Rojerick Alandsson
Roj stops for a moment, thinking. "We know where the head is. On that...thing in the other room. Legs were with the disgusting-smelling thing. Did we get the arms? I know we're missing the torso."
Borden Read
So arms and torso? We know where the head is and have the legs. Good show... lets keep looking down this way.
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
Gwen nods at Borden's words, then looks at Erik: "Hey kid, do you have any suggestions on what to do if we meet this necro-something?"
Erik Copper
Erik has been trailing behind the group, anxiously glancing behind him as he follows as if expecting something horrific to loom out of the dark when they least expect it.
Which is a pretty rational fear, really.
He glances up at Gwen's words, jolted out of his reverie.
"We need to keep him from casting his spells. If we see him going to cast something, try to hit him, or shut him up somehow. That might break his concentration." Erik frowns as he runs through everything he's learned of necromancy. "He's probably going to have some undead guardians already in place, and it'd be tempting to fight them since they'll be standing in the front, giving him cover, but we should really try to kill him above all else. With a little luck, his death will cause all the undead around here to collapse."
That said, he cracks open the two scrolls he's been carrying around again, and squints down at them in the poor light, trying to discern their purpose.
Rojerick Alandsson
Roj nods at Erik. "So, destroy the root of the evil, then its minions if they don't collapse. Seems easy enough. Same order as before, then?" He notes Erik's glances and falls into place near the rear of the party.
Erik Copper
Erik gratefully allows Rojerick to step in behind him.
"Yeah. If they're lesser undead, like skeletons or the like. That he personally raised, you know?" He frowns. "If he's working with intelligent undead, like, uh, a vampire, then it'll persist even after the necromancer's bit the dust. So." He shrugs apologetically. "It's all a bit complicated and I'm not too familiar with necromancy. All in all, the sooner we kill him - or her - the better."

Erik, identifying the scrolls is just a use of read magic, or Spellcraft rolls.
Map updated to no 21 with you roughly placed, please give me some more positions if you want to be somehow different.
Looking into the next room you see a dry, well kept chamber, but a lot fo the room is obscured by darkness.

Ok, I'm waiting on co-ordinates if any of you want to change positions, which you've implied you do.
I'd also like to see an answer to Bordan's in character question.
I'd also like a reminder of what lights you have going on in general, mundane or otherwise. It actually matters a bit now.
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
Since we're heading east, Gwen would be in G36. Also I hope that one of our spellcasters has some light or dancing lights spell available. If not, Gwen still has one torch, but since she needs two hands to wield her greatsword, at the first sign of trouble she would have to drop said torch...

Basil casts Light on the end of Gwens greatsword.
Gwen, Basil, Borden, Erik, Roj.
Basil init 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 OR 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Borden 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Basil's light illuminates the next room a little better, but it also makes obvious that there is something wrong with the light in there, an area towards the back just does not get light to it...
Borden Read
Hit my spear with the spell I can use its reach to probe but my bet is that its magical darkness. Gwen, ready your torch in case my plunging my spear into hit kills all the light all together.
Borden readies his longspear.
Borden Read
Borden waits for Gwen to light up her torch and then stabs into the center of the darkness with his long spear.
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
Gwen lights her torch up then looks at the others and whispers:
"Does anybody else want to hold this? Because I'll have to drop it to use my weapon."
Gwen's init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Rojerick Alandsson
Roj slides his shield onto his back, accepting the torch from Gwen. "If things get too hairy, I may have to drop it as well, but hopefully the light on the spear will be enough."
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Actual AC will be 18 T12 FF 16 until further notice.

Eric init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Init
Eric 24
Basil 20
Rog 12
Gwen 9
Bordan 9
The increased light in the room makes it easier to see into the shadowy area in the corner (technically it's now "dim" not "dark") but bordan's light doesn't seem to have any greater effect than the torches. There seems to be a creature in there...
Need a post from Bordan after that spoiler.

Borden Fort Save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Bordens vision fades for a moment before clearing.
Attack! We have a foe here.
He stabs at the creature with his longspear.

The creature appears to be one of the purple dwarf things you encountered before, it evades Bordan's strike with ease. It appears to be hovering near the ceiling, and is the center of the area of unnatural darkness.
There is a 20% miss chance on attacks into the area of darkness, roll a d100 and aim to get over 20. But since Bordan's strike missed anyway, we wont worry about that one.
Init from the top.
Erik Copper
Before anybody can react, Eric makes a complex symbol with his fingers, a pinch of wool clutched between them, and gives a quick hiss, as if pressing magic forcefully out toward the dwarf.
Casting Daze on him, please give me a Will save at DC 14 I believe!
Rojerick Alandsson
Roj shoves the torch at the retreating Basil. "Hold this." He reaches over his shoulder, unslinging a crossbow, and prays for his goddess's guidance. As he fires, the bolt seems to shine with the sun's fury.
Light Crossbow (smite): 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 = 10
Damage?: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Move to draw crossbow, Swift to Smite the flying guy, Standard to fire the crossbow. For all the good that did...

The creature laughs as Basil flees, and then sends a ray of fierce heat at Roj.
Ranged touch attack vs roj: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 2) = 14
Rog's Bolt clatters off a wall near the thing.
Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp
How high is the ceiling?
Gwen hastily drops her sword, draws her longbow and fires an arrow at the strange thing:
Attack w/mwk longbow +1 str.: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
"HA! Take this, you filthy beast!"
Borden Read
Basil looks up at the ceiling, then back at his greatsword, sighing in frustration.
He then backs out of the room.
"Let me know if anyone needs any healing..."
Roj does...
Rojerick Alandsson
Roj is a big boy, he can take care of himself!
Roj reloads, placing a hand on the burn across his chest and letting Sarenrae's healing warmth cool the searing pain slightly. The damage lessened, he returns the 'favor' to their foe, sending a bolt up toward its neck.
Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Light Crossbow Shot: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 = 26
