The creatures have no idea that Alþórel is getting a fireball ready. Those nearest come towards him, those further away are keeping their distance. Likely not due to safety but to avoid a scrabble of too many of them around the 'glowstone'.

Once Alþórel can hear there is a sufficient amount of them around him he lets loose a fireball, exploding himself with it. Thanks to his protective magic however, he takes minimal burning from the effect.

The others who are left are quite surprised by this sudden explosion giving his companions time to act.

I'll say that this fireball was Al's surprise action, I've moved the rest of you to the edge of the fireball radius so you don't need to save. I'll let Nethan point out where the remaining ones are for free but they still get the benefits of invisibility (total concealment etc). When they move, only Nethan will be able to spot where they are.

The small creatures begin to realise what's happening and begin chanting a chorus in Aklo. The group can begin to hear something stirring to the east of them. Free action for the Tiny things.

Nethan walks back to where Al is standing, and just in case the creatures are casting ritual magic in addition calling their master, Nethan casts a fireball at the two creatures directly in front of them on the roof to reduce the effects, "GARMTH IXEN!"

@Nethan: The fireball is cast is using your mythic ability one to recall a spell right? So standard 6d6 fire damage? just making sure since they might survive.

Nethan launches a fireball at the roof blasting the small creatures on it. If they live they will run off somewhere.

The tiny creatures start dancing though one of them gets sheared in the face by a spinning leaf. Leaf Barrier: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Between her fire resistance and blood sanctuary Elise isn't going to be overly bothered if someone decides to drop a fireball on her (as long as it isn't the Al special :P)

Yes, they would still get concealment but otherwise I don't see an issue with attacking her square.

I had an issue at work all day Friday and was working with Cisco Systems TAC to fix it. And today, my wife and I purchased a $6,000 bed because of our allergies. Because of those allergies, we have not been able to sleep well for the last 11 years and it was slowly killing us as a result. The bed is a Tempur-Pedic Premier Foundation with Twin XL OnPurple Mattresses.

One of the creatures is heard hitting the floor as it roasts from the large blast whereas the other scampers off attempting to pat itself down.

Elise swats around her trying to take down the creatures. She smacks one hard, it goes flying into the wall and collapses to the ground, her key lies on the floor nearby. Another gets slashed from her passing claw but it can be heard darting back in a small yelp of pain.

Amelia lets lose a crystalline burst around Elise.

Al grabs his pouch and chants, briefly and clearly, but nothing much seems to happen. He steps away from the others, and in Elven calls out "I am here!"

Alþórel spreads his arms open trying to make himself a better target. In the distance, the group sees a large wisplike ball of light come from the east. It is far larger than a normal wisp and is a searing white light similar hue to that of the sun but not quite as blinding to your eyes.

Alþórel:

To you though, you see something more, this white colour. Your eyes, they can tell the difference now. This isn't just a ball of white, the light is falling in a specific way to form a shape. You doubt the others can see as well as your trained eyes. The white hues of light form the shape of someone you recognize all too well; Eþnui. You also know that this isn't her, just a facsimile formed from fire. You've seen her do it before, however, you know that only she knows how to do that. You doubt she taught anyone this, which means...

Before you finish the thought you see the shape summon a bow of flame in its hands and draw back.

The floating light rests atop one of the buildings and fires out 3 bolts of fire. One of which is directed at Alþórel. One goes for Nethan who is next to Alþórel and the other goes towards Amelia, the only other that it can currently see.

The orb is attacking you yes, it just fired off some bolts in the last round. It's resting on the roof of the building 20 feet up.

Nethan brings up a shield around him.

The group hears a chant once more.

"Fire of Ethniu, embrace me!!"

A moment later the orb sparks up and ignites something. Flying through the air is a centaur on fire, it curls up into a large ball of flame that lands near Elise, Dreyyn, Spook and Amelia.

The excess flames pour off in a blast around the centaur and it summons up a spear of flame that seems like it reaches out beyond 10ft. The creature looks quite a bit stronger than it was, though, the group can tell it isn't alive any longer.

Invigorated by the sight of a worthy foe - someone not tiny and hiding - Elise surges towards the fiery centaur heedless both to the blast of fire and the creatures weaponry.

Elise dashes up taking an attack from the flaming spear.

The group then proceeds to pummel the creature a lot of attacks with a boost from haste. Several of them don't land though, two starknives go off and Dreyyn misses his acrobatic diving attack. Elise manages to get all hers in.

The ball of light flames up once more and a burst of light shines from the centaur. An aura of flames begins to lick at the group one that is searing straight through Elise's skin and Alþórel's protective shell.

The is still being unleashed from the creature, the ball of light moves closer towards the creature and it appears as if it too has an aura. As the two of them grow closer the aura appears to be getting a lot hotter.

Waiting to see if the Centaur goes down; Amelia's ranged attacks are better directed to the non-prone wisp, but it would be worth it to try and finish off the Centaur if it's still up after others attack.

so did the hit do the fire damage or is it an aura? and did the hit just magically knock us back or were those rolls versus our CMD?


The mythic passive ability the centaur is using; is every time it hits someone on its own turn it places them to the edge of its reach. The ability that swung around was an altered version of whirlwind attack feat that changes everything to fire when he uses it. The aura pulses at the start of orb's turn (around the centaur), aura strength is depended on how far the orb is from the centaur. I could change the movement ability to incorporate CMB if you like though it would be hitting on 2s.

Once Dreyyn realizes how formidable this opponent is, he changes his tactics somewhat.

Dreyyn will wait until Elise is in melee with it so he can get flanking. Then he does the following.

Through a haze of fury Elise hears Al call out for them to switch target - but as the fiery centaur flung her backwards she lost track of the wisp-like thing. So with a snarl she re-engages the fallen centaur - for if it is torn appart swiftly they could quicker get on with it and target the real foe (whatever it was)!

"This fire creature sure is persistent!" Not trusting herself in attacking the prone centaur at range, Amelia instead steps closer and begins to slice at the creature with starknife in hand!

5 Foot Step, full melee attack with haste, then Fleet Charge. If the centaur is killed before the fleet charge, than the fleet charge is used move Amelia toward the Wisp and throw a starknife at it. Also, I'm not factoring in Prone.
