Alzaar Na' Keth |

Yeah, Alzaar will attack with his whip.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

Alzaar's whip rends some flesh off the demonic head!
Round 6:
The fanged head flies down to Alzaar to bite him, thus granting the frustrated paladin and elf AoOs. If it survives, it moves to bite the bard!
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Jalal and Gorguk get AoOs, then the party is up.

Jalal Hammada |

AOO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Gorguk |

When Jalal fells the head Gorguk does not say a word to him or the others. Instead, with head bowed, he walks off leaving the group to do whatever it is that they feel they need to do at this time. If it is searching the room or inspecting the heads Gorguk wants none of it. If others talk to him he ignores them and resolutely strides away.
No i am not leaving the group. I am having too much fun even if it is at my own expense.. Instead Gorguk is going to go find that shrine to Sarenrae that was found earlier and spend the next hour or so in prayer and meditation and clean that room as well. Hopefully that will atone for whatever misdeed he committed and will set things back straight.

Rhade Poshment |

"Don't go running off by yourself, Gorguk! There's all kinds of nasty beasts running around, it looks like. We can't have them sneaking up in you or us."
Especially since you can hit any of them, lol!

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal wipes his blade to clean off the bits of corpse skin. He looks up to see Gorguk walking off. "Now where is he going?"
He yells after the half-orc. "Faith, my friend! This is the time to have faith. I do not know the will of the Dawnflower, but in times like this, your faith is tested and it is how you hold on to it which will earn you blessings."

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal follows Gorguk back to the temple area. "Ah there you are." He nods at the man begins praying. "As I said, when all seems lost is the most important time for faith, my friend."
The elf settles down next to Gorguk to begin his own prayers to the Lady of Graves.
No problem. All in the name of good RP.

Gorguk |

Gorguk does not say anything as Jalal enters but does give a nod that he heard him. He remains silent not giving voice to anything until his hour long service and worship is over. At that time Gorguk will turn to Jalal and whomever else may have arrived in the meantime.
I am sorry for my disappearance but I needed to come to this place to focus again on what my purpose is. I was beginning to lose faith back there with the flying heads. I am now ready to continue on if you still wish for me to continue with you. I will do better next time.

Rhade Poshment |

Rhade whispers to Kakra and Alzaar, as the other two go pray to their respective dieties. "I'm not sure how dependanble those two are. Religion is good and all, but there will be plenty of time to lay your respects after we get out of this place. Hopefully, they'll be done soon."
After the two return, Rhade tries to keep their spirits up. "Where to next, gentlemen? You all lead, and I'll accompany. Plenty of treasures to be discovered down here."

Gorguk |

Gorguk looks to rhade and responds with a slap on the gnome's back, My good lad the greatest treasure i seek is to make sure that i am still blessed by Sarenrae. If that means continuing on in our search here then let us not linger any longer unless this area still needs to be searched by you for lost knowledge and artifacts.
Can't remember is this area was serached or not but figured you all could take 20 while Gorguk and Jalal were praying.

![]() |

"Paladins..." Kakra mutters under her breathe with a sigh as the half orc walks away and Rhade comments on his dependability.
Once Gorguk returns however, Kakra looks relieved to be back on task once more.

Jalal Hammada |

As he rises from his prayers, Jalal feels Pharasma's blessing on him and his wounds begin to heal. He turns to look at Gorguk and sees the Lady has granted him the same blessing. "Ah, Pharasma grants us blessings so we may continue! Rise, sir Paladin. We should see what else this house holds."
Cast Cure Light Wounds on Jalal and Gorguk
Jalal: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Gorguk: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Gorguk |

Nope, still 1 hour of praying as I didn't see any spells in effect. No reason to cut it short unless the rest of the party came flying in screaming they were under an attack.
Gorguk will turn to Jalal after the prayer and meditation, Thanks for the boost in confidence and the healing my friend. I only hope that I can justify it going forward and repay all of you formy lack on contribution in the previous room.

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

Gorguk and Jalal start praying, while the rest of the party stays close waiting for its 2-heavy hitters to resolve their confidence issues. 15 minutes into the praying, you all hear heavy stomps and barks coming down the stairs. Jalal and Gorguk stand up from kneeling, readying their weapons.
You see two astonishing things come around the corner. First is a black-furred, two-headed dog as large as a horse with midnight-black eyes. Tiny worms crawl on its mangy hide. The second is a muscular lumbering giant, over 8' tall, wielding a greatclub and wearing a necklace of skulls. He snarls at the party and speaks in an oafish voice, "I knews I sensed good in ma house. You come to stop my kidsnapping and consumptions of innocents?! Now, you will die!" He eyes Kakra, the only female, in the party with great demented pleasure....
Initiative:
Dog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Humanoid: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Alzaar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Gorguk: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Kakra: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Jalal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Rhade: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Round 1:
Its master commands, "Bring her to me, Shadow!" The 2-headed dog leaps into action toward Kakra! It reaches her and attempts to bite her, but cannot grip on to her arm due to the armor! Hope that gets the adrenaline going!
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15...miss!
Party is up!

Gorguk |

know religion if the dog is undead since it has worms on it? If so then he will smite it as well. IF not then the giant will be the focus of the smite to gain some valuable AC.1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Gorguk moves quickly to counter the threat as he moves west and then a step southwest to start to get a flank on the the dog. (ending at the B in the B15) From there it should be easy to step south again to provide a flank at the next opportunity while still hoping to keep the giant away from the party as a whole considering its large size.
power attack on doggy 1d20 + 2 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 3 - 1 = 18 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Your evil ways have come to an end and you will pay for your affront to the children you have abducted.

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

The 2-headed dog is not undead but as evident by the rotten salivary glands on its jaw and the worms coursing through its fur, it is diseased and highly likely, its bite will pass it on.
Gorguk's strike cuts through the dog's flesh and it bleeds, angering the giant.
Jalal, Kakra, and Alzaar still to go.

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal calls out to Pharasma for power to end this creature. "You will not take her!" Pharasma's deathly power fills the room and the elf skirts around Alzaar to engage the beast.
Cast Bless, then move NW, W, SW, ending at the bottom of the '5' in B15, drawing his sword.

Alzaar Na' Keth |

Alzaar sends his whip out towards the dog's hind legs, in an attempt to bring it to the ground.
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Kakra, watch out!

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

Kakra withdraws..
Round 1:
The muscular giant stomps around the courtyard, reappearing with his club in hand. He gets greeted by Rhade's acid ball that burns some skin off his arm. He looks at Gorguk, "Little knight, I going to crush ye! You will not stop me from eating more children!" He flexes his chiseled torso and brings the club down on the paladin! Unfortunately, for the giant, the club hits the ground 2 feet in front of the paladin. The giant looks mystified as to how he missed and this only angers him more!
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8...really?
Round 2:
The 2-headed diseased dog turns its attention on the paladin, who wounded it, but the warrior is protected from on high, because no attack even threatens him!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Party is up!

Jalal Hammada |

Remember, everyone gets +1 to hit from the Bless!
Jalal swings his sword hard at the diseased dog.
Attack (Bless): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Rhade Poshment |

Rhade keeps teasing the giant. "Look at the big dumb ugly giant. You smell like dookie, but you're probably too dumb to figure out what that means!". He hoped the giant might lose his temper and charge him, opening himself up to the others. He used more acid to try to add injury to insult.
RTA 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 16
Damage 1d3 ⇒ 3
"Hahaha, I got you again, giant!

Gorguk |

Gorguk was in the unenviable position that he could be sandwiched by the giant and the 2 headed dog. He wanted to step up to provide a flank for Rhade but doing so would leave him vulnerable. It would also let the giant free to enter the room to attack the others. Instead the best action would be to attack the dog and hope that Rhade could finish it off and they gang up on the giant.
Power attack dog 1d20 + 2 + 3 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 3 + 1 - 1 = 8 for 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6 I think I am going to cry...I have never seen such a lousy paladin. Lol
Gorguk then steps NW to the giant to block its entrance into the room.

Alzaar Na' Keth |

Alzaar sends his whip out at the dog again, trying to help Gorguk and Jalaal.
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
We have to stop that dog quick so they don't get double teamed!

![]() |

I'm still here, sorry, I'm not very useful in combat against non-undead right now, mainly because I used my only offensive spell for the day already. My offensive choices are make an attack at -5 or light a torch and throw it in an attempt to use my domain power. :(

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

The bard's whip lashes around the dog's back paw and surprisingly, it falls to the ground, flat on its stomach, prone!
Round 2: Giant
The giant is nicked again by Rhade's acid and he is getting angrier! However, with the paladin blocking the way, there is but one target! This time the giant does not miss, though Gorguk is able to deflect the blow from caving in his chest! "Step aside little knight, I need to kill the gnome!"
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22...hit, even with smite evil in effect
Damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 3) + 7 = 12
Round 3: Death Dog
The dog stands from prone.
Jalal and Alzaar get AoOs at +4 to hit and you might kill the dog, so will wait.

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal attacks the dog as it tries to stand.
Attack(Bless): 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 1 + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Max!

Gorguk |

Gorguk reels in pain after the solid hit from the giant. Clearly they need to finish this quickly before the giant can get any more of those types of hits in. At least Gorguk did his task of limiting the movement of the giant so he couldn't get to Rhade or Alzaar.
Focusing through the pain Gorguk heals himself and then turns to the giant and ignores the taunt as he swings with his scimitar trying to take out the kneecap of the giant.
LoH 1d6 ⇒ 6
Power attack 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 13 for 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8 Come on now. This is really getting on my nerves...

Rhade Poshment |

DM, if Rhade moves forward to just north of Jalal, I think he can cast a 15' come to hit the giant and not hit Gorguk. If that's right, that'll be the plan.
Burning hands 3d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
DC 14 Reflex for half.

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal smiles to himself as he sees the dog's heads fall. He whirls around to face the giant. "My ancestors fought to establish this city. I will fight to keep it from you!" The elf rushes the giant, his sword held high.
Move 2W and the giant.
Attack (Bless): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The_Golden_Mummy aka DM |

The_Demonic_DM |

Rhade's acid hits again. Total damage taken: 6 (all acid!)
Round 3: Giant
"Your friends will not save ya hide, little knight!" The ogre smiles, showing his yellow and rotted teeth and swings mightily again, but Gorguk recognizes the poor skill, even worse than the pages who brought him his armor, and he quickly deflects the blow with his shield. The giant stops smiling.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11...miss!
Party is up!

Rhade Poshment |

"This is fun! Burning the big dumb giant. I can do this all day, but it still might be nice if someone else hits him, too!". Rhade keeps up the barrage.
RTara 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 1
Damage 1d3 ⇒ 1

Gorguk |

Gorguk glances over at Rhade for the backhanded comment and returns his focus on the giant. Stepping to the north to give Rhade a better line of fire he times the swing with his scimitar to when Jalal is in a flanking position. With everything else that is causing problems he starts praying to Sarenrae for a strike this time.
Readied power attack from flank1d20 + 4 + 1 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 + 3 + 2 = 26 for 1d6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 3 = 10 Thank goodness...
Sarenrae must have heard the prayers as gorguk's blade slices downward and delivers a nasty slash upon the giants thigh drawing large amounts of blood. It wasn't enough to fell the behemoth but it was a start at least.

Jalal Hammada |

Jalal nods at Gorguk as he sees the half-orc move to flank the giant. He steps around similarly. The elf calls out to his warrior ancestor, "Glifortius, guide me!" As before, a ghostly outline of a powerful elf merges with Jalal's form, taking his sword arm in a skilled cut at the giant's ribs.
5 foot step to flank. Move action for Sacred Council.
Attack (Bless, flank, SC): 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
