Grimdoc will climb back to the top of the bridge to join the others.
Seems like these mud grunts were just hanging out in this cave makin' a mess. Hah! But now they are sent back to the ether, so we should probably continue before more appear. Everyone ready?"

![]() |

Snowadder doesn't see anything in the area, well other then the owl anyways. A quick glance at the door shows that it's not locked..nor trapped, at least as far as Snowadder can tell
Assuming everyone is ready to continue, the only way further is through the door at the top of the bridge..so that's single file up there (unless Logain is flying next to it). So please place yourselves how you want to be on the bridge - or at least let me know who will open the door and will be first in line

Samuel will take point.

Logain will fly along for now. He does cast detect magic snd focusses on the owl, just in case. ..

As Logain casts detect magic he notices an overall presence of illusion magic around the area and as he focuses on the owl he notices that there is a distinct magical emanation inside the owl.
Holding of on opening the door for now, just in case anyone wants to follow up on the information about the owl

Samuel holds off for a moment, giving Logain a chance to complete his business with the owl.
"Not to worry Grimdoc, I think I can manage. Just giving our associate a moment to conduct his investigation."

"Hang on boys, something odd here." Logain says and flies closer, studying the owl and the illusion properly.

Logain can't pinpoint the sense of illusion..but he is able to tell it's covering the entire room and is some pretty impressive work.
About the owl he is only able to tell that there is something that's emminating magic somewhere inside the owl.
As Logain flies closer to the owl the creature eyes him warily and looks like it might try to escape being near Logain is he get's closer
To not spend too much time on this..you can either leave the owl alone and move on or try to kill/catch it and study it further

Logain is curious to the source of magic. He will try to catch the owl. He can use another touch charge of frostbite. Doing nl dmg as well as fatigue, entangle and possibld shaken?

Calistan tends to his wounds with a charge from his wand as more damage transfers from Grimdoc.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
He taps the wand again but it seems to fizzle out. Calistan scowls and throws the stick into the tree with the owl.

An 11 isn't enough to hit it's touch AC ..but it's not worth it to play it out ..so I'm fine with assuming that with some attempts you will bring it down at some point
With some effort Logain is able to catch up to the tiny owl and with one touch slams it out of the air..it drops to the floor and lands on it's head..it's severely damaged and barely breathing.
A cursory inspection reveals a hard, foreign object buried in its gullet.

"I do not know much about repairing living tissue, but I agree with putting the creature out of its misery, its unfortunate that we cannot simply tear off the creature's jaw and repair it afterwards." Marcèl comments, knowing it was easier to work on automatons then flesh and blood.

Unless someone is able to get the amulet out of the owl with keeping it alive, Logain will quickly cut the owls throat, killing it nearly instantly.
As the amulet comes out Logain studies it to determine it's abilities.
Taking 10 for 22 spellcraft

![]() |

Snowadder is able to get the amulet set with a large, beetle- shaped ruby (which when examined detects as magical) out of the owl without having to cut the poor creature open and killing it.
Once the amulet is removed from the owl, the room's illusions fade, revealing the plain stone ceiling above and rough stalagmites in place of the dead trees below.
The owl itself is still in pretty bad shape having been dropped from the sky and landing on it's head (let's assume it's stable though)
Logain is able to identify the amulet as an golembane scarab when worn around the neck.

![]() |

"What shall we do with the amulet? It let's the wearer detect golems, and bypass their damage reduction. I guess one of the front liners without an adamantite backup weapon should carry it. Just in case we do come across any golems."

![]() |

Calistan nods and remains ready to heal his compatriots. He grins a toothy smile as Marcel puts on the amulet. He gives the man a thumbs up.

After finishing with the owl and pronouncing that it should live, Snow Adder uses his wand to ready for the next room once more.
I'm ok with Marcel using the scarab. If we run into a golem, I'll try casting gravity bow and try to punch through.

Logain nods and taps himself with his wand of shield before going into the next room.

After finishing with the owl you prepare to open the door at the top of the bridge.
Samuel opens (the untrapped and unlocked door) to reveal;
A tunnel of salty air is the only dry space in this room. Surrounding
the tunnel on both sides and above is a massive body of clear blue water, magically suspended and prevented from collapsing upon the passage by some invisible force. Hills of coral cover the sea floor, bristling with all manner of plants, tiny darting fish, and anemones. The tunnel leading through this watery chamber bends and forks throughout the room, leading to wooden doorways positioned on the
east, west, and south.
(East is the one you just opened, And just to be clear..anything other then the walkway in this room is water - swim checks/penalties to hit etc apply)
Other then the present sealife of particular interest are the three hybrids of human and shark holding spears menacingly, thick, glistening saliva dripping from its razor-sharp teeth.

Caught off guard by his odd surrounding and equally odd assailants, Samuel fails to parry the second blow in time and flinches as it bites his side.

What Snowadder knows is that these creatures are called Adaro's ..they revere storms, and their lust for blood is amplified exponentially while it is raining. While fighting in the rain or during other stormy weather, adaros act as though affected by the rage spell. An adaro gains this benefit even if it is underwater, but only as long as it remains within a move action away from the water's surface (50 feet for most adaros). They can also communicate with sharks.
Logain moves to a better vantage position and casts glitterdust.

Two of them don't seem to be affected at all, but the last one blinks it's eyes a lot (which was the one who failed the grab attempt..so nothing changes with the spoilered attacks).
Samuel steps into the room and one of the creatures tries to drag him into the water but is too much effected by the glitterdust to be able t do so..Samuel is then attacked from both sides by spears..he get's hit in the side and can his body feel to tense up..but is then able to fight of the poison.
As Samuel moves forward, Grimdoc will follow close behind and swing over the Andoran, targeting one of the creatures, but his Lucern hammer is almost torn from his hands as he hits the wall of water separating them from you.
Darting into the room after the others, Marcèl quickly finds himself on the other side of the creatures, and with his sword in hand swings at the creature he ended up next to.
Actually from your starting position, counting the spaces which they threaten as double movement since you use acrobatics..you can't get there and also attack..in order to not slow things down too much I'll move you a little bit further and we'll take it from there. Note that everything that's not on the "walkway" is water terrain
As his sword hits the water between him and his target it get's swept to the side and the creatures can twist out of the way to avoid getting slashed.
Calistan stays near the group, ready to heal.
Snowadder takes a quick step forward and fires 2 arrows in rapid succesion..one of them manages to get through the water with enough speed to hardly be deflected out of the way while his other arrow almost his Grimdoc in the back of his skull.
