I thought the plan was to open the door while the demon was still far enough away to get it to charge Brebork. I guess we will have to adapt. We won't get the charge but when I fling open the door hopefully we will gain surprise.

The demon pounds on the door, and Eli curses under his breath that the preperations took too long. He grips the door handle and with a nod to Brebork he whispers, "Blast it with your holy power." A breath later he flings the door wide and attempts to smash the vial of holy water on the creatures goat-like head.

Ohhhhhh, I missed that part of the plan. Now I understand. But then, the setup of the group is all wrong. Dumah and Bahiyy would not be in front of Brebork if the plan was to make the demon charge. That's fine, we can rewind it, if you'd like. Sorry about that. Or just proceed as normal. Let me know.

I think we are okay with proceeding as we are now, DM. Let's get it on!

Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

You know what they say about plans and meeting the enemy...

Initiative 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Ok! Need a stealth check from you, Eli, to see if you get surprise.

male Human Cleric 5

As soon as the door opens Bahiyy speaks an inspiring word to Quzman, to do his best +2 to attack and damage, does not stack with bless.

Do we have a surprise round, then Inspiring word on Quzman

Stealth 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (19) - 5 = 14
Inititive 1d20 ⇒ 15

Bahiyy's AC: 17

Attack: +7 (+2 BAB, + 2 stength +1 bless, +1 divine favor, +1 magic mace)
Damage: +5 (+ 2 stength +1 inspire courage, +1 divine favor, +1 magic mace)

Kezurkian's Perception Check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 (ooh horrible roll! Chance to surprise!)
Eli's Stealth roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Eli kicks open the door, catching the demon unawares for the first time in his life! The vial of holy water flies through the air and smashes against the demon's forehead, causing him to scream in pain, as the liquid burns him, instantly leaving acidic-type scars on his face! Kezurkian's rage is very obvious as he looks at Eli with murderous eyes! It's on like Donkey Kong! Initiative for anyone who has not rolled!
Demon takes 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 damage.

Initiative for Brebork: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Initiative for Kezurkian: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Initiative for Gnolls: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Good luck everyone!

"DEMON YOUR DAYS ARE OVER!" Eli stays inside the mill to the side of the door baiting the monster to come inside and become surrounded by the Sand Stalkers.

Did the vial occur in the surprise round or before. Just so I know if I get to post another action or not once the combat order is decided.

Surprise Round

Spoiler:

Throws Holy Water vial at the demon.

To hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage if connects 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

Never mind...

If you get 17 or higher stealth check, you get surprise round.

Revised my previous post. Sorry. One would think I am excited or nervous about this combat. Or both.

male Human Cleric 5

Alright, wait and see the map when it's Bahiyy's turn, if he can attack - without giving up a favorable position, or just use an inspiring word.

Quzman's Stealth roll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Brebork's Stealth roll: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10...No surprise round for either!

Upated Map

Post your actions. This looks bad for the gnolls and K.

Round 1

Dumah will do what I posted prematurely for the surprise round, throwing a flask of holy water at the demon. The rolls were 24 to hit and 5 damage.

As soon as the demon comes into view from the opened door, Jarva casts his prepared spell hoping to entangle the entirety of the scouting party. If I cast entangle at the spot I posted earlier, it should get all of them in the burst, and leave Quzman and Eli untouched.

hp 55/55 AC: 26/17/21 F +5 R +11 W +6 {+4 vs bards/sonic/lang; +1 vs traps} Initiative + 4; Perception +9

Eli takes a step behind the wall (5-ft step to M13) and waits for the demon to enter the mill so he can attack once the demon crosses the threshold. He holds the raiper ready to defend against any attack. "Come get me Kezurkain, if you not afraid, for the Sand Stalkers are ready to finish you!"

Rnd 2 of Inspire Courage

Current AC w/Shield of Faith, Combat Expert, Fight Defensive: 20

Free Action, Default Bluff 1d20 ⇒ 19

Gnoll Reflex Saves:

#2: 1d20 ⇒ 12
#3: 1d20 ⇒ 16
#4: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Kezurkian: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Jarva's eyes glow as the desert sands obey his commands and engulf the demon and the gnolls, but the demon and one of the gnolls are too agile and evade the sand tentacles for now. The others yell in horror as they find themselves hampered by the sand. The poor goat is also engulfed.

Dumah throws a vial of holy water that again scars the demon. He looks at the party with hatred and you all hear his raspy hoarse voice in your minds say, "Your petty magics do not impress me! I shall enjoy ripping the flesh off your bones tonight!"

Not sure who is up right now, but Jarva wants to wait until the big fella gets into the room before he moves up to attack. If its Jarva's turn now, he will pull an animal from the bag of tricks and send it into the fray as it might help with flanking, even if it probably won't beat the demon's DR. If not, Jarva will try to move up and attack the demon once it moves into the mill.

Jarva already went this round, with the Entangle spell. Waiting for Bahiyy and Quzman.

Cool. I got a little confused with the surprise round and all.

male Human Cleric 5

Seeing the demon is outside, Bahiyy speaks an inspiring word to Quzman - "the demon is ripe for you, you will get him easily!"

Quzman gets: +2 morale bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round

Quzman delays; Gnolls delay till after Kezurkian

Kezurkian grabs his halberd, licks its blade with his purple tongue, leaving spittle on it and moves (to M12). Eli swings with Tempest, but the blade fails to touch the agile demon. Kezurkian smiles and says, "I will show you power, mortal, power from the Abyss!", as he swings his halberd at Eli with great force and skill, gutting the rogue, leaving a deep gash. Eli also realizes it could have been much worse, as he actually avoided most of the blade. Eli takes 12 points of damage. The demon smiles at Eli's pain and anguish.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Seeing his friend hurt, Quzman springs into action and moves behind the demon (M11), creating a flank with Eli and swings his both his aligned magical scimitar and magical dagger at the demon. The scimitar strikes hard, its enchanted and aligned blade easily cutting through the demon's Abyssal skin, as he screams again in pain, much louder than before. The dagger misses the mark.

Bonuses: Inspiring word: +2 attack/saves
Flank: +2 attack
Bardic music: +1 attack and damage
Divine Favor: +1 attack and damage

Scimitar:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22/Dagger:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Damage:1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

The gnoll who made its save against the Entangle spell double moves outside of the range of the entangle spell (to K11). The entangled gnolls double move also, but at 1/2 speed, and they are still within the radius of the spell.

Brebork sees the demon and screams, "Since you won't charge me demon, I'll charge thee and show you the power of Sarenrae!" Infused by his god's blessing and divine energy, Brebork charges at the demon, skewering him with his longspear. However, as he pulls the spear out of the wound, Kezurkian's wound partially heals.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25/1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 damage

Eli tries to hide the grimice of pain he sufferd from the axe blow, and strikes at the demon again with a quick shuffle of his feet.

Round 2 action:

Bluff roll for feint 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

EDIT: Forgot I could now use the feint as a move action, added that to the post.

Round 2
Dumah will cast Flaming Sphere, directing the enchanted blaze to appear in K12. As a move action, he'll guide it to K11.

DC 16 Reflex save for the gnoll or he takes 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) + 1 = 13 fire damage.

Gnoll Save: 1d20 ⇒ 5

The gnoll notices the ball of fire and but is too slow to move out of its way when it engulfs him and sets him ablaze. His yelps of pain are deafening, as he runs back into the entangle spell, where falls down dead, the smell of burnt fur in the air.

male Human Cleric 5

Seeing the wounds in his companions sides, Bahiyy calls forth Abadar's blessing.

Channel energy, excluding the gnoll and the demon in the area of th channel energy2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7

Jarva reaches into his bag and pulls out another furry ball, which he throws behind Brebork. In its place, appears...a boar! Jarva instructs it to attack. Though in nature, the beast would never attack the outsider on its own, the magical compulsion is too much and it follows Jarva's instructions. It moves up and gores the demon, but the wound closes up, almost as instantly as it appears.

1d100 ⇒ 84
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23; Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Eli slahes the demon with Tempest, and again, the wound partially heals up. No need to Bluff for sneak attack, you have him flanked!

Kezurkian, bleeding pretty severely now, recognizes Quzman as the immediate threat with his aligned scimitar. You hear in your minds: "Quite a resourceful bunch, pulling pigs out of thin air, to attack me! But I am a schir demon! Feel my wrath!"

He lashes out with his halberd at Quzman, cutting him as he swings sideways across the chest (18 pts of damage). Kezurkian then spins the halberd around, coming in low and cutting Quzman, across his knees, dropping Quzman (another 18 pts of damage!). Kezurkian then lowers his head and tries to gores Eli with his horns for good measure, but misses.

Attack:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Yes, he is flanked and that gives us a +2 to attack and allows for me to get the sneak attack damage. But the feint if a success he also will be denied his Dex bonus to AC so if his dex is good I am hoping to make him easier for me to hit.

Forgot about that, cool! By the way, you auto-succeed with your +12 Bluff modifier, so no need to roll for it, just use the move-action and do it.

Gnoll saves for Entangle spell:

1d20 ⇒ 18
1d20 ⇒ 14
1d20 ⇒ 14

Gnoll who makes save moves to M11 (Quzman's square) and takes a swipe at the boar, cutting the beast.

Attack:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14; Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

The other Gnoll moves to L12 and takes a swipe at Eli with cover but misses and hits the side of the mill door.

Attack:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The last Gnoll double moves to K12.

Brebork tries to skewer the gnoll standing over Quzman's bleeding body with his longspear and decapitates the creature!

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23; Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Eli quickly spins and steps around the creature, his roguish eyes telling the demon he is moving one way, while his deft hands drive Tempest another. "You call that WRATH, feels more like a satin pillow! The Sand Stalkers will show you what true wrath is. We've got him where we want him friends, stay sturdy and we will thwart him in no time."
