round 1 - put scimitar away and pull out Wand of CLW
round 2 to 5 - use the Wand 4 times and put the Wand away

Otherwise, tell me at which round things go South.

Pyra moves to heal herself, while remaining in front of the Golem in case things go bad.

It takes about an hour, but Jair eventually figures out the runes. With a bit of work she thinks she can activate the ring gate to take the team to the library. However as she starts trying it she feels some resistance - and a kind of emphatic question about whether you are sure you want to open the gate.

With a mental signal the gate is activated, and the team, along with Saruna, step through into the library of the Sages.

A cool breeze swirls off the water of a vast underground lake surrounding this location, carrying the scent of old parchment from the vast library. To the north, three statues appear to support an immense crystal. Constellations shine in the darkness above, while a luminous solar disk drifts slowly north to south, brightening the library with golden light. A door to the south leads into a small building.

As you step out, a ripple seems to travel through the cavern, and the massive solar disk starts to rapidly hurtle towards the ground...

You estimate you have two minutes... starting now.

Lem wields his wand. Obviously practised from his earlier endeavors, the cleaver halfling brings down the wall of force.

Those of you who have visited the sanctum in the past Done destiny of the sands 3 recognize another figure - a hound of Tindalos appearing in the spacial anomaly. However as the forcefield comes down and the beacon is used to command the sun, it fades from view.

So in theory the hound could have attacked half way through your negotiations, but at this stage I have taken a DM fiat to have it arrive just after (which is still within its random interval time). It was going to attack at the end of the round, but with the forcefield down, it poses no real threat to you in and of itself - just a delay to something that was very important to happen.

As Jair commands the sun, it continues to fall, but slows as it does so. With quick thinking the other pathfinders remember the command for the statue of Ptah and use it to erect a temporary wall of force to keep the sun away from the beacon. It only holds for a few seconds, but by that stage the sun has all but lost its force, and starts to slowly ascend back into the sky.

Well done everyone!

Lantern Lodge

"The one known as the Amethyst Sage." says the mechanical creature. Another figure in the distance, larger and more ominous, looms forward. This is another similar looking (albeit humanoid) creature. "He has commited many crimes. "

The 'centaurs' inform you that "The Jeweled Sages are criminals rebelling against the legitimate Keleshite authorities." the other creature adds in "I have separate orders to bring him to justice for unnatural extension of his life. "

"Just how long have you been down here? The Keleshite Empire no longer rules Osirion as a satrapy - it is an independent nation once again, and the Sages are (by and large) respected members of that society, for their role in preserving Osiriani heritage. You may want to update your information; does a charge still stick even when the current legitimate authorities no longer recognise it?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36.

"We would need to see evidence that legitimate authories had changed." says the second centaur.

The larger creature adds "Which changes my charges not at all."

While debating with the creatures you explore the small room near where you arrived, which turns out to be bathhouse.

This rest area provides water and bathing facilities for sages and their acolytes. Cabinets hold incense and soap for ritual cleansing before handling any of the materials in the library. A metal mirror frame depicts men and women in erotic and tortured poses.
