“Close the door,” Ambrus Valsin murmurs as the team gathers in his office. “Let me start by saying, this mission is not for dissemination among other members of the Society.” The chamberlain of the Grand Lodge gives everyone a serious look in turn before continuing. “This mission is not an investigation, just a simple, straightforward assignment, but that makes it no less important.”

“I need you to book passage to the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, and cross over into Irrisen. You’re to head north and rendezvous with another team who have captured some—”Valsin pauses for a heartbeat before continuing. “—persons of interest. We have reason to believe that these individuals have information on the Shadow Lodge cells that are refusing to reconcile with the Society under Grandmaster Torch’s leadership.” Valsin’s expression becomes particularly grim at that point. “If these rogue cells are outright refusing amnesty, then they represent a clear threat to all of us. I need you to take charge of these captives and get them out of Irrisen safely and quietly. Once you’re clear of Irrisen, a larger extraction team will take custody of them and bring them in for questioning. Of course, we will cover the expense of your travel in full, and provide maps to lead you to the meeting point in Irrisen. Because of the nature of the mission and Irrisen itself, you’ll be meeting the other team in the field, away from what passes for civilization up there. The team you’ll be getting the prisoners from will show you the best route out of Irrisen, and the castellan of Trollheim has agreed to grant you passage through his lands. You are responsible for avoiding unexpected trouble between the handoff and Trollheim.”

Valsin gestures for the team to depart, but pauses, staring at his fireplace for a moment before adding, “Wait. You need to know this. Your prisoners will be goblins. The Shadow Lodge separatists made extensive use of the sadistic creatures as soldiers and servants, and as much as you may want to throttle them, please remember that we need them alive.” Then with a final nod for luck, the venture-captain dismisses the group.

You have time to ask a couple questions or make knowledge local or geography checks.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Understood, but I would like to suggest an idea. Malkvian starts talking excited I would like you to give me permission to interrogate these prissioners during our journey. I think I will be able to get more information than the other team by showing them my Lamashtu birthmark; they´ll think that I am their ally and goblins, as stupid as they are, will talk to me.

Malkvian says with a big smile Don´t you agree with me, Mister Valsin?

Map!

Attempting to not roll his eyes,How did we let a Lamashtan cleric into our ranks."I do not. Since you are not privy to the information we require and we do not have the time to review that information with a junior agent at this time. However, your other affiliations may help keep the goblins in line while you travel with them, but I suspect there reverence for Lamashtu to be not as great as you hope."

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

As you wish. Malkvian says to cover his disappointment, as he thinks he is the most suited form the work.

Grand Lodge

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric Iomedae L1

Greldon hides in shame as Malkvian speaks with Ambrus. And nods as the mission is explained.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Slayer 1

"That's no problem sir. Constantine said nodding at the instructions provided. "Do we know anything else or more specific about the separatists themselves? Their numbers or support in the area?

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Map!

Valsin looks thoughtful,"Well in the areas that we expect you to travel through, I do not expect you to run into much of anyone. The wilds of Irrisen are pretty barren other than the wild creatures and roaming monsters. The separtists are unlikely to make a rescue attempt, as they most probably assume we'd kill 'em before saving them and escorting them out of the country. That's the clever part of this plan."

KN:Local 15:

Goblins are insane and sadistic. They have a strong hatred of dogs and a fear of horses, both rivaled only by their unnatural love of fire and destruction.

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

Sumane tries not to show her revulsion at having to transport annoying, disgusting little goblins. "As suicidal as goblins are, keeping them alive will not be an easy task. But, if it's my assigned task, I will do my best."

Sovereign Court

Male Human (Taldan) Cavalier 1 (Gendarme) HP 11/11 | AC 17 | T 11 | FF 16 | CMD 15 | Fort +3 | Ref +1 | Will +0 | Init +3| Perc + 4| Sense Motive +4

Octavio listens intently, as Valsin details the plan. "Should be easy enough. Do we expect cooperation on the part of the captives?"

Grand Lodge

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

Sumane scoffs. "From goblins? We should expect more cooperation from an angry imp. We may need to tie them to each other just to get them to walk the right direction. Disgusting little creatures."

Sovereign Court

Male Human (Taldan) Cavalier 1 (Gendarme) HP 11/11 | AC 17 | T 11 | FF 16 | CMD 15 | Fort +3 | Ref +1 | Will +0 | Init +3| Perc + 4| Sense Motive +4

"Indeed, I assume that we shall have our work cut out for us on that front. However, some possess a small measure of intelligence and may see the benefit of cooperation. I certainly don't expect as much from the little beasts." Octavio takes this opportunity to inspect those that he will be travelling with, leveling his gaze at each in turn.

Map!

"While by no means civilized, these goblins think they are working for the Pathfinder Society, they will most likely believe they are caught in some sort of power struggle between the big bosses. It may even be possible to befriend the foul creatures."comments Valsin.

Get your last questions in soon, and/or make knowledge local or geography checks. Will advance the plot later this afternoon.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

After barely listening to anyone, Malkvian stands in place daydreaming about the refresing air of Sandpoint at this time of the year.

I just wanted an easy life. At least today´s mission will be relaxing. He murmurs.

Grand Lodge

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

No knowledge checks for Sumane, so she's ready to head out whenever.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Slayer 1

"We'll do the best to take care of them, and get them to where they need to be." Constantine said with a nod.

Constantine is ready to head out.

Grand Lodge

Human Bard (Celebrity) 1

"Interesting. I've never worked on goblins before ...their theater is ...well, actually sort of interesting. Once you get past the patois."

Map!

Valsin looks you over on last time."Good luck on this mission. Your boat leaves in an hour, please make haste to the docks. Make sure to purchase anything you might need while on the way. Once you get to Irrisen you aren't likely to find any shops."

With that the chance to question the VC ends. If you need to buy anything, like cold weather gear or anything else please let me know in the discussion thread. I think everyone is here so we are ready to move along.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Malkvian on his way to the docks sought after some cold weather wear, but then he realized that he had no money at all.

After realising this, he said: Stupid money and stupid mission. I knew all of this would eventually cause trouble.

Grand Lodge

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric Iomedae L1

Greldon will buy cold weather outfit.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Malkvian sees Greldon buying a cold weather outfit and that enpowers his fear of dying because of The extreme conditions of the weather in Frostfur. With shame marketing his face he aproaches the Group and says: Could somebody please lend me eight gold pieces to buy cold weather clothes? I don't have any money left and I think will need it. That or 2 gp per person.

Grand Lodge

Human Bard (Celebrity) 1

"Clothes make the man, Malkvian. Though I must admit I have not the coinage to purchase suitable warm clothes for you. I could chip in, though. Hate to see you lose that interesting look you've got there."

Dooley does buy for himself, though.

Grand Lodge

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

"I have plenty of gold. I'll buy two outfits, and you can use one. Never know when the extra one will come in handy in the future."

Sumane will instead buy TWO cold-weather outfits. Total of 16gp spent.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Slayer 1

" That's a good idea." Constantine said thinking about the cold weather gear. "I'll get an outfit too."

Constantine will join in on buying a cold-weather outfit for himself as well.

We lose anything that we bought in a previous module is that correct? Or is that just for found items? I'm not very familiar with PFS processes yet. I had purchased a Cold Weather gear during my last module (frozen monkey temple).

Octavio digs through his backpack looking to see if he still had that set of warm clothes he had purchased way back when. Things just never seemed to be at hand when you needed them...

If he does need to repurchase, then Octavio does so.

Grand Lodge

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

That's just for items you found. If you purchased something and used gold (or Prestige Points) for it, you get to keep that.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Malkvian aproaches the half orc woman and with haste and makes an exagerated reverence. Thank you very much fair lady. You can ask me for help at anytime; you have my trust. May Lamashtu or whatever god you worship reward you.

With a smile from ear to ear, the young adventurer accepts Sumane's cold weather clothes.

Map!

4.Arodus.4714 10:00:00AM
After a lengthy and rather boring trip up the river through the Land of the Linnorm Kings and Irrisen, and a solid 2 day march to Ragna Lightfoot's camp, you arrive a few hours after morning. Lightfoot’s camp stands approximately 53 miles north of the Rimeflow River and 6 miles east of the Iceflow River. Her team consists of six Ulfen rangers and druids, including Ragna Lightfoot herself.

As you approach, the camp is in the process of being taken down and packed away. A small group of goblins sit in a circle under the watch of a bear wearing armor. A tall Ulfen woman approaches. "You've finally arrived. I'm Ragna this is my camp. Welcome to Irrisen. Let me introduce you to your charges."says Ragna with a mix of impatience and relief.

She leads you over to the goblins and says,"All right you gobs, these nice people are going to escort you to Trollheim where you will start your new assignments. Now up you get and get moving."

With that, Ragna hands you a map, gestures at some large packs then heads back to the main camp area and gets to work packing camp. The bear looks at you and grins knowingly and meanders after her, leaving you to the goblins.

"Alright, now if we're supposed to take you on a journey, I want to know that you'll stick together and not wander off. Name yourselves, and then we're going to tie a rope between all of you. I know you'll be able to slip it if you want, but we'd ask that you keep the rope on yourself."

Sumane - Try a diplomacy check.

How about Intimidate instead? She's not much of a Diplomancer...

Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Map!

The goblins giggle at your attempt to coerce them, with sweet words and bitter body language. Though they are standing in what they consider to be marching order.

You really get the sense that intimidation is likely to be a poor route with the goblins in the long run.

Grand Lodge

Half-orc Kineticist (telekineticist) 1 | hp 2/12 [1 NL] | Burn 6/7 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | Fort +6, Ref +5, Will -1 | Init +3 | Intimidate +5, Perception +5

Sumane is too gruff to care about the goblins' feelings, and in a huff will leave the others to try to coerce them to follow.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Offended by the laughts of these goblins because of Sumane fair attempt to coerce them, Malkvian walks forward to confront these bastards. He thinks they would make a nice offer to Lamashtu, but quickly comes to his senses and with a warming voice says:

Okay guys, we must do our best to bring you to safety. I am Malkvian, a messenger of Lamashtu and as you all can see, I´m also a Pathfinder Society member. It´s really cool to be arround these guys, they are really funny and working with them is really badass.

And suddenly, he changes his voice to a very silly one.

I have an idea, why don´t we play a game during our journey? Let´s all walk at the same pace, okay?

Grand Lodge

Male Human Slayer 1

Constantine looks over the goblins, nodding at Malkvian. "The sooner we get a move on and if we keep moving together. The sooner we'll get to Trollheim, then we can all stop eating these dry travel rations and get a good lamb or steak."

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Seeing that Dooley is helping him, Malkvian blinks to the rest of the group inviting them to join the charade.

Map!

All six goblins, looking at Malkvian, approach him. A gleam of hunger in their eyes, they are all mumbling "...yum. Eats da horse..". They then line up, more properly and salute or curtsy or bow. Their is a strange confusion of actions as they all attempt to salute, curtsy, and bow all at the same time, managing to knock themselves over. In the ensuing scrum, there is much screaming, shouting, and biting.

After a few minutes they've managed to get back into marching order, one of the goblins steps forward, "We be Frostfur. You be bigjob boss. We good goblins. We follow Malk veee ahh nn, for now."

The map Ragna handed you, shows a route to the south that leads you to a village at a ford over the Rimeflow river, named Harvest's End.

Octavio shakes his head at that the scene in front of him, hiding his laughter. "This is sure to get interesting." he thinks to himself.

Saddling up onto Fortune, his statuesque steed Octavio takes to the rear of the formation. "I'll keep an eye out back here. Make sure we don't have any adventurers among the frostfur....ha-ha!"

Shadow Lodge

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric of Lamashtu 1

Yeah, I´m so clever!!, says to himself and, while looking at the goblins, he says: You can call me Malky if you wish, my friends. We´ll play some games on the way. Do you know any songs to sing? The first who comes up with one will be my lieutenant.

"Oh Nethys, please don't ask them to sing!" wails Sumane from up ahead.

Map!

With the sight of the horse, a sudden scream of terror explodes out of all six goblins at once. They all start running at top speed away in six different directions. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! HOOO AAAA RRRRSSSS! WEEEEE TRICKED! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRSSSSSS!! SAVE US!"

Oops. I sorta forget the Cavalier's horse. This is going to be fun and troubling. Most of the Cavs I play with, never even use their horse... sorry about this...
Oha and Malky, you are an evil evil man...

Malkvian quickly aproaches to Octavio and murmurs him: tell your horse to do what I say and then he shouts: Don't run you cowards, he is just a stupid horse we have to transport. Look, I will barely touch him and he will fall to the ground. He is as weak as a baby.

If Octavio agrees, he will barely touch the horse with his gauntlet.

Map!

As the goblins flee in terror, Sumane manages to catch one of the goblins, a female it turns out. She squirms and wriggles and bites Sumane.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

As the goblin tastes blood, a look of horror crosses her face. She goes completely still, and starts whining,"Don't kills mees. I just scare. Not mean bite."She begins to wail and cry pitifully, not wanting to get killed or beaten.

With the wailing of their companion, the other goblins stop their made dash to find out what was wrong. With this pause, Ragna's group is able to catch up to the goblins, so they can't run further.

Fortune being so well trained and intelligent, lowers itself to the ground.

Malkvian make a diplomacy check. Octavio have fortune roll a bluff check to aid. Octavio may assist as well
