Tin Jasha |
"Lucia, why don't you and your friend see if there is anything we can refresh this gentleman up with in the guard room? Hmmmm? Take Lani as well. Slevin and I will make sickly guy comfortable. The poor dear did become ill in such a violent way."
Using the rags of her prison garb, she cleans his face, loosens his clothes to tend his wounds until the charmed guard departs. When the Lucia, Lani and guard depart room, Tin strips the body of its uniform, armor and valuables with an efficiency years of practice in the healing rooms could only give. Turning to Slevin, "I'll give you a moment to examine the body for any tattoos and scars. I am getting Grumblejack. He might be hungry. Waste not, want not. The Dark Lord would approve."
Tin Jasha |
Assuming Lucia, Lani and Charmed depart to other room.
Having stripped the dead guard down to his skivvies and tossed the clothes to Slevin, "Get a good look at him. Grumblejack is coming to move him to his cell. I suspect he may not be respectful to the dead, leastwise this one." Brushing her hands off, mostly out of habit as it does nothing to the embedded grime or blood, she leaves the her cell and heads towards the ogre's while saying his name,"Grumblejack! Got a present for you. Would you mind terribly to hide him in your former room?"
Assuming Slevin dons the guard's uniform, casts disguise and departs.
Grumblejack, tell me, how did they catch you? And how many died to take you alive? Will you help us? We can take you to a safe place afterwards or you can go your own way at any time. The others are questioning the remaining guard, so he must remain alive for a little longer. Soon we will escape more than just our cells. I'd like to brand a few guards on the way out but only if it is convenient.
Big OM |
"A present," he chuckles as he sees the dead guard. Picking up the guard, he mumbles something to him self, listening closely you can hear a part of a limerick: "..and then she put him in the stew..." Perhaps he isn't as feral as other ogres. Then the wet sounds begin as he pounds the body against the floor.
He stops as Tin comes into the cell. He seems a little happier now. Your questions put him a little on the defence and he seems unwilling to answer.
I suspect the enchantment is wearing of soon, what now? Would you like to get some questions in with the guard, prepare to kill him?
A mystic roll: 1d100 ⇒ 5
Big OM |
Without any problems Slevin assumes the form of the deceased guard and apart from the blood, damage and dirt from the attack to the clothes he looks the part and that might be in just the right time as the enchanted guard seems to be coming to himself. Slevin and Tin can hear him ask loudly from the room just outside the cells: "What, what are you doing out of your cells?" Lucia and Lani are even more aware of what is happening. The guard is slowly slipping out of control and regaining his own mind.
An ominous perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
And another d100, what can it be?: 1d100 ⇒ 79
Big OM |
Having made a mistake in regards to the duration of Lucias spell the changes are:
With Tin in the ogre's cell and Lucia and Lani just outside on the landing with the guard, Slevin has pleanty of time to change. The magic quickly changes his form to that of the guard, doning the damaged uniform, dirt and blood tells a different story than his face, after a little adjustment the dirt is no longer a problem.
My mistake should give you pleanty of time to prepare and interrogate.
Slevin Wraith |
Slevin walks into sight wearing the appearance of the other guard Illusion can actually take appearance of the guards clothes unstained. He's actually wearing one of the provided outfits but the guard's weapons.
He falls into place behind Lucia and Lani as if leaving with the prisoners is exactly what they are supposed to be doing.
Tin Jasha |
"Done having your fun? Good. Lets have some more. Don't play with our friendly guard, we still need him."
Jasha steps away from Grumblejack, leading the way to the other room. Seeing her fellow cellmates, she is filled with anticipatory glee. "I so love a tour of the place and meet some cute guards."
Big OM |
"You're properly right," the guard nods in agreement. He looks at Lucia, "what do you want to do then?" he asks.
---
"More fun wouldn't hurt," is Grumblejacks only response to Tin's question. He follows her out of his cell and stops dead in his tracks as he now sees the changed Lucia and Lani with the guard and the enchanted Slevin. His eyes turn small and his muscles flex as he prepares for combat.
Tin Jasha |
"Not yet Grumblejack. These friendly guards are going to introduce us to guard who branded us. We will have enough fun for everyone and soon, but not yet." Soothingly putting her hand on the big lug's arm. "Soon..." Deftly inserting herself between the big'n and the humans, "Such a dreary place. No distractions, no playthings on the wall. Don't you think crossed swords and a shield would look appropriate? Perhaps several axes hung alongside the door to better intimidate us prisoners? Right now I am just Bleh. Here, why don't you put your sword and gear on the fireplace mantle? It is a start. If you need them, they'll be right there." This last part is directed to the charmed guard and Lucia. Tugging the ogre's hand with both of hers, she starts to pull him towards the stairs, "Oh Lets start now. Where do you keep all the sharp scary stuff?"
I'll assume Tin still has the veil of many items. She'll peel off a dagger for her own defense and another to Lana. Slevin has the former guard's gear and all. She'll encourage the disarming of the charmed guard or at least some of the stuff that might be used against them later. She'll take "10" to examine his gear and suggest places to put it for proper feng shui intimidation. And no, she doesn't shut up.
Tin Jasha |
I have no problem being team leader. My unspoken concern was stepping on other RolePlaying toes. If this is what is holding things up, I will easily provide direction. First thing though: Lets get a roll call of continued interest and active players/characters/
Big OM |
Somehow faith must be smiling upon you, this escape might be easier than you realised. As the charmed guard relinquishes his knowledge to Lucia, you soon learn that the armoury is close, actually just down the stairs and right ahead then second door on the left. He readily hands over his own key which should open everything, besides the warden's and the sergeant's private quarters. It would seem as corruption is spreading in this place as Blackerley and 3 guards current are playing cards and drinking in the Gatehouse, the guards plucked from the patrols. Only one guard below, three others sleeping, one on the gatehouse and two on roaming patrols on the wall.

Tin Jasha |
Tin inspects the veil for useful items. There must be something she could use in the immediate future. Dagger is needed. Lucia has one dagger, Slevin has the guard's sword. Tin pulls the other dagger. Slevin has the tools. Rope? not yet. Window not yet. Lantern not yet. Flask of something, a bag of something and a stack of coins.
With dagger in hand she explains what she wants to do.
[limited time so I will summarize and not write out the verbose one-sided conversation Tin Jasha is known for. I wonder if she is one of those villains that has a prepped monologue? But I digress... [/ooc]
Tactics is for her to run past the guard probably sparking an AoO to allow for Grumblejack to flank and Slevin to sneak attack. If he looks like he will sound alarm, she will grapple him and hope for backup in time.
Sounds good? Lets get this story told.
Gimlet Bravo |
Let's get this party started!!
He was a small furry-footed hobbit with a celestial air about him, yet the guards treated him as if he was a large vial of alchemists fire that could go off at any time. It was rumored with his honeyed words and a bold plan, the little guy had conspired to overthrow the whole government and plunge the nation into civil disorder. His poor choice of conspirators was his primary downfall.
One guard taunted the little guy when he was first imprisoned. For some reason three days later he cut himself badly in the chest and died a bloody, painful death. Since then, the angel-touched hobbit was always manacled with a hood on his head to keep his voice muffled and spare those that guarded him his unsettling gaze.
Big OM |
As I recall you haven't looked into the room where you met Tiadora?
Still standing on the landing, there is only the stairs down and a door leading to the meeting room. As he is not allowed to go down stairs the ogre moves to the other door and opens it, hoping to find guards. His voice is disappointed almost sad as he say: "No guards just another little man." and walks back to Tin. Behind him the door is open and a small man tied to chair can be seen through it. Besides him is a table and a branding iron, someone could be bothered with finishing the job yet.
Divine intervention: 1d100 ⇒ 65
Tin Jasha |
Sitting on the top step, Tin Jasha is wonders what the ogre is up to. Until he opens an overlooked door, that is. Her eyes wide open, "Aw crap. There could be a couple of guards hiding out there...."
She starts to get up, hesitates, instead shifts her observation to the charmed guard. She really curious to see who Lucia and Slevin are referring to but satisfies herself with the fact of no combat. She can wait, barely.
Gimlet Bravo |
Sensing the presence of others, Gimlet calmly waited for them to approach. He calmly speaks in a muffled voice through his hood.
"I was wondering when we could resume our conversation. I miss my first guard Thad. Have you brought me another?"
Gimlet Bravo |
As the hobbit is released, he looks the picture of innocence. Carefully assessing his rescuers:
"I can be of use and could use a young adult size armor and weapon. I had a longsword, shield, and scale mail. Maybe you need a leader who understands what motivates good to be good?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
The hobbit is VERY convincing.
Tin Jasha |
Tying her hair up with the silken handkerchief, Tin summons Grumblejack to her. "Looks like the others a wee bit busy. Why don't you use that table leg as a club and follow me downstairs? We can talk to the guard below about the maintaining proper security. Gimlet is welcome to ask the guards about safekeeping of his armor as well."
She moves down the stairs in a stealth-like, assuming the others are not far behind. The dagger gripped tightly and wrist flexed so the blade is hidden by her forearm.
stealth 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Tin will go out with a TPK rather than stay here any longer.
Gimlet Bravo |
"I need no table leg to get these guards. I am with you."
Gimlet follows quickly.
Should I change into a lizardman if things get tough. I think claws and bites will work until I get a weapon.
Tin Jasha |
Giving a quick wink at the newly-freed recruit, she straightens up from skulking to the bottom of the stairs. Can she hear any presence on this floor? Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Edit: Nice roll! No wonder why she is so confident...
Big OM |
With no care in the world Tin leads the band of misfits down the stairs. Grumblejack is humming an unknown tune as the ogre finally sets out for revenge. Coming down the stairs you find yourselves in a 20x40 ft room with only a single shut door leading on. As the most natural thing in the world Tin walks up to the door and opens it. Looking back at the women two guards stare flabbergasted.
Perception please, Grumblejack is -1
Big OM |
Slevin's remark visibly relaxes the guards. They stand more at ease hands removed from their weapons. "Where are you taking them and why now?" The older one of the two asks.
They seem to be buying your bluff Slevin, remember you don't have to attack if you don't want to.
Initiative:
Slevin 20
Guards 13
Tin 12
Gimlet 4
Perception, guards: 1d20 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 6 = 15
