GM Dinketry |
Hello! You've been selected for this game because of your creative character and your sound PbP history. Congratulations!
Please tell me a few things:
Your name (for the Chronicle)
Character Name
PFS Number & Character Number
Faction
Track (Normal vs. Slow)
Dayjob Roll or Faction Card goal efforts
If you need the Season 9 Faction Cards, it's a free download HERE.
Also, be sure that you're square on this being a Standard game (NOT CORE).
Your APL (average party level) is 1.5, so you're squarely in the lower tier for this game.
I'll use the avatar associated with your character name for maps unless you tell me otherwise.
Cool? We'll start when all six of you have checked in.

Sovereign Court
Normal
No Day Job and I have not tracked my Faction Goals, unfortunately. I downloaded the Faction cards and plan to start now.
Need to do a slight update to my online profile when I get home tonight. I recently applied a chronicle.
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
Name: Aaron Poehls
PFS#: 4249-8
Faction: TALDOR!
Track: Normal
Dayjob: Pfft... those are for the working class!
Marcus is a Kitsune who is generally in his human form. This will so be apparent to the party soon enough, but for now he has +17 to disguise (27 on take-10) to pass as a human in this particular form. Also he professes his allegiance to Taldor, not the Sovereign court. His support of Lady Gloriana Morilla over the Taldan nobility is generally kept secret when at all possible unless he's certain that he's dealing with other members of the Sovereign Court. Lastly, his family lineage is of utter unimportance, yet he will insist that everyone should know of his estate and his father. His father owns a small beat up manor and is a glorified tax collector. To make matters worse, Marcus is illegitimate (obviously as he's a Kitsune).
Lady Finley |
Your name (for the Chronicle) CariMac
Character Name Lady Finley
PFS Number & Character Number 110249-10
Faction: Sovereign Court
Track (Normal vs. Slow) Normal
Dayjob Roll or Faction Card goal efforts: Craft Alchemy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
The Gray Maiden |
Name:The Voice of Mag
Character Name: The Gray Maiden
Pathfinder Society Number: 291919-4
Faction: Sovereign Court
Track: Slow
Dayjob Roll: Entrepreneur, Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
As nearly all combats will be done in her Vigilante Form, it's better to use the avatar for The Gray Maiden rather than Amelia.
Badriyah Hameedah |
Thanks for the invite. Checking in...
Player Name: Tareth
Character Name: Badriyah Hameedah
PFS Number - Character Number: 129012-2
Faction: - Scarab Sages
Track: Normal
Dayjob Roll: Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Lovissa Halenbane |
Player Name: meloriel
Character Name: Lovissa Halenbane
PFS Number & Character Number : 276820-2
Faction: Grand Lodge
Track: Normal
Dayjob Roll or Faction Card goal efforts: No day job. Which faction goal she's aiming for this session is yet to be determined.
I'm just waiting on my chronicle sheet to be given to me for a session Lovissa finished a few days ago. I'll have her appropriately updated on my alias by tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Ok. Everyone has checked in. If you could send me a PDF of the character sheet that you’ll be using for this scenario (updated) and all, please do so with all haste at we.be.dunedinpfs@gmail.com. Thank you!

I'll be at work most of today, but will send one once I'm home. In the meantime, my profile should have all the info that appears on a profile sheet.

Same here. I can send a PDF tonight but my profile is updated.

As far as untrained Knowledge skills go, my ruling is the following:
Anyone can Take 10 as long as they're not under stress (i.e. combat, etc). You cannot succeed at a DC 11 or higher Knowledge check untrained. If you have an Intelligence penalty, that comes out of your final roll. Some characters just have less to work with, after all.
I don't think rolling is worthwhile for untrained checks like that. Otherwise, the character with the Knowledge might fail just as easily as the untrained person at a DC 10 check. I cannot find a readily-available FAQ on this, so I won't bother continuing to look. It appears to a contentious topic.
I'll go with my ruling unless someone else finds an official stance from Paizo that contradicts it.

For the record: I think being a Gray Maiden with a split personality is AMAZING.
Twenty thumbs up.
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
The Mythweavers sheet in my profile is currently my most official sheet as he's been played exclusively in PbP thus far.
Amelia Diranesti |
For the record: I think being a Gray Maiden with a split personality is AMAZING.
Twenty thumbs up.
Thank you! I saw the Masked Maiden Vigilante and the idea was too good to pass. I'm really enjoying the talkative nature of Lovissa, there's a lot of interaction.
GM Dinketry |
Thank you everyone for sending me copies of your character sheets. Marcus, I found yours.
Amelia and Giovanni, when you can, would you mind sending me a copy of your character sheet? I like to keep my files straight in my offline computer for my PbP games.
Thanks all!

Whoops, didn't get home until late last night, it slipped my mind, I'll shoot you over one this afternoon.
Badriyah Hameedah |
Lovissa, thanks for the thumbs up on Badriyah's damsel. I also wanted to say that this has been a great group to jump back into PbP after a five year break. I'm really enjoying all of the various character quirks and personalities.
Lovissa Halenbane |
Thanks! Lovissa's one of my favourite characters to play.
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
The long-term goal of this character is to pick up the Kitsune Style feats, Greater Dirty Trick, and Vulpine Pounce.
Clearly this is an optimized Barbarian.
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
Do you think it'd be a good idea to have a separate alias for Marcus's fox form? I was thinking about doing that so it's clear what Marcus looks like and acts like in each post, but since I'm terrible enough at keeping 1 profile in order I didn't want to make trouble by trying to set up a second.
Amelia Diranesti |
I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience as well! I've yet to gain a single XP from any PbP so I'm pretty new, I hope I'm keeping it interesting and contributing enough, I can tell I'm playing with some good players!
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
Am really busy, will make sure to get a decent idiotic rant post up some time tonight once I get a chance to read everything over. Until then, Marcus smiles and nods.

Congrats, Marcus! All the best!
The Gray Maiden |
OOOOOOOOH my God am I sorry. All my campaigns have been giving me the "(1 New)" notifications and this one never had any so I thought things were just getting delayed. Will catch up and post ASAP!!
Lovissa Halenbane |
Nope! Not accepting your sorry! I loved the summary. Haha.

I just realized I can get chronicles for the Pathfinder Tales novels I own, and was hoping you would finalize one of the chronicle sheets for me, which I'd like to apply to Lovissa. I need to give you proof I own the eBook, so I have a few images of it, complete with the watermark, on my google drive I can give you links for, along with the chronicle sheet. If that's not good enough I can upload the eBook to my google drive for you to look at, but I'd prefer not to do that. My internet's super slow and it'll take forever to upload. Haha.
If you're willing, the link is here: Pathfinder Tales: Prince of Wolves

Out of curiosity how much do we have to go? I'm evaluating whether i should reserve Giovanni a spot in Outpost.
Marcus Vulpares Fantailler |
I'm a little concerned right now with the way this is going right now. While I certainly understand and accept the need to make executive actions to enforce progress, the idea of having someone 'frozen in panic' outside in plain sight until they post seems extremely detrimental to the party's ability to keep a low profile. In many combat-heavy scenarios this would likely be just fine, but with an intrigue-heavy scenario it feels more like anyone left behind, even for under a day, is at risk of becoming boat anchor on the tail end of the group dragging it down.
I say this now because I know that my posting history in this scenario has been rather poor, and for that I sincerely apologize, but I really don't foresee that getting better. I've got good days where I can easily make it to my computer, and bad days where I'm trying to post from phone with a crying baby in hand, and that is certainly nobody's fault but mine for not planning ahead here and not getting a good feel for the expectations in advance of starting.
As it stands, I was very uncomfortable making combat decisions in my recent post without an understanding for the positioning and presence or lack thereof of Amelia. Again, life happens, bad stuff happens, and people sometimes vanish. That's a fact I've been well exposed to several times on the boards here, but at this point I feel like if I wait to get all of the info I need at the update rate I'm able to cobble together, I'll become said boat anchor I mentioned earlier.
At this point I'm wondering if it would be best for everyone here if I accept a partial chronicle and drop from this game. I love all of your characters and the banter, and I really regret not being able to give this game my all, but I would rather not become a guy left behind to attract guards, or a silent suspicious goon, simply because I made a bad call in signing up for this game, expecting to be able to maintain a post rate that I clearly can't.
I'd like to ask my fellow party members if you think it would be best that I withdraw now to let me know. Trust me, I will not be offended whatsoever, and will certainly look forward to playing with you again in the future once I get a better grip over my new (and totally awesome) life.
GM Dinketry |
Marcus, I have no concerns regarding your posting rate currently. I don’t envision needing to make ‘executive decisions’ in the future, but I hear your concerns.
Amelia has been reached out to but remains AWOL for now. I’m hoping that they resurface.
As a new Dad with a (now a little bit older) baby as well, I empathise completely with whatever your decision winds up being but I sincerely hope you remain in the game.
Thanks,
Dink
Giovanni Stellaluce |
yeah, you're doing the 1/day at least. all good. and (baby in arms myself) this is the format for us. stick around, i hope your strike landed!
Lovissa Halenbane |
Auw, man, I truck around with four kids most days, the youngest of which just turned two, so I feel your pain, Marcus. And your exhaustion and pride. I promise you'll get better at multitasking! Haha.
As for posting, I think you're doing fine. Don't sweat it.
Lady Finley |
I feel you are doing fine with posting as well Marcus. If anything I feel like I'm being the slow one here. Life gets us, and that's ok. Please stay with us.
Badriyah Hameedah |
I'll just echo the others and say I certainly don't have any problems with your posting rate Marcus. You've got plenty on your plate so I'd totally understand if you needed to drop, but hopefully not because you're only posting once a day. It's PbP, it's supposed to be slow. :)
GM Dinketry |
Hey folks - the encounter that you're currently in needs to be done in initiative order. I'll call when people can act. I appreciate the enthusiasm that you've shown in posting, but if you post out of order, you run the risk of your actions inadvertently influencing the actions of people who will be going before you in initiative order.
If you'd like to post out of initiative order, may I please ask that you spoiler your post so as not to influence others before they would have seen what you were doing in real-time? Thanks bunchly!
