Tall tales and stories have lead you to an inn called "Crossroads." An inn in the middle of now where. This is the place were the stories start, and you hope to find answers here. The place itself is unimpressive, a small hut. Hardly the stuff of legend, but as you approach you begin to smell roast pork and onions. When you open the door the sound of a busy tavern assails your ears. Upon entering you see an impossibly large tavern hall. The interior is easily five times the size of the hut and it is filled with strange people. A blond haired human girl carrying a tray spots you and approaches. "By your expression you must be new here Mail said here would be some new blood. Your table is that one near the fire. Mail will explain everything when he comes down. First drink is free. So... what will you have." Everyone will be directed to the same table.

Tyrnvald Olafson |

Ale is fine girl. So we were expected huh?
Tyr makes his way to the table, he sits in a chair near the wall leans it back and throws his hooves up on the table.
Name is Tyrnvald, most people call me Tyr. So anyone know why we were expected here? Or who is this Mail person?

Cadwal |

The establishment seemed awfully generous to Cadwal. Especially given that most are more put off by his appearance.
W-Water, if you please.
"New Blood" she said? What could she mean by that? And this Mail person... well, best not to ask about it for now.
He proceeds to sit near the fire, surveying the others gathered here.
What an odd group of people to meet by chance. Could it be more than that? Perhaps this has to do with them expecting us. But for what cause? Good or ill? I do hope this doesn't lead to some awful mess of violence.

Tyrnvald Olafson |

Bread and stew please.
Tyr looks to those that sat before him and those that came after.
So at least in the north where i come from when one offers up there name it is polite for others to do the same. I thought people thought us northmen to be uncivilized...For those new to the table, Names Tyrnvald. People call me Tyr.

Castiel the Strange |

"The Stew for me as well, Thank you. OH. And some carrots please." Castiel answers.
The young mage takes note of the people around him and introduces himself as well. "Greetings. I'm Castiel or Cass for short."

Valonia Nisassa |

"Nothing for me thanks", Valonia remarks quietly, preferring to sip her water.
"You can call me Valonia if you wish,", she says in response to her companions introducing themselves.

Mailhain Starfall |

This appears to be a large feast hall lined with trophies. Animal heads, strange weapons, and armor are but a few of the decorations. The people themselves add to the unusual decor. A centaur and satyr are discussing the virtues of nymphs. An angel and a devil play a game of chess. A even stranger creatures carry on strange discussions., but all hush as a lone figure descends down the stairs. He appears to be elven dressed in a white robe with many Ioun stones circling his head. He moves toward your table and sits without saying a word. "Welcome, I'm sure you have many questions. Now is the time to ask them."

Tyrnvald Olafson |

Tyr smiles at the barmaid and give her a pat on the behind as she leaves.
I may just do that. Let me see what this Mail character wants first. Keep the ale coming, would you dear?
He looks to Mail, takes his feet off the table and pulls his chair forward so that he can eat.
So the lass said we were expected. I'm not sure why I'm here besides gettig a hot meal. I guess the question is who are you? Did you somehow call us all here?

Mailhain Starfall |

"Well. In a way yes I called you here. More appropriately I called your souls. Forgive my rudeness. My name is Mailhain Starfall."
He paused for a moment and tilted his head as if listening to something. Then he continued "You are and have always been in a prison. It exists outside of your perception but I assure you it is there. There are entities that make even the gods tremble, and this prison was designed to hold them. Not by force, but by trickery."
"As to why you are here, these worlds needed to be populated. While most of the people were followers of these beings there was no way to predict what the children of these followers would do. You are those children. Or moe appopriately the great great great grandchildren. Not all the people in this world are real. Most are just constructs. But you are real, and as real people you have souls. I used powerful magics to call you here."

Tyrnvald Olafson |

Yep, what Stephen there said. We all heard the stories before, but they are just that stories. But lets say you are right you still didn't say why you called us here. Are we to populate the world again?
His eyes shift to fined Ruka as he says this.
I mean I'm all for that type of mission, but something tells me you need us or want us for something. Am I right?

Mailhain Starfall |

"Proof I can provide, but only with time. As to why I called you here. I must leave the place for a time. But I have unfinished business here. People like yourself who could not come to my call. People who need help."
"For those of you with less philanthropic motives there are rewards to be given. One of which is an escape from this prison. Another is to become like me."

Tyrnvald Olafson |

I can get on board for people in need. Just as long as your not pulling my leg here. So who are these people? what can we do for them?a god huh? That seems a bit of a reach, but ok Mail. You have peeked my curiosity and desire to help others.

Mailhain Starfall |

"I assure you I do not pull legs. As for what can be done I shall attempt to explain."
"While you were able to come to my summons, there are many who could not. whether fortune or fate these people need to be rescued. Some have the skills to survive, such as you. And some do not. Take Ruka for example, outside of this tavern she would be homeless, jobless, and I fear hopeless. She has no skill at arms, such as you."
"I must leave this place for a time and when I do the sanctuaries I have created will cave in upon themselves. This cannot be prevented. And I fear when this occurs things will change, for the worse. As a condition of my abilities I cannot free anyone from the prison. What I can do is guide you though the worlds so you can free yourselves. My hope is that you will take some of these people with you when you do."

Valonia Nisassa |

Valonia looks skeptical but is prepared to accept what Mailhain says at face value for now. "Saving people isn't really my forte... although I guess I could give it a go if nothing else...what do you need us to do?"

Tyrnvald Olafson |

Alright Mail, again lets assume all your saying here is on the up and up. What people are you talking about? When you leave are we to defend this place?

Mailhain Starfall |

Mailhain looks at Valonia. "I assure you, the treasures you will find along the way will be vast."
Mailhain looks at Tyrnvald and says "The people in question are like you. The ones who have souls. Like Ruka. And you will not be defending this place. You will be defending a place of your own design."

Tyrnvald Olafson |

So how do we start then? You said you must be off...So what does that leave us to do? What of the people without souls? Are they not real. I don't know if I can buy that and not do anything to help them as well, if I am able at least.

Mailhain Starfall |

"Yes I must leave but I will not leave until you are ready. As for those without souls they must remain and sever there function. They are like animals, very complex animals, but animals just the same. If you wish to save them it is as if you were saving a pet. It will live and eventually die. And without them the Prison would not work. Those that slumber would rise. So saving all of them is not a good idea.

Mailhain Starfall |

"You will be rulers and lead armies. But that time is far from now. The first thing you need to do is decide where you would like to build such a city. In the mountains, in a valley, maybe underground, even a cloud could be place for your city. Well maybe not a cloud, but a city in the clouds. The choice is yours"

Mailhain Starfall |

"Ahh yes. The most difficult yet most rewarding choice. A sky citadel would be able to move where it is needed, or wanted. We will need to retrieve a Magus Eye to pull that one off. Then we will simply sheer of a mountain top and build your city on the smooth side. But before you can do that we need to recruit a few people. If all your questions are answered I know what your first task will be."

Tyrnvald Olafson |

A sky city huh? Doesn't sound half bad Castiel. I assume the others agree as no one has spoke up offering a different location. Limits the threats of invasion, but also gives us the headache of stocking up on goods and such, but seems well worth it. So what is this first task then?
