Lyana retaliates against the sailor wearing the grey headband.

If grey is dead, she will circle to the left and move into a flanking position against yellow for a +2 bonus to atk.

Nyalla flies into a rage as she swings back at the gnoll.

Bart delivers a massive blow to the gnoll. But this is a Slaver Gnoll, and he has had worse before.

The grey sailor slumps to the ground from Lyana's first blow, and then takes out the yellow one with a second.

Nyalla, bleeding heavily returns the favour to the gnoll. He almost side steps it. But Nyalla has seen slavers use that exact move before and was ready for it. Her greatsword slices off its arm and the gnoll falls.

The rest of the sailors, stunned by the quick disposal of the gnoll back away...

If you let them, they will flee and the combat is over.

Nyalla leans on her greatsword, breathing heavily. After a moment she produces a wand and taps herself with it a few times.

Once Nyalla healed, Galant moves to the below deck, where the noise of schakles is heard.

The team heads down into the bowels of the ship.

Chained the length of the ship, two to a bench, are 50 filth encrusted oar slaves bleeding from lacerations and open sores and slumped in sleep or exhaustion. The benches form a five-foot-wide aisle down the center of the galley, constricting movement in all but three areas: a 10-foot diameter around the main mast, slightly fore of midship, and the extreme ends of the galley which hold rooms.

A gnoll, and a familiar slaver stand at the far end of the slave deck.

Looking at the bow of the ship Devonalia mentions casually "that is a tough shot from this distance. If one of them is a caster we should spread out more."

Nyalla moves forward, letting her greatsword drag in one hand and drawing a javelin as she does. Then she hurls it at the gnoll and readies her greatsword once again.

The gnoll howls in pain as Amelie's arrows sink deeply into him. Nyalla however misses, though exactly how she missed such a large target baffles her. Must be his armour.

The gnoll does have reach, he is Large size. He didn't get an AOO when Bart closed as Bart didn't get close enough. His size wasn't too obvious in the dim light of the hold until folk got closer.

Aimelie sends another arrow into the gnoll, who is starting to look like a pincushion.

Cautious of the gnolls long arms, Lyana steps forward.

I'll hold off NPCing Devonalia for a day, but if she dones't post by the weekend, I'll have her try to shoot the gnoll.

A single arrow shoots through the gloom, piercing the gnolls heart. He looks down, disbelieving even as the massive axe slips from his fingers.

The hold erupts in cheers and pleas for freedom!

apologies. this has been the longest redeployment i have ever experienced.

After shooting the arrow Devonalia scans for any more threats. "Gnolls are cunning. Be careful." she tells the others.

There are around fifty slaves clamoring for freedom...

"Help us...!" come their pitiful cries.

Galant moves towards Pils, stabilizing him and looking for keys.

Don't worry, we will free you quickly friends ! he says to the slaves still chained.

Where is the woman we are looking for ? I don't think she's chained to the bench. May be somewhere else on the boat ?

You find keys on the gnoll, and can easily release the lock blocks at the end of the rows. The slaves all bolt for freedom!

Nyalla sheathes her sword as she steps over the gnoll's body.

She looks at Galant tending to Pardu Pildapush. "I used the flat of my blade. He is in no danger."

She tries to open the door from behind which the sounds issue.

If it does not open, she rages and attempts to kick the door down.

The wood splinters. Behind it is what can only be described as a punishment cell. A bedraggled looking woman is restrained there.

"Are you Lady Salhar? We are from the Pathfinder Society and have been sent to rescue you." She kneels down next to the woman to see if she's hurt and administer aid.

She is battered and bruised, but essentially unharmed. Once released she confirms she is indeed Lady Anilah. "I owe you all a favor I can never replay" she cries.

"Do you know of any more threats in this area?" Devonalia asks rather bluntly.

Nyalla breathes hard after kicking down the door. She looks at Lady Anilah.

"You can start by freeing any slaves you or your husband own, and promising to never purchase more."

"of.. of course... Though I'm not sure that I can release my husbands. But after this, I'm sure he will see things differently.."

You take her back to the Grand Lodge, and pass her to the care of VC Alissa Moldreserva. She eyes you up and down "“You handled that well. Guess I had you wrong. The lot of you may prove useful to the Society yet. Get yourselves a drink, on me.”
