I just figured out your last post Meows. Jimmy's down for a duel.
Stump-o-matic thanks for the opportunity to explain the cat-bagging. Treppa gave me one earlier but the flow wasn't quite there.
NICE. Sorry I didn't give you a better opening. Frankly, I forgot all about the pics! >_< Don't know how with that social media addict gem immediately following.

I'm going in for surgery today and hope to be back online this weekend sometime. Though this isn't nearly good as Doug's "goat in the ventilation shafts" play, Sven won't be able to be his usual blathering, rude, and argumentative self until I'm back. So, nap time.
Later guys!

I also want to thank Meows, it was a great game. I look forward to the next one.
I am getting drug out to dinner tonight, so will have to wait to post until I get back, but I told wife she is going to have to put up with me checking my phone to see if there is a change of votes in the final minutes.

That's the end of "Who Goes There?", the victor in this is the creature team, but it was a very close game with a few minor early quirks and setbacks for both sides!
This spreadsheet is where I kept track of all the information, so for anyone who likes to see timekeeping.
Thank you everyone for playing, and I hope you join us next time! If you have any feedback for ways that I can improve the game experience, let me know, since I want to make sure these are fun for everyone in every role!

I always worried I was posting to much.
I did really try to never associate the creatures with "bad guys" or monsters. I am sure I slipped up here and there, but I tried to make it anytime I said monsters or bad guys I could have been talking about the humans instead of the creatures. I went in with the premise that the humans broke into our sleeping chambers and abducted us. We wake up and this cat attacks, we had to defend ourselves. That lead to another attack and us having to use our ability to blend in. Next thing we know we are trapped in this station with a bunch of evil humans trying to kill us off. It was a very terrifying ordeal!
I had a great time, and am very much looking forward to playing again.
The vote that Duke Leto was voted to be lynched. The round before I had scanned Sven and learned he was the other creature. I decided I did not believe that to be the case as every scan previous had proven to be false, so I thought I might as well assume this one was false as well. As the time ran down I realized that if Sven was the creature we could win by eliminating Duke Leto and Alexander, that would leave the roommates and the two creatures, so I withdrew my vote. Of course the scan was indeed wrong, I swore when Leto was revealed to be the other creature. At that point I was sure the humans would carry the day. Sven was just so damn convincing. I am quite certain if he would not have had to miss time during the week he would have convinced Dash and Robert to vote for me.
Again, I really enjoyed the game. Please let me know when the next one is set up.

I like that angle, Mike. I imagine the creatures were a bit confused, but in terms of behaviour, tend to be ruthless and bloodthirsty for whatever reason they might have. Fear is a good motivator. Unfortunately, you are right that all but one of your scans failed. It's pretty improbable, but I suppose it is always a possibility! Your last scan was correct, but didn't provide a lot of gameplay benefit. I guess it sort of balanced for the geneticists being exterminated.
I was hoping that the design of the game inspired a fair bit of paranoia in all parties. I intend for the next game to be a 1920s speakeasy where the roles are reversed or a more comical game titled 'Flame Wars' about internet rivalries gone awry.
The former seems more plausible, though, and I will post the link here when I open the recruitment. I'll keep this game active until I start one, but if there's any setting you'd like to see, I'd be happy to consider it. This next game will be rebalanced for private messaging.

I had a similar take on the creatures awakening in a state of primordial ooze, stumbling around in an unfamiliar environment trying to connect a tentacle to communicate with the other sentient beings resulted in an irrevocable symbiosis formation.
My hope was the geneticist would undo the deed so to speak.

I offered for early deaths to get early insight into what was happening. Most folks opted for suspense over information.
I always have opinions about what I think is going on in the background, and that is the only way to discuss!
I am curious if the roommates opted for any IC communication. Next time I will be even more in the dark when it comes to player strategy, since private messages will surely be a big part of it.

I felt badly about offing Tharp. By then I was so convinced that Russ was coded message genius. So when Mike Cooper drew attention to the fist bump, I rescinded my vote for Tharp. Unfortunately, I figured if we didn't Lynch someone that round, then I was dead in the next. So I had to vote Tharp to make sure sure no one tied the vote.
Pinvendor, how many of those coded messages were real, and how many were imagined by us?

I wouldn't feel bad. My earlier comment about coming back from my weekend away to find I would be lynched was serious. I felt like my character was a real jerk this time around with is really out of character for me personally. Based on a RP perspective, I expected to be lynched earlier on in the game just based on that which is why I calmed down a lot for the later half of the game.
Based on the situation I too had to alter my vote just to try and stay in the game. Somebody had to go that round. I would have voted for anybody else if it meant staying in the game another round just like anybody else. I really had a lot of fun this game. There was so much energy and the characters were really diverse with good back stories.

I'm looking forward to another game too. It was fun.

Oh yeah. I think Robert and I revealed at the right time to narrow down the list of possibilities of who the creatures could be and take the game right to the end. It was a good play in a game where we lost our geneticists really really early. I'd say Russ was the all star from the human side and you were a close second. Decent send off for this goofy avatar too.
PVP is just not my cup of tea is all :)

For those of you interested in a new game, I have started a recruitment thread.
I will be marking this thread as inactive in about a week's time, at least sometime before the next game ends.
