered early entry Eldritch Knight (Wizard-1, Fighter-1, EK-3)
• He always acts during surprise rounds (Divination Specialist)
• If he acts in a surprise round but hasn't perceived what's going on, his default action is to Spring-Loaded Wrist Sheath a wand of Shield and activate it
• He has Send Senses 7/day
• His Dexterity is +2 higher than normal (Chronicle Boon)
• Has Magic Weapon 1/day as a SLA (Chronicle Boon)
• He's on slow track
• He's +1 on saves vs the spells, SLAs, and special abilities of Demons (Convention Boon)
• 1/scenario he may attempt any skill untrained with a +8 bonus (GM Star Reward)
• Knowledge checks at the beginning of an adventure are at +5 (GM Star Reward)
• Knowledge checks made in the Grand Lodge are at +1 (Chronicle Boon)
• 2/scenario he may gain +3 on Acrobatics, Climb, Survival, Swim, Linguistics, Knowledge, or UMD checks, and attempt the check as if trained (Faction Journal Card)
• If we don't earn full Prestige he has two boons that can help earn him full rewards
• If he recovers a piece of the Sky Key he basically earns 1 extra Prestige (not Fame)
• He has a +2 bonus on Charisma-based checks to influence Wayangs (looks at the Wayang in the party)
• He has 3 different Chronicle Boons giving him bonuses against the Aspis Consortium, but I check them off as he uses them
• His WBL is rather high due to combining the "Expedition Manager" Convention Boon with "Borderlands Keep" Chronicle Boon

I think that would put us at 3, 3, 5, 7. Average 4.5, which we could round up or down at our discretion. Either way it's 4 party adjustment.

I'm out of tier whichever way we go, so the rewards are the same for me. But a level 7 may dominate encounters in 3-4 and two level 3s might die in 6-7.

It's a four man party but one of the them is currently away, so I am going to NPC them in a post later this evening. Based on the levels, it's looking like 3-4 with 4 player adjustment. But if peeps want to change now is the time while we're in Absalom.

What roles does everybody play? I'm predominantly a melee striker, and am happy up front if nobody else is. +1 Adamantine Elven Curve Blade. AC is only 19, or 23 with Shield, so playing down is probably better for him. His spells are mostly offensive. Diplomacy is only +9. Though looking at these classes I don't think skills are going to be a problem.

You good, I remember Master Silverhair, but he was much younger and lower level when I played with him last. And it was definitely before the SLA errata and Eldrich Knight updates. (Which were totally crazy)

I also ask everyone's grace as well as I post. It's been almost three years since the last time I played by post and while the format has not changed, a lot of the rules and styles concerning Play by Posts have and so I am working on catching up.

I am excited, and I hope you guys will like what I have written up for all of you. :)

I'm a straight, non-archetype Bard. I'm skilled in oratory, so I'm also good at diplomacy and sense motive. Working for the Dark Archives, I've also got a high UMD. No damaging spells yet, but hindering/support spells. Also, a CLW wand which I'm happy to use.

Not very combat oriented, but I've got a whip and ranged attacks, so I can be an annoyance as necessary.

I also use a wand of Identify whenever possible, which makes my Spellcraft +24. If someone has a higher than +14 base I'd be happy letting them use it instead.

So unfortunately, our tank bowed out. So I am probably going to pull out a pregen, if I cannot find another to jump in the scenario by Sunday. Roleplaying will continue as scheduled. :)

Update: We are still going to being a four man party. But the pregen shall be run by a fellow friend of mine who wants to learn how to do Play by posts. So be nice eh?

Which "tank" should we go with?

Oloch could be pretty cool as both a frontliner and healer.

At level 4 he's a beast.

I'd normally suggest Seelah but if we're trying to Bluff at all she'll blow our cover.

I like to use my wand of cause fear to break up the bad guys, or trip using the scorpion whip (staying 10'+ away to avoid AOs).

Also, I need to know who is a slave and who is a slaver.

I'll disguise my clothing with Sleeves of Many Garments, wear my Mithral Chain Shirt under those, wear my Belt of Incredible Dexterity and Headband of Vast Intelligence over those, and carry my scrivener's kit, chronicler's kit, masterwork calligraphy pen, spellbook, spell component pouch, scroll case, wand of Identify, 2 scrolls of Comprehend Languages, and 4 vials of black, blue, red and gold ink (plus inkpens).

Tomorrow I will prepare Scrivener's Chant instead of Mage Hand.

Because by the time US Thanksgiving rolls around, we've had snow for three weeks already, and there's no harvest bounty to be thankful for!

Snow? I think I've heard of that before. It's like colder rain right? the drought is killing us in NorCal

The ground is so dry in some places that its elevation above sea level has actually dropped. I think the worst is over 20ft (over the span of years). It's enough sinkage that some roads and bridges are being compromised.

I apologize for the slowness. The convergence of life issues have been hitting me a bit. I plan on getting back on track today and the rest of the week. It is kind of a nice bonus that this adventure is really a faster pace scenario, once the GM finally gets sometime to write out stuff. >.<
