It took four heroes the better part of a decade, a number of powerful artifacts, and the favors of numerous entities nearly as powerful or as powerful as the gods themselves. But four mortal heroes accomplished the almost impossible task of killing Asmodeus himself.
While the ramifications and inevitable conflict of this event has already begun to cause strife and warfare across the Cage these petty mortal events pale in comparison to the upheaval across the planes. Thousand year old plots are beginning to unfold as demigods clash and armies align in heaven, hell and elsewhere for the conflict to end all conflicts.
But something like Asmodeus does not die simply. His will, his power, were too great to be laid low by simple mortal artifice.
You are the Chosen. Given a portion of the dark lord's divine power you are given the task of carrying out Asmodeus's last will and testament. Failure would mean more then your simple demise. For failure to complete the terms of this immense pact would release the dread god Rovagug from the Cage destroying everyone you've ever known or loved in a deific cataclysm that none can defend against.
Failure is to embrace oblivion. Success is ascension to godhood.
Shadows of the Prince of Darkness is a homebrew playtest for the new mythic playtest rules. I need ONE player. The other three slots have been filled already. Recruitment will be equally quick and brutal as I'll only be keeping this open until Thursday with plans to start this weekend at the latest.
Character Guidelines:
8th level
2nd Mythic Tier
Do not bother picking a flaw. I am making one for you.
Amazing initiative is bein changed.
20pt. buy.
Standard wealth for level.
All pathfinder stuff allowed.
Current group is a Cleric, Druid, and Sorceror. So obviously we have our full casters covered.

I have a character idea that I might be interested in submitting, but I have a few questions. How long will the game be, exactly? (However you want to measure it. Levels. Months. etc.)
Does a character have to be willing to be a chosen? Do they have to be evil? Or is it/can it be something forced on them? How is it that the others became chosen, or the group if it happened to them all for the same reason?
How heavy will this be with combat? How about Roleplay? What will the roleplay focus on? And what is the setting of the game, exactly? (Where it takes place, not the set up I mean.)

The concept of this campaign is certainly cool. I think you need to provide some additional context, though, notably on whether this will be an evil campaign or whether the characters can be good. It would be kind of pointless playing a paladin if the campaign were to be evil and if he were to fall immediately and it would be equally senseless playing a bloodthirsty barbarian if the campaign were to be good and the characters are supposed to struggle with their 'gift' morally and ethically.
Information about venue (forum? chat?) and expected meeting or posting frequency would also be helpful, as would information about the group (e.g are the players and their characters cooperative?)
Personally, I enjoy playing casters the most, but they do seem to be fully covered (though an Oracle would seem to fit the premise of the campaign pretty well). Even a half-caster (like a summoner - a class I really like) might be reluctant given the party makeup. A paladin might be inappropriate to the campaign. Out of the non-casting classes left, a monk would seem like the best choice for me.

There are no alignment restrictions. You could ask why Asmodeus bequeathed the last vestiges of his power to a stoic paladin and a bloodthirsty barbarian but he's dead. In either case both have a stake in ensuring the universe doesn't end.
You choice is not a factor. You were chosen. Your will isn't even a question.
As far as combat and roleplaying there will be healthy amounts of each. This is still a playtest afterall.
I expect survival rates to be relatively low. This will become clear why in-game.
Also this is a PbP.

Here is Kurik Frostfang. His background is on the sheet, though it needs some work. Mechanically he's a very strong, hard to kill Champion Dragon Disciple. (Focused heavily on melee with spells being just a small bonus).

Sadly I have not the access to look at the sheet.

Before I started pathfinder, I created this character which I named my main avatar after in a homebrew world. With the mythic rules, and the ability to put this together, I truly had fun bringing the character over to the Pathfinder rules completely. I had to make some sacrifices from his original stats (which were rolled, and rolled well) but I feel I got the overall flavor of the character in this incarnation.
I realized after I built him that he has some similarities to Kurik in that we both picked the Toughness (Mythic) feat, and To the Death, but oh well. They both work well for those with Orcish Blood. Also Kudos to him for the Dragon Disciple build. It's still my favorite Prestige Class.

Thanks! I've always wanted to do something with it but I'm also a big front liner fan, so it took a while to figure out the perfect formula for me to play it. Finally found it after playing a barbarian for a while.
And yeah. To the death and toughness (mythic) work so well together it's awesome, so I can't blame you for taking it.

After some thought I went with Oterisk.
I rather liked both Kurik and Janothas.
JAnothas was a nice simple character that can have a lot of thigns tested on it where I can say "this is mythic in action" rather than "this is a good player combined with an interesting build".
The difference ultimately came down to was Janothas didn't have a backstory that caught me while Kurik had an interesting build I strongly suspect he would have done just fine without much interference from the mythic rules. Therefore Oterisk manages to steal it.
Like I said, none of the characters were strictly bad. I was merely looking for certain specific things that are very difficult to naturally go for.

Sweet. I wish the other guys well in finding other games to be a part of.
Thanks for the opportunity, I really wanted to do some playtesting of the Mythic rules. Is there a discussion thread in which I can talk to the other players to work out some synergy with items and such?
edit: I got your message, it updated right after I posted this.
