Walter stares at the image of the laughing man, only to see it vanish! Then, at the top of the stairs Walter notices an identical-looking man appear. The man thrusts a rapier glowing with electrical forces towards Walter!

The hit is devastatingly powerful, more so becuase of the jolt that Walter feels. He remains on his feet, but only just (14 points of damage from a shocking grasp crit).

Assuming that Chalfon is within 30-ish feet of Johann here. 5-ft step will be taken if needed to get into range. Placing the summon where it will flank with Malfeas.

Johann gasps in surprise, then reaches into his pouch. Quickly selecting a vial, he tosses it behind the sudden assailant, and with a POP! a majestic eagle expands from a tiny, desiccated specimen into a full-sized creature, flying at Chalfon in a screeching rage.

(I'm guessing only the middle one hit.)

Perhaps the bird is disoriented from its sudden reconstitution, and only one talon lightly scratches the man on the shoulder.

Can't see map, but I should be next to Old Shu. The BBEG should be next to Walter because that is who he just crit with his magus shenanigains.

I have Mu by the front door. Walter is at the top of the staircase, with Chalfon right in fron of him on the stairs. Mal is 10' behind Walter, with Shu behind him and Eolowyn next to the space where Walter was standing. Johann's next to Shu. Only Mu, Shu and Walter told me where they were going. For the rest of you, I assumed you were just looking around from the mezzanine. Shu left the group to inspect the body, but then stated that he returned. I can certainly revise this if you intended things differently, but I need to hear from all of you.

Yes, the "J' is Chalfon - I got him mixed up with Jacquo - next map will show a "C". Front door is barred, so you can move if you like. Chalfon began to move as soon as he saw the first casting, so let's say you guys could finish a second casting by the time initiative hit. I'm guessing on Shu and Mal? Just need an action from Eolowyn and Mu, then we can finish this round.

Eolowyn moves around the room and shot at Chalfon. The shot is not able to strike him, though. Johann throws his flask and an eagle appears! It is able to scrtch Chalfon's cheek.

Mu rushe sover towards the party. Shu casts his spell.

Mslfeas shoots twice, but neither shot can penetrate the wily Dalsine's defenses.

Walter steps back and commands chalfon to drop!

The eagle's talon's are stopped by some sort of invisible wall of force before they can reach his armor.

Johann steps to the railing next to Shu, and tosses a bomb at Chalfon, angling the bomb so that the explosion will miss Mu Ping and the Eagle. Ranged Touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6) + 4 = 14

Johann also pulls his mutagen from his pouch, preparing to drink it.

Malfeas his surprised his shot missed, amazed at the nimbleness of the magus. He then continues his barrage of arrows.

Eolowyn's arrow flies wide of the mark.

Johann makes an impressive throw with his bomb, striking Chalfon directly between the shoulder blades. His back is blackened by the explosion, and he gasps in pain.

Chalfon's eyes widen as the withered old man he just hit nimbly flips away with the agility of a cat!

Old Shu's splinter sinks into Chalfon's stomach, and he nearly doubles over. The wound begins to bleed slowly.

Both of Mez's arrows are stopped by the same invisible wall of force that aided Dalsine before.

Walter stabs with his mighty spear, but Chalfon adroitly swerves around the tip.

Chalfon moves towards Walter, swinging his sword once more.

Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

The tip simply bounces off Walter's armor and stout frame!

Johann downs his mutagen, and draws an alchemist fire from his pouch, ready to throw it. +4 AC (+2 dex, +2 natural), +4 dex, -2 Wis for 20 minutes.

The eagle tries to dodge around Chalfon to attack from a flanking position. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (Well, that would probably provoke an AoO if Chalfon wants to take it. The Eagle's AC is 14. Disregard the following attack if Chalfon takes the AoO and kills the eagle.

Joahnn's eagle flies around Dalsine, who stabs it with his rapier.

The wound clearly hurts the bird badly, but it stays in the air, scratching Dalsine's face.

Eagle's crit did not confirm. Dalsine has taken 23 damage.

"You want expert opinion?" Shu calls back to Malfeas. "Magic!"

"Don't worry, Shu has great magic too!"

Shu rubs his hands causing sparks to burst between them. When he pulls them apart a flame flickers over one hand. He winds up to throw, but ends up flinging it in the total wrong direction.

The eagle will remain until the beginning of Johann's next turn, so Walter and possibly Mu Ping could flank with it.

"He probably cast Shield or a similar spell before attacking," says Johann, "We just need to aim better!"

Suddenly realizing that he and Walter are the only infantry, Mu takes the advantage of three distance fighters to keep the Dalsine at bay, and downs another potion. He ducks Old Shu's astray fireball and shouts back, "Give me some armah!"

Frustrated over the ineffectiveness of his arrows, he drops his bow and hops over the ledge, off the fireplace, and into a flanking position on the foe. Then, in a completely surprising move, instead of going for a strike, he tries to grab hold of the man and wrestle him into an easier position for the others to strike.

Grapple: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21

Malfeas rushes forward, and with the force and agility of a trained warrior he grabs Chalfon and holds him fast!

Walter steps back and heals himself.

Eolowyn now shoots an arrow at the restrained villain.

The arrow flies true, and slams into Chalfon's side. He is hangning on to life by the barest of threads, and tries to break free of Mal's grasp.

His struggles are in vain.

If he was at 0 he would be staggered. If he then tried to break free, that would be a strenuous activity that would do a point to him and drop him into bleed out range...

Malfeas drops the unconcious form to the floor and dashes up the stairs to retrieve his bow, taking solace in the comfortable grip and feel of the wood.
