Alignment- Any, evil must be approved

Traits- Two, one from Absalom

Interesting characters and good backgrounds will be taken into consideration. But well built characters will have the best chance.
Ya know Absalom, so called city at the center of the world, is not all it seems. She has secrets, dark slippery secrets, she won't let them go easy. She will smile at ya, give you a right ol kiss in that soft spot of yours. Then when she's nibbling on ya ear, she'll put a dagger in your back right up to ya heart. You should have been lookin at her eyes not her breast. To late now ah, she'll never let you go.

I'm interested. Can we get a little more on the adventure before I spend the time on a 12th level character though? Right now you've got a cleric, a ninja and a possible bard.
I could be down to play a wizard, a magus, a monk. Anything really. But I'd like to have at least a small teaser about what we'll be doing first.

DM Irthos |

Sorry no Gunslingers, I have no exp with them and at this lvl I would not like to make it a learning exp if you know what I mean.
Have ya heard, down in the docks people been vanishin. Go out for some drinks and a lil wenchin, then gone and no one knows where. They don even finda body. Then theirs the merchant's quarter, ya think with all that gold flowing no one would mess with'em. Well thats just it, strange things been going on there. Twisted deaths and creepy stuff, guess all that gold don mean nothing to some things. Whatever's gone and made its way to them don seem like it'll leave.
-Tavern Rumor
Lets just say you start with a mystery then stumble on a war only to find a great threat and a best kept secret. ;)

Aldon Longstrider |

I give you Aldon Longstrider, Tierce's archer ranger.
Crunch is in the Alias info
Aldon Longstrider, is a ranger and retired Pathfinder. Aldon worked for the Pathfinder Society for more then 15 years as both a guide and investigator, but retired recently. His last mission, he was asked to inflitrate the Shadow Lodge, but had conflicting feelings about the Grand Lodges' motives. He eventurally retired but is still on good speaking terms with Grandmaster Torch and Ambrus Valsin.
Originally hailing from Andoran, Aldon has a strong sense of honor and upholds the law to the best of his ability. While working as a Pathfinder, he has done some investigation work on the side, as it feeds into his sense of honor to bring murders and filth to justice. Aldon has lived in Absalom for the last twenty years.
Even if I don't get in, I had alot of fun developing the idea and crunch for this character.

Armen Corrick |

I have an idea for a somewhat unhinged halfling or gnome Alchemist (psychonaut archetype) who whiles away his days as a brewer herbalist and merchant, and attempts to pin down prophecy and divination through heavily intoxicating himself and the occasional unwitting victim.
I can post a build later today if there is a spot for such a character.

Kal the Giant |

Sounds interesting, would like to put in a submission. I have the background and high level character details. I can finish scoping him out in a day or two if chosen. Thanks for you consideration.
In the early days it was said that giants were born from the stone of the mountains themselves from the magic of Thassilon. The hardy folk that live and grow up in those mountains believe that it could be true to this day.
It was into this life that Kal was born. His father was a huge beast of an Orc warrior, his mother a human slave taken in a raid. When a group of adventurers came and slew the Orcs his mother was freed. Such was her beauty that one of her saviors, an adventurer named Corvin, fell in love with her despite the half-breed that grew in her belly. But the possibility of a normal life was crushed when she died in child birth. Corvin was crushed by her death and being left with the thing that was baby Kal.
He left the next day, never to be seen again. The mid-wife was left with him and wasn’t sure what to do with this baby. Things would have gone badly for Kal had not the village Shamen, a Half-Orc himself, decided to take him in. Gronig was a tough but kind father. Kal grew faster than anyone could have imagined due to his blood.
Most in the village feared him as he grew but Gronig quickly decided he should be trained in a weapon worthy of his size, the Earthbreaker. He trained all of the time when he wasn’t working for his father, his slow wits were matched though with a fierce determination in whatever he set his mind too. Eventually he caught the eye of a young wizard looking for a bodyguard. This started another chapter in his life, the life of an adventurer.
The wizard looked out for Kal and made sure that no one took advantage of the simple giant, while Kal made sure little got close to him without being severely injured. Through dungeons, mountains, ruins they adventured with others until his skill became great, as did his wealth. He knew little to do with it so he spent what he had to protect himself and make him a better warrior.
Eventually the Wizard Illmire decided he had enough and retired to Absalom taking Kal with him. Kal was not sure what to do so with his life without Illmire so he wondered the streets for a while, looking for more adventure. It was what he was good at, protecting people from the bad things.
It was then that he met some new adventurers looking for someone of his skill and temperment...
Personality – Kal has forever dwarfed those around him. Of slow mind but being kind, people have often taken advantage of the gentle man even though they feared him for his size. He is kind and slow to anger, but is determined in everything he does.
Class – Fighter 11 (FC)/BBN 1 (Two Handed Specialist from APG)
Will make a good front line tank.
Traits - TBD.

Alright, one of my other PBPs just died, so I'm definitely getting in on this.
With that additional teaser and the other submissions I think I'll write up a wizard (maybe sorcerer once I look at it more closely) when I get home from work in a few hours. Generalist arcane caster with a focus on conjuration.

DM Irthos |

When it comes to crafting, you can make all your own stuff if you want. Just make sure you have spellcraft, feat, spell, and CL for whatever you make. So if you make a Cloak of Resistance, it maxes at +4 sense your lvl 12. Also resistance better be in your spellbook/spells known or take out the gold as if you bought a scroll.
Any crafting done once we start will take the normal time etc etc. I think you get it ;)

Bungo Brockhouse |

Bungo grew up in Absalom. He found that life was easier if he helped himself to what he needed, indulging in the worst stereotypes of his race. In time, he found an even easier way to make a living. Rather than take things for himself and have to try to sell them after, he began to hire his services out. The rich and powerful would pay far more than an item was worth, simply for the presige of owning it. He also began to deliver "messages" for some of his clients. It was surpising how many big folk found a halfling unnerving.
To the respectable citazens of Absalom, he was Bungo Brockhouse, a harmless halfling with enough coin to buy a round for what ever bar he happened to frequent for the night. To those who can afford his services, he is known by a different name. Behind locked doors, the unscrupulous whisper of the one who gets the job done. They whisper of The Mouse.

Where are Absalom traits, and what will be doing. I want to make a character that fits. <---Whatever you can say without giving spoilers will work. As an example, intrigue, devils, demons, saving the world, just trying to get rich, etc.....

Elbennon Morosi |

Here is my alias (Jelani). Crunch should be complete, needs proofreading but I'll do that later. Background is in the alias as well, but I'll reprint it here:
Born in Sovyrian in 4434 AR, Elbennon Morosi is thoroughly elven. His parents were extremely conservative. His father a powerful wizard, his mother a skilled swordswoman. They were an old family who still told tales of how dreadful Golarion and 'those barbaric humans' were. Like most children he accepted his parents' worldview as fact. So he spent his first two centuries of life training at the various arts expected of any elven child. He learned graceful swordplay in the morning and in the afternoons he studied magecraft. He sought perfection in all that he did.
All of this was well and good before the dreams came. The elves hold dear a concept called the Brightness, its highest ideal is to be reborn into the world as a natural creature. It was always Elbennon's wish that he would attain the Brightness, and when he began to have portentious dreams he couldn't ignore them. The dreams led him to forsake Sovyrian, despite his parents' wishes. They led him to Golarion, and on many adventures. He continually increased his knowledge and his ability to understand the natural order. For over a human lifetime, Elbennon has wandered the surface of Golarion following his dreams.
In recent decades he has been living in Absalom, his dreams guiding him to help out with various problems there. His latest dream features a seagull flying over the docks and tangled streets of the city, then coming to rest on a post near an alley. As the bird stands there pecking, shadows ooze out of the alleyway and devour it. He has been attempting to find the reason for his dream and to resolve it.
The gull's dirty white wings shine in the sun as it soars over the city. Below can be seen the tangled alleys of the Puddles. The muddy streets are full of people despite the early hour. Goodfolk busy emptying chamber pots and preparing for the day. Drunken sailors and homeless struggling to wakefulness from their night in the gutters. Whores shutting their windows for the day, ready for their rest.
The gull sweeps in low over the piers, squawking raucously as it lands on a post next to an alley. The perspective widens to take in the bird pecking at it's wooden perch, the alley behind it still cloaked in post-dawn shadows. Slowly the shadows begin to twist and melt, reflecting no object within sight. They ooze silently along the ground towards the post like a stalking cat. The gull, oblivious to its impending fate continues to peck at the post, hopping from foot to foot. Powerless to intervene he watches as the shadowy form pounces on the bird, tearing it asunder. As the bright red blood splatters onto the planks of the walkway his eyes jerk open with a start.
Elbennon is sitting crosslegged on the carpet of his upscale room in the Petal district. Sweat is beaded on his brow, and he cannot shake a sense of dread despite his posh surroundings. The same dream again. What can it mean? he wonders, getting up to pour himself a glass of wine. If only prohpetic dreams were less abstract...heh. He swirls the burgundy colored liquid idly while he muses, his silk dressing robe gleaming in the candle light. No matter, I shall simply keep looking. Another day has arrived, perhaps some answers will arrive with it.
If you have any questions, corrections or suggestions please let me know DM Ithros.

@Mr.Swagger
Absalom traits the quickest way to find them is by going to d20pfsrd.com and looking under regional traits. Without spoiling anything I can say it will have a bit of intrigue, outsiders, saving the world, and secret uncovering.
As for how well built, expect brutal combat so making a brutal character is acceptable. After all at that lvl death is not a huge issue then at earlier lvls. ;)

@Calcedon
Your classes are a bit confusing. You have summoner 3 on one and sorcerer 3 on the other. You also have sorcerer feats and powers but an eidolon too. I think you need to look over your build again and fix it, unless I am missing something.
@Aldon
I think I have a healthy selection to choose from so I will be closing recruitment tonight. As for starting up, at latest a day after the choices have been made.
Updated PC list.
-Horad, Dwarf Cleric of Irori (Incomplete stats and background needed)
-Bungo, Halfling Ninja (Done)
-Aldon, Human Ranger Infiltrator (Done)
-Armen, Halfling Alchemist Psychonaut (Background needed)
-Drovya, Half Elf Magus Bladebound (Done)
-Kal, Half Orc Fighter (Nearly done)
-Sir Calcedon, Human Dragon Disciple (Stat corrections needed)
-Elbennon, Elf Eldritch Knight (Done)
Edit-Kal whats the FC stand for?

Mr. Swagger |

I could only find 2 Absolam traits. I am just making sure these are our only choices.
Absalom Hotspur (Absalom) and Cosmopolitan (Absalom). If so I do know which one I am going with.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Irthos I have to work early today so hopefully that means I should be home early. My mechanics are almost 100%. I just don't have time to finish before I leave for work which is in about 15 minutes. If you can hold the game open until later tonight I should be able to make it.

Sorry about putting Sorcerer on the class list, it was a typo. For a short time I was considering doing sorcerer instead, but I changed it back without changing everything. The reason I have sorcerer levels is for the bloodline powers my character picked up through means other than his classes.
The Abyssal Bloodline comes through the Eldrich Heritage feats, which for the purposes of the bloodline powers provides a sorcerer level of character level -2. The Robes of Arcane Heritage give a +4 to sorcerer level for bloodline powers only, so that is where the 14th level Abyssal sorcerer level came from. The only thing that this really does is treat my level as higher for the strength of the Abyss power, and bumps my Strength up by +2.
The Draconic Bloodline comes through the Dragon Disciple Prestige class. If he doesn't have levels in Draconic sorcerer, he gains the Draconic Bloodline powers as a sorcerer equal to his Dragon Disciple level, which is seven. Again the Robes of Arcane heritage give a +4 to sorcerer level for bloodline powers, and so for the sake of those bloodline powers, my sorcerer level is 11. This mostly just affects the breath weapon attack and a +1 to Natural Armor.
Since I took levels of summoner, I run off of that spell list and progression.
I know it can be a bit odd with all of those rules that you may not have dealt with before, but I can guarantee you that I am a strong roleplayer, and even though I tend to optimize my characters, they aren't just about dealing damage and owning encounters. If you want me to dial it back a few notches, I am fully capable of doing that too, as sometimes my home group likes me to do. Higher levels are where the DD starts to shine, so please forgive my enthusiasm and wall of text.

DM Irthos |

@Mr.Swagger
No problem, being a little late wont knock you out of the running. Also you can use traits from Wayfinder 1 which has some for Absalom, you can get it as a free download.
@Oterisk
As long as its part of the rules I dont generally have a problem with it, just needed to know where it came from and such. I thought you may have been a crossblooded sorcerer. xP

Armen Corrick |

Armen is a happy-go-lucky sort who has tripped and fallen his way forward through life. Born, raised and educated in Absalom,
he was convinced that the key to prophecy and divine insight wasn't in the presence of the divine, but the unlocking of potential already within the brain; when a laboratory explosion and unfortunate inhalation of mixtures took him... somewhere, mentally speaking.
He has since put his time and effort into tapping into that ability. This has resulted in some... side effects. Armen is roughly five or six cards short of a full deck on a good day. He has left behind him a string of twitchy (and sometimes far worse-off) students and apprentices, upset and angry customers, that kind of thing.
His training came from the recognition of promise in a local wizard, but Armen had no interest in the arcane art, rather the science of bubbling beakers drew him in. He distilled his knowledge into glass files rather than mighty spells, and his teacher turned him out as a failure. So Armen makes his way in the world as a merchant, a scientist, a brewer, a snake-oil salesman or whatever else he needed to do to get by.
Armen's greatest achievement was the opening of the "Lunatic's Binge" Brewery-- initially just a means of making money to support his experiments, Armen eventually started dosing his beers to document the effects on the imbibers--Hey, a larger sample size was necessary!--this resulted in some unwanted attention from the law and many malcontent customers, and this resulted in a disastrous going out of business sale. Sail might be the better word, as some pieces of the brewery sailed well past the walls of Absalom, and caused not inconsiderable damage to the neighborhood, and to the neighborhood's residents mental well-being.
Currently laying somewhat low and planning his next business venture, Armen is still in high spirits, getting high on his own spirits, and trying to find a touch of the divine in his own mind.
Armen is a purely support character as it stands--not sure what place he has in this sort of game, but I think he can hold his own.
