Just 1 check for the city. The bottoms is home to ex-slaves and abolitionist from all over Golarion. Fierce believers in the ideals of democracy, its citizens have taken to calling themselves the Freemen. They oppose forced labor in any form and support the rights of the oppressed and subjugated.

![]() |

"Meatgate?" Azuk begins, "In the Bottoms? Sounds like my kind of place. I say we head there as soon as we can and dig up this Shadow Lodge creep."

![]() |

"Yeah, the Bottoms... sounds like my kinda folk. We are all nearly slaves to those who control our coin, it is abhorrant to take even that away. I would certainly like to go visit these folks and see if they can help us on our investigation. Perhaps they can help to identify these suspicious Shadow Lodge... erm..." Searlas hesitates for a moment. "...Pathfinders as they've been referred to."
Is slavery flat out illegal in Kaer Maga or just heavily resisted by the Freemen in the Bottoms district? If it is legal I'd like to see if I can find a Freeman crier or any sort of anti-slavery demonstration and make some friends.

![]() |

If there are any Freemen out making some noise about slavery I'd like to go for my faction card anti-slavery pitch anyways. After that I'll head to Meatgate with the rest of the crew.

Let's see how good at public speaking Searlas is...

"Well then, let's get a move-on, shall we?"
Dembar changes into his bat form and takes wing, flying above the area and watching for anything dangerous to the group. When he arrives at Meatgate, he looks around, waiting for the others to arrive on their slow legs.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Searlas finds a crowd near the edge of the Bottoms, and rallies a small crown of Freemen to boisterously support.
"Good people of Kaer Maga, my name is Searlas of Quantium, a city quite a distance from here. A city of hard workers and trade, much like here. Our people were made strong by mutual respect and making sure that every man can stand up on his own and gets his chance to show his worth to the world. We are all nearly slaves to our basic living needs.
We owe much to those willing to employ us, but we cannot ever let that relationship degenerate into servitude. Remember the teachings of Abadar, labor for coin, not lives for coin!"
Searlas spends the next few minutes engaging in discourse with the crowd.

After his short speech, he joins up with the party and heads to meatgate.

You had Azuk in front of Warden, though I'd much rather have the meat shield eidolon in front from now on, please. Warden made his Perception check and used a move action in the surprise round to step around in front of (east of) Azuk (10 foot total movement), then his first combat round to move and attack (15 feet through difficult terrain).

I assume that there are still lots of people in the area and AoE spells and abilities would hit bystanders?

GM V |

Yes. Lots of innocent people here.
BG 1 seems to be readying for something. Reavis drinks an extract and warden wails on an enemy but his strike ends up wide.

I'm a little confused here, I thought Reavis received a surprise round action, which was drinking his extract.

"I'll try to keep this corridor safe..." Searlas says as he casts an amplified spell, his back carefully against the tent so to keep line of sight to the archer and nobody else.

"Reavis, here! See if you can get this to her!"
He then fumbles on his belt and pulls out a potion of cure light wounds, holding it out towards Reavis's prehensile tail.

![]() |

On his next turn, Dembar will fly the eff away, triple-moving away from the action (180ft), as he's only at 2HP and knows there's a magic missile-tosser. LOL

![]() |

"Keep your potion, I got this." Reavis replies to Searlas, as he pushes 15 ft. north through the crowd while drawing his Cure Light Wounds wand. Arriving at Hania, he uses his wand to heal her.

Currently on my phone and can't edit the map, could someone move Reavis 3 squares to the north?

![]() |

I'd have to switch back to non-bat form to do that, which would take a Standard action. Would be more action-economic to have Reavis heal me, if he's okay with it.

![]() |

Since you're conscious I can administer it to you as a standard action in bat form as long as you are next to me. I think Reavis can probably 1-shot someone with his grenadier special ability if he's got the ammo.

![]() |

Good call, in that case Dembar will move toward Searlas instead on his turn.

Heck, since you're flying you should even be able to fire off a spell while you're at it.
