Talathel killed his first Red Mantis Assassin at the age of 12 when the assassin attacked his human father. The half-elf kept the sawtooth blade that wove a nasty dance and hypnotized his father. Fortunately the dance also kept the assassin's focus where Talathel could place an arrow in his head.

When the second assassin arrived Talathel was not so lucky.

He never did learn why his father was a large enough target to command the attention of the famous guild, but he didn't need to. The assassins earned his ire. He does not seek revenge. The man who killed his father was not an enemy, but that fact only seemed to make the killing colder. Now Talathel follows DIETY, and takes every opportunity to prevent murders, by removing those who actively would commit them.
