Lars invokes the power of the spoken word:"We few, we happy few. We band of brothers. For he today that shed his blood with me shall be my brother..."[/b] and steps a bit further into the room.
/b]Elenial[. tells the others what she knows about the woman. [b]"I think it's a penangallen. Don't use normal weapons here, they are useless. Does any of you have a silver slashing weapon? And be careful, up there is a floating beheaded. I think it's her familiar." She takes out a tanglefoot bag and throws it at the woman, hitting and coating the creature with a layer of goo which quickly hardens.
Minasako the penangallen finishes shedding her body, which remains stuck to the floor. The tanglefoot bag continues to impede her slightly, but she levitates up to near the ceiling (altitude 10 feet) and laughs. "You will all die here!" she cackles evilly.
Hailey moves into the room and displays her holy symbol and sends a burst of radiant energy washing over the floating heads.

Both heads burn in the cleansing light, and the smell of seared flesh nearly overpowers the odor of vinegar. Minasako seems relative well-off, but the beheaded bursts into flames, the mummified skin and hair burning like a torch. It is still animate, but very badly damaged. Minasako shrieks in anger, and focuses her attention on Hailey.
Mantis casts a spell and moves up to the woman's head. "Immortality is not for those on this world. For your evil deeds you will hope for shorter time in the next world." He displays his blade. "Seek to harm me or my allies and you shall get there sooner than you like."
Grabbing his silver handaxe, Morde smiles wickedly at the ugly thing. "Come over... let us dance!" He swings at the penangallen, hitting her! Which the penangallen takes some damage, the wound almost instantly heals as a backlash of negative energy drains Morde's life essence!

Lars closes with the enemy. "Foul creature, I challenge you to combat mortal. I swear thy destruction is at hand!" Lars strikes at the enemy with his spear! The creature's hide seems unnaturally tough, though, and the spear seems to do no damage.
Elenial pulls a bottle from her pocket. "Let's try this. I have two of them." She hurls a bottle of holy water at the penangallen. It strikes, and the blessed liquid burns the creature's skin.
Minasako drifts away from the closest attackers, and mouths words of arcane might. Watching her entrails twitch to fulfill the somatic components of the spell is particularly disturbing. "I summon the tendrils of the Dark Tapestry to crush you!" As she does so, you can see the burn marks from Elenial's holy water begin to fade as her skin spontaneously heals itself.
From the floor near the door, a tiny black spot of absolute nothingness tears itself through the floor. Erupting from the hole, a flood of writhing tentacles pour through, spreading throughout most of the room, grasping for you!
The tentacles grapple Hailey, Elenial, and Barry the wolf.
As Talathel climbs up the side of the tub, he opens himself to attack. The penangallen whips her entrails at him, striking with a wet, sickly sound. Luckily, Talethel's magical protections prevent any damage. He can smell the odor of vinegar mixed with an evil, slimy secretion that he bets would not be good for the skin.

Hailey concentrates intently and casts a spell on herself, which causes the tentacles to slip off of her.
Mantis moves to the womanpendandanglingbits and climbs the tub. The creatures flops its entrails at him but he avoids the damage. "Your pride has led you to evil ways sorcerer. You can end it, or we can." Talathel's blade bites deeply into the penangallen's entrails, and she shrieks in anger.
Morde climbs up and into the tub and attacks again with his silver handaxe, slicing the creature's entrails again.

Elenial tries to break free of the tentacles, but is held fast. Barry the Wolf also struggles but the dark tentacles wrap even tighter around the animal.
The tentacles continue to writhe and whip around the room, trying to crush the life out of everyone within their reach. The tentacles keep Elenial and Barry locked in their embrace, and also ensnare Lars and Talathel! Hailey seems able to dance between the tentacles with ease, though.
Minasako cackles in delight as the tentacles wrap around you. "That should keep you busy, so I can take my time with each of you!" She focuses her attention on Hailey, giving her the evil eye. Hailey feels her willpower drain away, leaving her open to further attacks.
The mummified head suddenly bursts into action, hurling itself headlong at Lars, but missing.
Hailey, Mantis, Morde are up!
Attacking again morde trys to make the best of the situation.

Hailey now able to cast freely seeing Elenial almost get crushed into a bloody pulp quickly casts an liberating command spell (immediate action - for an immediate action for Elenial to try an escape artist check with a +14 bonus to try to escape the tentacles
Hailey channels positive energies through the room intending to damage the fool undead
(DC 22 will save for half damage (10 damage less if not undead and only a DC 20 will save)

Hailey quickly casts a spell to aid Elenial , freeing her from the tentacles. She then channels positive energies through the room. The mummifed head bursts into flame again, burning to ash in seconds. Minasako's flesh also sears and burns, fillign the room with an acrid stench.
Mantis wriggles free of the tenatcles, draws his second blade, and taunts the undead abomination. "By his silver scales I will make this as quick as I can."
Morde, unable to reach the penangallen, delays until he has an opening.

Elenial, still trapped by the tentacles, pulls her second bottle of holy water out of her belt, and hurls it at the monster. The tentacles throw off her aim, though, and the bottle strikes the wall to the left of the penangallen.
The tentacles continue to grapple and pound on Elenial and Barry.
The wolf gives a final howl and drops unconscious.
Minasako hisses at Hailey. "I will deal with you next!" She then intones words of arcane power. A jet of flame erupts from her eyes, engulfing Mantis, Lars and Morde!
Basically, everyone is up - Morde and Lars are on delay, and everyone else can declare their actions as well.
Morde will delay and wait for his chance to charge the beast.

Talathel... just destroys the penangallen, his blows tearing the entrails from the head and scattering them around the room. Minasako's shrieks turn from anger to fear, and then cease altogether.
The house seems to shudder as its corrupting influence is destroyed. Unfortunately, the tendrils grappling Elenial and Barry are still there.

Hailey quickly casts a spell to aid Elenial [dice=Escape Artist - Elenial]1d20+15, freeing her from the tentacles. She then channels positive energies through the room. The mummifed head bursts into flame again, burning to ash in seconds.
Mantis will try and get to the wolf with his final lay on hands

"I can heal it..but I'm afraid the tentacles will just keep crushing the life out of it..I think it will be a better course of action to try to free it from the tentacles first"
But to give the wolf a fighting chance Hailey moves up next to him and converts a Shield Other spell into a cure moderate wounds
Barry is still a valid target for a cure spell, and with the healing spell and your plan to get it out of the tentacles, you manage to free the wolf and keep clear until the spell effect ends. We'll say it takes 2 rounds, and with Elenial and Hailey not likely to be grappled, the only damage is to Barry.
As the tentacles fade back into the dark realm from whence they came, Barry is at 0hp and conscious (but staggered).

"Well, that was a most unpleasant encounter. But we triumphed! It was a fight worthy of song and story, eh Morde Chai? I would gladly offer to help tend to Barry's wounds if you like. I wish that I had more magical ability, I might have freed both him and you, Elenial. I sincerely hope that you are both alright."
"Now, I fear we must make certain no other threats remain here. I suspect that hideous creature was responsible for the deaths that lead to the haunting of this place. But best to be sure, and we can turn in a complete report to the Grand Lodge."
Lars begins to take notes on their discoveries thus far. He includes the mist-shrouded creature outside. The magical wayang, then haunted rooms (including where ghosts tried to drown him). Then he writes down the details of their last encounter, making special note of Mantis' bravery and skill. He will also search the room.
The room contains a desk with a number of documents scattered about. Most are quite old, and all are written in Tien. The one recent book seems to be a diary of some kind, also written in Tien. The headless corpse of Minasako is also present, although it seems to have been dead for a long time. When you saw her in town as a serving wench, her body did not appear this way, and so you surmise there must be some sort of masking magic which conceals the creature when it "wears" its body.
The only other room on this floor appears to be a bedroom, although with furniture sized for a small creature (likely the wayang). A small and rumpled futon sits in the corner, next to a low table covered dirty cups and plates. Books are casually strewn about the floor, and the entire room reeks of incense. Under the bed, you find a heavy tome full of arcane writing, as well as another journal of recent origin, this one written in strange symbols which are unlike any language you are familiar with. (Will update map tonight)
"I will make a tale from this encounter... a tale to woe women and excite children."
The journal seems to be the diary of the wayang wizard, Daikkakal. In it, he documents his time with the penangallen, helping her to maintain her hideous unlife through luring victims to the house for her to toy with and then drain of blood. He also was secretly taking ntoes on the proces by which she became undead, which involves the betrayal and torture of her former lover (whose head she animated as her familiar), as well as her betrayal of the organization which met here, the Way of the Kirin. In the journal, you recognize many of the scenes which were lpayed out by haunts: she poisoned the bathing pool and then invited many memebrs of the Way to bath, then watched them become paralyzed and slowly drown; she blinded her lover and then lured him to fall off the balcony, and other horrible deeds.
The larger book is not translated by your spell; given the fact that the wayang was a wizard, this is likely his spell book.
