GM Emmjay if you didnt realize, a couple of us commented before Jalak and those ended up on the previous page. If you had noticed, I'm sorry for jumping the gun.
I'm waiting for others to make a move and post.... Right now, its just a couple of you. I am hoping to get 100% participation.

You think you can dance, huh? We'll try this catchy toon!

"Welcome Constantine, Priest of Abadar. This book here? Well, it probably wouldn't interest you. It chronicles one of the bards in the Vorash campaign many hundreds of years ago. While the bard was conscripted into the standing army at the time, his take on what happened has proved quite illuminating. So, what brings you" he looks at Jalak, "and you" looking at Constantine to this establishment tonight?"

"Be on your guard."
Quint is a little startled by this last statement. He just figured he and the others were just playing errand-boy, for an eccentric Venture Captain. Janira's words however, incited caution. Thank you again for your performance Janira, it was lovely. I will also heed your other words and endeavor to remain alert. With that, Quint excuses himself and returns to the bar area whence he came. This time however, Quint carefully observes every patron and interaction in the Wisp.. trying to pick up some clue of what Janira, may have been talking about. (if allowed: "take 20 perception")

Sorry, I completely missed that post.
"I can't say I'm familiar with the subject, but I've grown to enjoy history in most forms of late," Constantine replies. "I was recently instructed by the higher members of the local clergy to join the Pathfinder Society, in order to improve the church's relations with the organization. It has made me appreciate lost and esoteric knowledge all the more. The Society has some flaws in how it operates regarding the confines of the law, but that is just one thing I hope to bring about change in."
"In fact, we are here on their business. I likely should not disclose the exact nature of our 'mission,' but between you and me, it seems a bit trivial for a full complement of agents."

I know that a half orc is created when an ambitious human wants to gain more martial prowess. If he can find, and capture an orc and then inject 3 doses of orc blood into his own blood, for 27 days straight. then his body starts to take o some of the same attributes of the orc which he took the blood samples from.
Most of the time this manifests as added strength, or durability. but some who try are shocked to find that, in such cases where the orc was a shaman or pursued other, more intellectual paths, that they unlock a portion of wisdom that was unknown to them before.
I suppose I could understand the appeal for some..... But I dont think that I could ever do that to something. lock it up and force these experiments... It just seems a bit barbaric to me. I suppose if one could find an orc who was willing to share its blood... but I find that rather unlikely.
As for what brings me to the Wounded Wisp... Well I have been tasked with retrieving a most important package for a venture captain. He was otherwise unable to spirit himself away from his current mission and logically tasked a group of new pathfinders with the simple task of retrieving it for him. That is not to say that our mission is any less important. We are being tested! sometimes even the most mundane tasks can be enlightening as to the capacity with which those tasked with it perform as a group. I hope to prove that I am at least worthy to be a pathfinder. I wasn't so sure about it when they told me I was to begin training... I only thought that I may be of some use to them.
I train birds you see. I was sure that an organization as reputable as the pathfinder society was always in need of a good falconer. I suppose they saw something else in me, and, if it puts some food on the table, I am not going to complain one bit.

GM NOTE: Please place your icon on SLIDE 3 PART 2 in the upper portion of the Ruined Chamber room, where Heryn Gale's icon is located. Some players and/or their pets may be forced to fit back into the stairwell, and that is ok. Buzzwinkle is stuck outside the the Wounded Wisp and won't be joining in.
As you have spent some time drinking and getting to know the more important (famous) of the guests tonight in the Wounded Wisp, Heryn Gale's replacement finally arrives to take over her shift tending the bar. She gathers you up "Adventurers looking to get the bottle of wine from the storehouse, come and follow me," and leads you behind the bar to the stairs leading down to the basement.
A set of wooden stairs descends from the main floor into this tightly packed storeroom. Barrels, boxes, and crates of assorted foodstuffs and drink garnishes are pushed against the walls or under the stairs. Coming to a fissure in the floor, Heryn stops and informs you:
"This happened during the quake of 4698. We've been meaning to get it repaired, but we haven't had the time to do so. So, all we have is this wooden plank to get across. Take your time and be careful."
Per - Drukpa: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Per - Haana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Per - Kizen Companion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Per - Ierwin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Per - Buzzwinkle: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Per - Quint: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Per - Constantine: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Per - Jalek: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Quint stops the group before they make their way across. Taking a good look at the "bridge" he notices that it is in a very poor state of repair. Jalek confirms this assessment. The chasm is far enough across that jumping would be foolish at best, and deep enough that a fall would hurt, but probably not kill, anyone.
What is the group going to do?

![]() |

Oh dang-it! I SOOO wish that I could fly like Kizen! How far down do you all think it is!? I probably couldn't make a jump that far... I could try... if I didn't make it it might not hurt me as bad. I seem to have this knack for falling quite gracefully.
Sylph- Feather Fall (spell like ability) 1/day. "The affected creatures or objects fall slowly. Feather fall instantly changes the rate at which the targets fall to a mere 60 feet per round (equivalent to the end of a fall from a few feet), and the subjects take no damage upon landing while the spell is in effect. When the spell duration expires, a normal rate of falling resumes."

He returns to his conversation.

Constantine surveys the gap, listening to Haana's idea. "Perhaps, but that seems like a plan only to be utilized should you fall. It may, however, make you the most suitable candidate for attempting a jump. We could lower a rope if you fail, no harm done. But what would you do on the other side, to help the rest cross?"

Apologies to all for the delays in posting. I will do better going forward!
I've placed my icon on the map on slide 3 but I'm not entirely sure that I did it correctly. I just copied the icon that is found on slide 7, then pasted onto slide 3, then resized it to fit on the map. Is that what I'm supposed to do or is there some other procedure? Also, is there an obvious way to know which icons stand for who? For example, which one is Heryn?
Mmm, that plank doesn't look too stable. Maybe we should use my handy grappling hook and rope?
Drukpa looks to see if there is a suitable target on the far side that the grappling hook could attach to.

While you don't see anything specific to attack a grappling hook to, what you do see is that the board is damaged and unsafe, it might just be easier to get another plank...

Quint scratches his 5:00 shadow and thinks aloud, Perhaps we're over thinking this, let's just get another plank...shall we? There must be something around here we can use let's take a look around Quint proceeds to do just that ; search for plank: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

While Haana doesn't find a single plank, she does notice several wine and spirit crates and boxes that, when reduced to planks and added to support the current one, should be able to support the group, if they went slow, and one at a time.

Is Heryn still here? If so, Constantine will ask her if they can deconstruct a box.
"Reckless action will only lead to dire consequences," Constantine reminds Ierwin, hoping he does not sound too stern. Regardless, he pulls out a curative wand and taps the human with it. "Perhaps we should get Heryn's permission to carry out this plan, even if it is beneficial to her as well."

You aren't certain what is sturdy enough on this side of the room to risk tying the rope to anything there. Thankfully, as strong as you are, you are able to pull Ierwin up by yourself.

Drukpa happily slaps Ierwin on the back, relieved to have rescued his new friend. The force of the blow is almost enough to knock Ierwin back into the chasm, but Drukpa catches him just in time. Embarrassed, Drukpa nervously tries to distract everyone from his blundering. "So, um, did you find any signs of dragons down there? I hope we can meet a dragon during our mission. I'm a dragon too, dontcha know, but I've got a lot to learn, a lot to learn, or at least that's what Ole Granpappy always tole me, so if you've got any tips about being a dragon, why I sure would 'preciate 'em!"

Drukpa enthusiastically attempts lends a hand with the effort to reinforce the bridge.
Aid Another, Survival: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
However, his fumbling nearly knocks both himself and one of his comrades into the chasm. Sheepishly, he takes a seat, trying to stay out of the way, and wondering if all Batfinder missions are so challenging...

Haana notices a sudden shift in Drukpa's demeanor.

Jalak watches with a concerned look on his face as his comrades attempt to stabilize the bridge, especially when it looks like they can barely capable of staying out of the pit.
He goes to say something but at the last minute he realizes he has nothing to say or contribute to the situation. He takes a moment and analyze the problem. He could dimensional slide across the pit, but he was unsure if that would help his comrades back on the other side. Maybe it give them someone to throw the grappling hook too?
Jalak goes to suggest this possible solution to the group, but nervousness over comes him at the last second and goes quiet. If his confirmation taught him anything sometimes one just had to act. With the decision made Jalak walks to the edge of the pit and attempts to teleport across.
Dimensional Slide (10 feet) (Su) Use 1 reservoir as part of move/withdraw, move to spot in sight for only 5 ft movement & no AoO.
Not going to be offended if you drop him in the pit :).

Jalak makes it across the gap without issue. Of course, Haana and Drukpa are busy assisting trying to repair the bridge to notice.

Drukpa looks up and sees that Jalak is on the other side. Oh great, how are we gonna get all these nails pulled out so we can repair the bridge if Jalak is over there? Adventuring is harder than I expected... ”Hey, Jalak, my friend, take this rope so you can come back across and help us repair the bridge so we can cross over to where you are!” Drukpa tosses the rope with the grappling hook across to Jalak.
