Here it is, folks. Starting from 5th level, then advancing to 10th, 15th, and 20th, let's get to testing this new ruleset.
If you see problems or have concerns/issues with the test as run, please bring them up in the discussion thread.
I'd like to keep the actual gameplay thread as "clean" as possible to afford the Dev-Team the easiest means possible to glean their data.
Conclusions/After-Action-Reports and the like would be very helpful, again, in the discussion thread.

Okay all.
You are a known team of adventurers, sent to rescue the kidnapped heir to the local baron.
Last intelligence indicated the grab team was humanoid, and took refuge in a local cave system.
Little else is known, but you can clearly make out tracks leading in.
General notes: high is always good for the roller (miss chances, etc). If you think there may be terrain or something to use, go for it.
You Kuonuo |
Kuonuo walks to the tracks, careful not to disturb them. She kneels on one knee to look at them closer.
Survival 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
"May I get a second opinion?" she says after a few moments of inspection.
Sol Xue De Ron Ole |
Sol looks down where You was looking and then a bit more along the track
Survival 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
She says after a moment bending down,
"Boots big and small, medium and large humanoids, that's them and this looks to be a button from our local baron's clothing."
Standing back up, she holds out to the others a small Bone Button.
psionichamster |
Nothing to see here...
@Sol: You can tell there were a total of 7 large prints, and 3 mediums. They entered the tunnel approximately 48-72 hours ago, and you don't see any tracks leading out as of yet.
After you travel approximately 45' into the cavern, you notice a large (20' wide, 25' tall) opening at the back of the cave. It extends roughly even (with a slight declination) and appears to have been recently exposed from the back side. The tracks lead through the rubble and into the cavern itself.
Assuming you travel into the tunnel
After you travel approximately 150' into the dark tunnel, you are surprised by some horrible, dark-skinned fiends blocking the way.
You: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Perception
Ug: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 Perception
Lily: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Perception
Vaki: 21 Perception
Everyone is surprised (Sol would have seen them, had she been closer to the front).
Surprise Round: Summon Allies
Initiative:
You: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (3) + 23 = 26
Ug: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (15) + 22 = 37
Lily: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
Vaki: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (5) + 24 = 29
Enemies: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Initiative Order:
Sol
Ug
Vaki
You
Lily
Enemies
The heroes are up. Anyone who can detect magic being cast automatically, or has extrasensory perceptions regarding teleportation magic, let me know. Otherwise, nothing has happened yet, beyond more spooky, scary sounds in the dark.
You Kuonuo |
Kuonuo casts Detect Magic at the opening, in case of a magical trap.
She proceeds into the dark tunnel with the others, but not before casting a spell to to help her see.
Cast: Dancing Lights
The four glowing spheres of light encircle her before moving to the back, illuminating just enough to let her see in the dim light but not enough to alert enemies far ahead, trusting the others in front to guide her.
The sounds in the dark set her on edge and she listens closely while they proceed further into the tunnel, relaxed but prepared to act, and otherwise does nothing.

Marching order is
Vaki, Ug, You, Sol, Lily, correct?
@Ug: Are you raging? You cannot see anything yet, but may be able to smell if you trigger your scent power.
Either way, a potential hit. 1d100 ⇒ 85 miss chance.
A hit! 1 damage to enemy A. 56/57 HP remaining
@Ug: you feel thick scaly hide, powerful limbs, and the haft of some weapon between you. You hear the flap of leathery wings and smell sulfur in the air.

GM could we have a map, it would help to test hits and reach etc, Rosa will do an attack on any thing is range with or with out a move, looking to gain a flacking position to hit mist target with a whirlwind attack.
The Monk-fighter moves in instinct, in a moment moving to a point where her great elfish sword can cut down all who face them.
Acrobatics if needed 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
lucky you can not crit of fumble skill rolls foooww
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 WWA - TH on all targets with in 5' of Sol.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 Confirm crit roll
Upon success
2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14 DMG on all targets with in 5' of Sol.
Note Great sword is +1 magic
You Kuonuo |
"Is something there?" Kuonuo says, stopping and bringing out her Light Crossbow. She wills her orbs of light forward to illuminate the darkness in front of them.
Not sure if it's a free action or a move action to move dancing lights.
psionichamster |
I will try to get a map up. Won't be tonight, as I'm on my phone.
@Vaki: do you have Hide in Plain Sight or something similar? If not, there's not much in the way of terrain to hide behind. You're essentially in a long corridor.
@Sol: You move forward, following the bellowing barbarian. Sensing enemies near by, you swing your blade blindly. 1d100 ⇒ 24 vs A 1d100 ⇒ 7 vs B 1d100 ⇒ 51 vs Ug.
Lucky Sol! misses everyone.
@You: Move Action. Doing anything else?
Once the light globes illuminate the area, everyone sees two black-skinned, winged fiends wielding glaives.
Knowledge: Planes.
You Kuonuo |
Knowledge (Planes) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
I think taking out my light crossbow is another move action. And it just occurred to me that I completely forgot to get the Tongues spell. Oh well!
Kuonuo brings up her weapon and aims it threateningly at the two, but doesn't fire. "On guard!" she says, and then addresses the two creatures. "Who are you?"
psionichamster |
Oh did not realize you had darkvision.
Scratch the miss from before.
2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9 critical damage.
Question for Sol: when did you take Spring Attack & Whirlwind Attack? Both require BAB +4, which you have only for your 5th level feat.
Attack from round 1 will stand for now, total damage 18 after DR. Enemy A: 38/57 HP. Enemy B: 39/57 HP, concentration 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 vs. DC 31.
Enemy B's summon spell fizzles after being whacked by Sol.
@You: you're reasonably sure these are devils. Maybe demons, but definitely b angels.

Map is live, see Here For Map
Just waiting on Vaki & Lily before the enemies go.

weird. boards ate my last post.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Will Save from B (34/57 HP)
Bluff is successful, but there's not exactly anything to hide behind. Again, long empty tunnel.
Angry at the interruption of their summoning, both A and B try to tear Ug limb-from-limb.

She moves closer to the walls to get a clear shot at the opponents as she continues singing.

Lilly Talieb |
Lilly looks at her fellow party members and shakes her head. "You see guys if you would have let me summon an army out of those orcs we killed yesterday ug wouldn't be getting surrounded right now...but no you wanted to be "heroic"" she says as she makes air quotes when she says heroic. She then starts moving up behind one of the devils to flank it with Ug. Once in place she will use her Channel Smite ability.
