Welcome to the Overseer thread for 7-00! In this thread, I'll be posting announcements relevant to all the players. I ask that individual players and GMs please do not post in this Gameplay thread. (There'll be an exception to this - keep reading.)

SCHEDULE
This game starts on August 27th and ends on October 11th - whether you fully succeed at your mission or not. Because of this, please be considerate of your fellow players at your table and at other tables. Try to make an effort to be posting every day. We understand that life happens and that posts may not happen every day, but we would like to see you experience as much of the content available as possible. Your individual GM is aware of this timeframe and has their own expectations for what your activity should be during their game. Follow their lead.

MAP
The map for the special will be available at this website. Currently it is showing a giant snake eating the Grand Lodge, but that will be replaced with the map once the special gets started. There will be commentary under the map indicating what conditions are currently in play for those that have trouble with the map/use screen readers/etc.

If you know a bit how websites work you may be able to poke around the website and find some materials that will be posted later in the scenario. Please don't. You'll just be spoiling yourself.

AID TOKENS
When we finish up the introduction, I will roll to see what tables start out with an aid token. The text for the Aid Tokens is included in the below spoiler:

Aid Token Details:

Aid Another: A Pathfinder agent helps the PCs solve a puzzle, disable a trap, or accomplish some other task as if performing the aid another action for a PC. In Subtiers 5–6 and 7–8, the bonus granted increases by 1. In Subtier 10–11, the bonus increases by 2.
Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as the PC, increasing the damage dealt by one attack by 1d8 points. In addition, after the attack, anyone attacking the target is considered to be flanking it until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn. In Subtiers 5–6 and 7–8, increase the damage dealt to 2d8 points. In Subtier 10–11, this amount increases to 3d8 points.
Burst of Healing: A Pathfinder agent heals all of the PCs of 1d6 points of damage. In Subtiers 5–6 and 7–8, the amount healed increases to 3d6 points. In Subtier 10–11, the amount healed increases to 5d6 points. Alternatively, in any subtier the agent can instead cast neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease with a caster level equal to the table’s APL (minimum 5).
Spellcasting Synergy: A Pathfinder agent casts a spell at the same time as the PC, increasing the save DC and caster level of the PC’s spell by 1. In Subtiers 7–8 and 10–11, the PC’s caster level instead increases by 2.
Timely Inspiration: A Pathfinder agent provides the effects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds. In Subtiers 1–2 and 3–4, the competence bonus is +1. In Subtiers 5–6 and 7–8, the competence bonus increases to +2. In Subtier 10–11, the competence bonus increases to +3.

At the end of an encounter in which you use an aid token, pass the aid token to another table. You may also decide to pass your aid token in the middle of an encounter if you haven't used it yet. Passing Aid Tokens is subject to the following restrictions:
- You may not pass the aid token back to the table you got it from.
- You may not pass an aid token to the same table twice, unless the other rules make it impossible for this to happen. (There's 31 tables. I'd be surprised, but I'll mention it just in case.)
- You may not pass an aid token to a table that has a player/GM from your game as a player/GM of that game.
- A table can only have one aid token at a time.

To pass an aid token, copy and paste the template below and post it in this thread, replacing the <#> with the appropriate table numbers.
Table #<#> is passing their aid token to table #<#>.

Please make an effort to use/pass your Aid Tokens around. While it may be tempting to save them, there are going to be a lot of them floating around, and an Aid Token that is just sitting there isn't providing any benefit to anyone.

Get excited! It's only a couple days until The Sky Key is activated!

Gatherings of Pathfinders always bring great excitement and great anticipation. They also usually take place in more interesting places than a mildly muddy field outside of Absalom.

Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shane observes the Pathfinder agents arriving into the field and calls out "“Yes, Pathfinders. A lot of you, certainly. Lovely! Well, find your places in an orderly fashion. We’ve got some truly exciting news today and I can’t wait to get started!”

Dice Rolls for Aid Token Placement, not secret:

15d33 ⇒ (23, 27, 17, 26, 11, 1, 17, 7, 10, 7, 28, 10, 21, 23, 9) = 237

Tables 1, 7, 9, 10, 11, 17, 21, 23, 26, 27, and 28 start with Aid Tokens. These are the tables being GMed by GMAerondor, GMZoomba, GMTyranius, GMLamplighter, nightdeath, GMHmm, Magabeus, shadowhntr7, not2fear, GMDinuci, and GayelNord.

Why do you need aid tokens? That post coming up momentarily...

Sovereign Court

Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls and de facto Master of Spells in the wake of Aram Zey’s untimely assassination, steps forward. A broad smile graces his youthful, elven features, and his golden hair shines in the sunlight.

“Welcome, my countless eager scholars! Today we are about to witness a wondrous and strange new chapter in the Pathfinder Society’s history. But first, please everyone take a moment of silence to remember our lost Master of Spells and my close friend, Aram Zey. While many of you found his manner abrasive, he fully believed in the Society’s goals of exploration and cooperation, and I know his loss will be deeply felt by us all.” After a moment, Kreighton Shaine continues.

“You may have heard rumors about the Sky Key, an artifact coveted by the dwarves of Jormurdun. A few of you even managed to recover pieces of it. But—and this is the important part—the Sky Key is no dwarven relic. The dwarves found this artifact in one of Numeria’s many wrecks and struggled to master its abilities just as we have spent the past several months doing. But now… now we have this assembled... wonder.”

The Master of Scrolls pulls back a canvas tarp, revealing… a bed of withered roses.

“The Key itself is secure in a small chamber we’ve constructed below this field, and it is connected to the surface here by a series of adamantine rods and mithral cables.” He taps a dark metal shaft beside him. “This formerly-award-winning bed of roses, however, we have left sitting here for two weeks without sun or water.”

His hands weave an arcane pattern, and arcs of lightning leap from his fingertips to the rod. A chest-shaking hum rises from somewhere below, and a bubble of green light enfolds the roses, revealing a flower bed of vibrant reds, purples, and yellows where only withered brown stood moments before.

“This is the power of the Sky Key: It creates a window into the past. No longer will the Society have to pick at the precious few scraps history leaves behind. Instead we can watch the greatest moments of Golarion’s history unfold before our eyes! We can watch the Eventongue Rebellion shatter Taldor into a dozen smaller states. We can witness Irrisen before the coming of Baba Yaga, or study the godcallers of Sarkoris before the Worldwound. We can witness the Starstone plunge Golarion into an age of endless night, or watch Aroden himself pull Kortos from the sea in its wake. Anything we want, we can study. And all it requires is lightning!

“Unfortunately, we must content ourselves with study. While our modern forms can enter these temporal bubbles unaffected—” he reaches a hand into the shimmering energy and plucks a rose. Pulling it from the iridescent field, the flower ages and crumbles into dust, “—anything removed collapses under the weight of time itself. We can witness anything we like, but any treasures of history, or great figures, belong to their own age, beyond our reach.”

“It takes the magic of one accomplished wizard to reach back thirteen days. How far, then, do you imagine twenty will reach? A hundred?” Several other teams across the field begin assembling adamantine rods. “Our math says: The Age of Serpents, some tens of thousand years before the present. And that is where all of you come in. If this works—and it will, mind you—then we estimate we’ll have four to five hours to see what Kortos looked like at the dawn of the Azlanti Empire, when our earliest ancestors still warred with the serpentfolk empire of old. We need all the eyes and ears the Society can muster to take notes and make observations. Oh, and keep those eyes and ears from getting killed. Anything in the bubble can’t get out, but these roses... they still have thorns.”

He nods, and Pathfinders across the field begin casting spells, directing arcs of lightning into the waiting sky metal rods. Something deep below the earth thrums, and across the field a massive bubble takes shape, expanding to reveal a cube of earth and stone hundreds of feet to a side, as if sliced from the land and laid out in celebration. Low, stone buildings peek over from the very top, while networks of caves riddle the lowest level. Ophidian faces peer out, then retreat back into the darkness.

“It seems the ground level was a bit higher before the Starstone drove it into the sea,” Shaine observes. “Regardless. We have three-hundred and seven minutes remaining. Let’s make the most of it!”

GMs, you may begin Part 2. (I will be coming around and posting momentarily.)

The Pathfinders have worked their way through the Temple Interior, and have discovered that the serpentfolk are performing some kind of ritual in a basement level called the Ophidian Rectory. Perhaps if you rush there you can learn all about the serpentfolk's ancient sacrificial techniques.

Oh, also potentially save some people. That could be important too.

The Temple Interior is now claimed and the Ophidian Rectory is now discovered! Can we stop the ritual in time? The map is now updated with both the district unlock and the recent aid token transfers. Remember, you still count as one subtier higher for the purpose of your aid token benefits!

I was just looking at the different Aid Tokens transactions and it looks like a few tables might be (accidentally) holding multiple Aid Tokens, and that there are more Aid Tokens than either the map or the initial roll indicates.

Currently as far as I can tell, (the number in parenthesis is how many they have gotten total so far):

Table 01 = 0 (3)
Table 02 = 1 (1)
Table 03 = 1 (1)
Table 04 = 0 (1)
Table 05 = 0 (1)
Table 06 = 0 (1)
Table 07 = 0 (1)
Table 08 = 1 (1)
Table 09 = 0 (1)
Table 10 = 0 (1)
Table 11 = 1 (1)
Table 12 = 1 (1)
Table 13 = 0 (0)
Table 14 = 0 (1)
Table 15 = 0 (1)
Table 16 = 0 (0)
Table 17 = 0 (1)
Table 18 = 0 (0)
Table 19 = 3 (3) Might be an discrepancy here as it seems that Table 19 sent an Aid Token to two different tables
Table 20 = 1 (1)
Table 21 = 1 (1)
Table 22 = 0 (0)
Table 23 = 1 (1)
Table 24 = 0 (2)
Table 25 = 0 (0)
Table 26 = 0 (1)
Table 27 = 0 (1)
Table 28 = 0 (1)
Table 29 = 0 (0)
Table 30 = 0 (2)
Table 31 = 2 (2)
Table 32 = 1 (1)
Table 33 = 0 (0)

It also seems that Tables 11, 21, & 23 have had Aid Tokens sine the beginning that have gone untouched, While Table 2 has had one for a while as well.

Partial Aid Token Explanation:
The tables that appeared to have multiple aid tokens from IAMMARS's initial roll each really only received one. IAMMARS kept rolling until he had 11 unique table numbers -- one third of the tables participating in the special.

Everyone, if you have an aid token, encourage your players to use it now, and then move it. They do no good if hoarded. The more they move around, the more effective they are. Move them to a table which has not gotten an aid token yet, using Beckett's marvelous list.

Right now, tables 13, 16, 18, 22, 25, 29 and 33 could all use some love!

It didn't dawn on me that GM Aerondor was actually Table 1, so I messed up here, thinking the Aid Token had possibly gone out to 2 different tables. That should account for 2 of the 3 extra Aid Tokens that seem to be in play.

I'll take another look, to see if I messed up or misunderstood something else, but it still seems that there is an extra Aid Token currently in play.

And I now have a functional computer! Let’s look into how the aid tokens have gone around this special.

This is how the Aid Tokens have gone so far:

I’ve bolded the one pass because that pass is illegal. Ethelnir, you should change what table you’re passing your Aid Token to.

As far as I can tell, there is no phantom aid token. Everything’s accounted for.

On that note, DM Beckett has the list of tables right that haven’t received an Aid Token yet. (13, 16, 18, 22, 25, 29, 33) I would highly recommend that if you’re looking to pass an aid token off, that it would be great if you could pass it off to one of the tables that hasn’t seen one yet this game.

In addition, tables 11, 21 and 23 have had an aid token for the entire game. It’d be great if you guys could either pass it or use it soon. (This would be nightdeath’s, Magabeus’ and shadowhntr7’s tables.)

Keep up the good work everybody! I’ve been having fun reading the threads when I can. Everyone’s doing excellent work!

I didn't check, but I suspected that those tables may not have even known about it, (perhaps playing at a different location like Roll20 or Myth-Weavers), and I do remember seeing one table in the lineup that was a completely Spanish-speaking group, who also may not be aware that they have one.

As for the idea of passing a token to those that haven't gotten one, may I suggest simply going down the line, just to make sure that everyone gets a chance to try them out.

A crack of thunder and the tang of ozone cut through the complex. The figures before you, and indeed the walls, the floor, even the air itself seem to crumble and fall away like glittering sands through an hourglass. Unfamiliar figures—their heavy, hooded robes embroidered with the symbol of a winged eye—stand about the field, their hands crackling with lightning. Dozens of Pathfinder spellcasters lie dead at their feet. A gargantuan image of a woman appears and shimmers like a desert mirage. She has a regal bearing, but her features are lined as if by years of endless duty.

”Arrogant Pathfinders! Your ridiculous Society spends fortunes and lives to reassemble a treasure that turns time itself like the pages of a book—a key that could undo all the misery and suffering our world now knows—and you use it for this? Poking at snakes and playing at heroism? Golarion knew a true hero once! Our Lord Aroden—who raised the Starstone from the sea and imprisoned the undead tyrant Tar-Baphon—could already walk the world again were it not for your petty games and delays. Every death in your hours of playtime now hangs as a weight around your collective necks, you spoiled children.
“I am Lady Arodeth, and on behalf of the Harbingers of Fate and the God of Mankind himself, I have seized your Sky Key. Its defenders threw their lives away trying to stop compassion and destiny from returning to this world. I advise you not to throw your own lives away attempting to do the same.
“Behold the return of the Last Azlanti! Behold Aroden!”

Table GMs, you may begin Act 3.

As a reminder to everyone, this scenario ends at Midnight Eastern US Time, when October 11th becomes October 12th. You should work on resolving anything bad that happens by then. I mean, not that this is bad or anything.

Time Zones:
To make this perfectly clear, I am in the US Eastern Daylight Time Zone, which is UTC-4. Convert to your time zone as necessary.
