"Well then you rotten devils!" Numalar says, his voice growing hoarse. "Ready for one more?"

Numalar pops a piece of saltpeter in his mouth, and points his symbol at the creatures once again.
"Qa' quv!" he yells. A tongue of flame roars out of his mouth, engulfing both of the creatures.

Good time for a 20.

Burning Hands Reflex DC 16: 3d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) + 4 = 12 . using saltpeter again.

Numalar coughs and sputters, and shakes himself, as if he is on the verge of unconsciousness.

I will now move back behind Scarlet. If I can do a 5' step I will do that but if you only allow a full move I will go past Scarlet (around the corner) and take the AoO.

Edit: I will also spend a free action to deploy claws, in case I need to threaten.

"WAAAAGH!!" There's a smell like when you use a fireplace (or turn on your furnace) for the first time in long time. Wherever the flame hits the skin of the two figures they burn like cigar paper. The diabolic imp closest to Numalar seems to turn to smoldering ash and blow away in the hot wind following the fire, leaving nothing but flaming rags behind. The other's face looks a bit like a pinata with half of it's facade broken off and lost. Motes of dust swirl behind where it's cheek and eye used to be. The seared edges of what would be flesh, skull and bone on another more natural being burn with bright line of orange.

You can go ahead and make your switch with Scarlet this time around.

Ed doesn't reply instead he concentrates on weaving the words of magic together though the tone of his words abruptly rise in annoyance at the interruption. He spends his standard action next round casting as well.

I did not expect to make the spellcraft check, assuming a higher-level spell. I would not have asked if I already knew what he was casting. Alas, I WOULD have asked why a disguise was necessary, so he'd still get his interruption. :) - that, and I know his eyes were wandering when I turned to Tamris, so the interruption serves as a "eyes up here" :P

Celyne, seemingly not threatened, stands up carefully so as not to fall back in the pit. She backs up to the portcullis and reunites with Luna, who is on the other side... Then starts casting. full round action so after a move, will go off at the END of next round, not the beginning.

The remaining dust imp, burned and maddened by the pain, again lunges at Posh trying to overbear him into the pit, but fails to gain a grip on the gnome.

Zokon opens the door on a dark torture chamber. Manacles line the walls and an iron Maiden sits at the room's center.

Sir Didymus is also in the room.

As the door opens the iron maiden rotates to face it. The torture device's gated face yawns open on squealing, rusted hinges narrowly missing dog. Then it slams shut again with tremendous force and a deafening clang.

I had no action left in the previous init-list. Either way, I would delay, and wait for Tamris and "Ed" to proceed, not further interrupting the unknown caster that is willing to help, but pacing about in front of the door nervously.

Scarlet: If you have only one weapon in your hands you can use it two-handed which is 1 more point of damage. But if you are still sickened you also get -2 to hit and damage.

Just kidding, I know he can push with a Charisma-Check...BUT: When your character is not in immediate danger or distracted, you may choose to take 10. - I think a animated Iron Maiden trying to eat you, with a Gelatinous Cube coming up from behind does qualify, there. - either way: the reason I bring it up in the first place: If Didymus knows other tricks(don't see any in his profile), like "heel", it would be preferable...if something wounds him, the DC for pushing raises by +2 so Zokon could no longer do so with Take 10. Better if Didy has a useful standing order, then, right?

Like Celyne, I didn't realize we were still in combat. But Zokon's command was made after Sir Didymus' slobber attack. So Zokon has 1 round worth of slobber. If he has to roll and fails then maybe more than 1 round! :)

As to what commands Zokon will issue, that's up to him, but Didymus just has standard combat training, so he can't be commanded to attack the animated statue.

A druid or ranger with no ranks in Handle Animal can use a Charisma check to handle and push her animal companion, but she can’t teach, rear, or train other non-domestic animals.

Alia's correct, he can't Take 10 because of the immediate danger.

As a ranger Zokon might consider picking this handy skill up. ;)

The iron maiden slides slowly, but implacably across stone floor like a terrible chess-piece. Its doors swing open to grab the dog.

Technically Zokon can't. He's moving and shifting his equipment, but I would have given Sir Didymus a Wisdom check to withdraw or guard/defend Zokon (since the thing is 'too weird' to flat-out attack). Anyhow, full withdraw it is.

For this sort of situation I'd say 10, given the fact he can't be ordered to attack the thing I was going to lower it to 8. But don't tell Zokon. It would break his heart to know that Lil Didy wasn't really following his orders. Were he still shaken/frightened by the other thing or if the thing attacking them were a bigger or scarier threat I'd probably adjust it lower still. 10 is pretty close to my default for 'Common sense' or 'Hey do you remember that thing from 50 posts ago?' Wis and Int checks.

Okay, so Sir Didymus does something dumb... he attacks.

Sir Didymus reels after being struck by the iron maiden. He snarls, and snaps at the object.

"RAHRRRR!"

Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

I assume the object has hardness and this does no damage.

Sir Didymus does't care for the taste of metal in his mouth. He backs away slightly, keeping his eyes on the... thing.

Unless you are fighting full/total-defensively Zokon you still have a standard action available.
