Jameena Al'Qadr |

Jameena dances gracefully sideways around the two-headed giant, her scimitar moving faster than the eye can follow.
"Time to die, both of you." she taunts, trying to draw the attention of both heads so Eli can slip around and attack from the opposite side.

The_Gnoll_DM |

Quzman's Haste did run out so the AoO from the Ettin:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18...misses!
No AoO from the gnoll caster as she has no weapons in her hand.
However, there are 6 images of her, only one being real. On a 6, you hit her!
1d6 ⇒ 1...miss, image gone, now only 5 left!
Round 8:
Jameena's dance of death kills the ettin without Eli's help, as both its heads look at each other in horror, as the four eyes go lifeless and the body topples to the sand! Good to have you back JaceDK!
Dumah and Eli are up! Tide has turned...expected that poor Ettin to last more than 1.5 rounds!

Jameena Al'Qadr |

Even though her face is stained with smears of blood and blackened sand, and her hair is tangled and singed by fire, Jameena looks as beautiful and proud as any Keleshite princess as she stands besides her vanquished foe, bathed in the soft glow of her goddess' blessed light.
Her doe-like brown eyes look straight into Eli's blue ones as she sends the bard warrior a radiant smile. "Go!" she says, her voice light and soft as the desert wind. "Go, and show that rancorous mongrel bi*ch what it means to face the Sand Stalkers."
Good to be back, GM. And since I didn't make it into the Superstar Top 8, I'm a lot less distracted now.

Eli Wynnstock |

AC 26; hp 55/35
bless, haste, Inspire (round 5)
"They never learn, even with two brains this lug should have known that all who dare attack the Sand Stalkers will fail!
Eli leaps over the fallen giant and rushes over the sand towards the gnoll caster. Tempest flashes in the sun as Eli drives the blade towards her.
Move to AC11, Attack gnoll 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 Damage + Cold 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (5) = 12

The_Gnoll_DM |

Dumah's energy missiles streak toward Sheraza but just as they about to strike her, they seemingly crash into an invisible barrier and dissipate, leaving the gnoll caster unharmed!
Eli reaches the gnoll caster in a flash and correctly guesses who the true image is, but his blow is deflected harmlessly to the side by her arcane protections.
Gnoll's Turn:
A look of desperation comes over Sheraza when her giant falls dead to the sand. However, her zeal compels her to believe she will triumph where her father failed and she steps back 5', intoning magic and saying, "I have a few tricks of my own!"
Suddenly, a fog bank of greenish-yellow vapors appears from nowhere, covering the four of you, including Jameena!
Eli Fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12...fails
Jameena Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19...success!
Quzman Fort save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22...success!
Quzman and Jameena resist the nausea but find themselves disoriented in the fog.
Quzman is up to close Round 8 and then Dumah, Eli, and Jameena.

Quzman Garhani |

Quzman had charged to AC11, so Eli would have to be in AC12.
Quzman gags at the of the disgusting odor, and slowly moves forward to try and find the gnoll witch in the fog. "You can't hide from redemption, hag. No matter how hard you try, the Dawnflower will find you."
Move to AD12 to start. If I can see the gnoll from there, I will full attack to try and remove images. If I can not, I will continue on the diagonal until out of the fog, and look for the gnoll from there.

Quzman Garhani |

"The witch is straight out of the cloud from you good Eli. Follow my voice and you can see again!.", as Quzman takes a slash at one of the beasts.
Attack:1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 15

Jameena Al'Qadr |

Alerted by Quzman's call, Jameena moves toward his voice and the location where she last saw the gnoll witch.
Move to AE12. If I spot the gnoll, I will activate smite evil and attack, going for a flank if at all possible, even if it means staying in the cloud.

The_Gnoll_DM |

Quzman's blow targets the real caster but is deflected by the gnoll's magical protections.
Round 9:
Eli continues to throw up, as he moves out of the cloud.
Dumah casts Shield on himself
Jameena steps through the fog, following Quzman's voice. She sees Sheraza and decides to smite evil but manages to hit an image, reducing the total to 4.
Perception check: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Attack roll: 1d20 + 16 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 16 + 3 = 37
1d10 ⇒ 5
Sheraza's turn:
The gnoll caster sees her images being depleted and casts defensively, trying to ignore the threats around her. She sees the paladin as the main threat and says, "Let's see your god save you from this!"
Suddenly, a 10' wide pit opens up beneath Jameena's feet, and before she can react, she falls 50 feet down, screaming in pain as jagged spikes rip through her thigh when she lands! She could swear she hears laughter from up above. The pit walls are covered in spikes that make escape a painful option.
Concentration check: 1d20 + 5 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 5 + 4 = 21 vs. DC 19..success
Jameena's Reflex save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11...fails!
Damage: 5d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 1, 5) + (6, 3) = 22
"Guess she wasn't fast enough!" says Sheraza, as she looks at Quzman and moves inside the cloud at AC 13, provoking an AoO from Quzman, but the ranger guesses incorrectly, and strikes an image reducing the total to 3, and disappearing from sight within the cloud.
AoO: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 1 + 2 = 21
1d4 ⇒ 2
Hard to modify the map but there is a pit trap at AD/AE 11-12.
Quzman is up
Eli is still nauseated, throwing up (only move actions)
Dumah is at Y15
Jameena is at the bottom of a 50' deep pit, hp 13/61
Sheraza is nowhere to be seen

The_Gnoll_DM |

Since Eli can only move and Jameena will be either waiting out the spell or risk making impossible Climb checks with no ranks in Climb, let's proceed with Sheraza's turn! By the way, the Bless spell runs out as well as Inspire Courage!
Round 10:
Sheraza steps out of the cloud at AC13 and walks to AD15, seemingly unaffected by its poisonous fumes, and quite visible to all with two images left. She looks at Dumah and Quzman and says, "Thank you for grouping up, makes my job so much easier!" She casts a spell and another pit opens up in the sand under the wizard and the ranger! Dumah reacts quickly and leaps out of the way, but Quzman's fingers slip off the edge and he plummets 30' down! Luckily for him, this pit is not spiked. The mage, severly wounded, with the hot sun's glare on him, looks around and sees no allies, hears the bard puking his guts out in the distance, and three images of a smiling Sheraza licking her lips and baring her teeth in anticipation!
Reflex save for Dumah: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Reflex save for Quzman: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Damage to Quzman: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5) = 7
Need Eli's move action this round, Jameena's action, if any, and Quzman to finish up this Round. If you elect to try and climb, you either sheathe weapons or drop them.

Quzman Garhani |

Quzman curses himself for making it so easy for the gnoll, and slams his weapons back into their sheathes. He quickly tries to start to scramble up the slope, knowing that the wounded mage is now effectively alone with the dangerous witch.
Climb:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Eli Wynnstock |

With his head flush from the dehydration, and the taste of sand grit and bile filling the back of his throat, Eli stumbles to the edge of the pit Jameena fell into and falls on his knees beside it.
Move to AE10 or 11, which ever is the edge of the pit

Dumah |

Dumah will move to AC16 and use his bonded object ability to cast Elemental Aura with the acid effect. DC 17 reflex save for half damage.
Damage 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 acid. Also takes 1 acid damage and is sickened for each of three rounds.
He’ll cast defensively, DC 21. Concentration 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30

The_Gnoll_DM |

Summary of Round:
Dumah cast See Invisibility
Eli moved near the pit (I put you in AE9, AE10 is closer but the ground is sloped there and you would need to roll a Reflex save or risk falling in)
Jameena healed herself
Sheraza moved and opened another pit
Quzman sheathed his weapons and tried climbing up the wall but the coarse stone handholds were too small and he realized it was impossible for him (DC 25 Climb check)
Round 11:
Eli is still nauseated
Jameena is trapped in pit (DC 20 climb check and you take 1d6 damage each attempt from the spikes)
Dumah is up!

The_Gnoll_DM |

The gnoll caster is surprised by the mage's boldness to approach her and fails to move out of the way of his acid aura, which burns her and causes her intense body pains!
Sheraza Reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9..fails!
Sheraza's Turn:
"Feeling bold are we, human? Who needs an ettin? I am the Carrion King's daughter! Feel my wrath!" She intones magic defensively and her hand crackles with energy and electricity. "Come here, my pet, let me show you the might of my master!" Fortunately, for Dumah, her swing is awkward and he fights her off with his club.
Concentration check: 1d20 + 4 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 5 + 5 = 34...success!
Touch attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 - 2 = 4..miss!
Until Eli's nausea passes, this is really a 1-on-1 fight between the casters so Dumah is up in Round 12!

Eli Wynnstock |

Round 11
At the edge of the pit, Eli removes his slippers struggling to get the second one off his foot as another wave of retching contorts his body.
Round 12 Eli tosses his slippers down to Jameena, "Here...urp....use these....BARF!"
Slippers of Spider Climbing

Jameena Al'Qadr |

Round 11
Jameena applies another round of divine healing and sheathes her scimitar.
Lay on Hands 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) = 12
Round 12
Catching the slippers Eli drops, the still hasted paladin pauses a moment to further heal her injures, then pulls the enchanted slippers on her feet and sprints up the side of the pit, ignoring the pointy spikes that slice into her feet.
Lay on Hands 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) = 14
Climb damage 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Hasted, Jameena has a 40 ft climb speed from the slippers, not enough to put her on the surface.
Round 13
Jameena races the last of the distance up the spiked pit, then sprints across the sand towards Dumah and the gnoll sorcerer, drawing her scimitar and healing more of her wounds along the way. double move around the stinking cloud.
Lay on Hands 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7
Climb damage 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Staus end of round 13: AC 28 vs Sheraza, hp 37/61, 1 LoH remaining, haste, bless

Dumah |

Round 12.
Acid Damage for her starting her turn in my elemental aura: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6) + 3 = 11. I added +3 for the Intense Spells class feature. I'm not 100% certain it applies for this spell with its continuing effect, but I think it does.
Dumah will cast Glitterdust, DC 16 will save for reduced effect. I believe if I center it at the intersection of ab-ac 13-14, it won't hit anyone but her, though I'm not sure how far Jameena was able to get toward us.

The_Gnoll_DM |

Jameena is still in the pit in Round 11 so no worries blinding her.
Sheraza again fails to avoid the acid and screams in pain, as her fur is burned off! To make matters worse, she fails to resist the dust in the air and goes blind!
Sheraza Reflex save: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 2 = 9..fails!
Will save: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 2 = 11..fails!
Round 12: Sheraza's turn:
She lashes out blindly, trying to touch the wizard, the crackling energy still in her hands! Rovagug is watching and guides the hand of his servant, as miraculously, she grasps the wizard's arm, pumping electricity through his body! Dumah screams, as his body goes limp, and he falls to the sand, his body smoking. She then focuses on removing the glitter from her eyes till she can see.
Touch attack:1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 - 2 - 2 = 21...autohit!
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 74...none!
Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 3, 1) = 21
Will save at end of Round: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 9 - 2 = 16...success!
As Sheraza regains her sight, she sees the fallen wizard and looks around to see the bard finally stop vomiting. She steps 5' to AE16.
Quzman is trapped in the pit. Eli is no longer nauseated so he may act in Round 13 (he is currently on his knees and barefoot so he will need to stand first (move action). Jameena already posted her action for the round (by the way Bless ran out already), so Eli's action is up as well as Dumah's stabilization roll in Round 13!

Dumah |

Seeing the Glitterdust take effect, Dumah makes the mistake of scanning around for his allies. When his gaze returns to the foe before him, his clawed hand clamps down on him and sends a jolt through him. He remembers nothing else.

The_Gnoll_DM |

Actually, reviewing the rules..uh oh...bad news for Dumah, unless someone finds something faulty!
Touch Attacks: Some attacks completely disregard armor, including shields and natural armor—the aggressor need only touch a foe for such an attack to take full effect. In these cases, the attacker makes a touch attack roll (either ranged or melee). When you are the target of a touch attack, your AC doesn't include any armor bonus, shield bonus, or natural armor bonus. All other modifiers, such as your size modifier, Dexterity modifier, and deflection bonus (if any) apply normally.
Dumah's Touch AC is 10+2Dex+1 Haste..anything else? No armor bonus or shield bonus, even from spells, so I think it does confirm!
And the blinded condition actually does not give penalties to attack, only AC, so the roll is actually a 15 touch attack on the confirmation roll.
Additional damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 5, 2) = 15...which drops him to -17 and quite dead.

Eli Wynnstock |

AC 26; hp 55/35
bless, haste
Eli stands up and wipes the bile from his lips, then he sees Dumah fall, NOOOOOOOOO! He grips Tempest tight and rushes at the gnoll fiend, the hot sand scorching his soles of his feet.
Move action to stand; move action to get ten feet from her (not sure where that will put me since we are on the edge of the map and I have to go around the pits and avoid the cloud.)

The_Gnoll_DM |

Round 13: Sheraza's turn:
Sheraza sees Dumah's corpse and looks content, "One down, three to go father!"
She then looks up to see Jameena race up to her, scimitar in hand. "Too late to save your friend, I am afraid! But you will share his same fate!" The gnoll caster's hand crackles with electricity once more and she smiles. She tries to touch Jameena but the might of her god runs through the paladin and deflects her blow away! Realizing with two images left that she cannot take on the paladin in her powered state and the bard, she risks moving away, leaving herself vulnerable. Unfortunately for her, the paladin guesses correctly and slashes her across the back, spraying blood on the sand. In her wounded state, she prays that the bard does not end her life, and thankfully, he strikes an image, leaving two. She proceeds into what she believes is the safety of the cloud and disappears from sight!
Cast defensively: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 4 + 4 = 20 vs. DC 17..success!
Touch attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 - 2 = 16..miss
AoO: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 16 + 1 + 1 = 32
Image: 1d6 ⇒ 5...hit the real one
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 7 = 17
AoO: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 27
Image: 1d6 ⇒ 3...hit an image!
Round 14 is up!
Last round of Haste by the way! Eli and Jameena are up!

Jameena Al'Qadr |

"Run, you cowardly cur - it won't help you! Your life will still end at the edge of our blades, like your father's did."
As she hisses the challenge at the fleeing gnoll, Jameena rushes to the pit where Quzman is trapped, pulls off the slippers and drops them over the edge.
Edit: Don't know if you saw my previous post, but I changed my action after a quick re-reading of how the paladins detect evil works.

Eli Wynnstock |

Furiously Eli shouts at the cloud, "Daughter like father, a coward! The carrion cur fled and hid when he saw the end coming too, I expected no less from the offspring of a creature so weak. You should have seen the way he begged for mercy at our hands, the whimpering and pleading. The sobbing was so pitiful it was better to end his poor excuse for a life than to let such a impotent thing walk the earth!"
Eli shouts his taunts with Tempest at the ready.
Bluff Check 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30 Ready Action: Attack Sheraza on sight, moving up to 30 feet to do so.
AC 26, hp 55/35
bless, haste

The_Gnoll_DM |

Eli, you can't move 30' with a readied action, only 5':
Readying an Action: You can ready a standard action, a move action, a swift action, or a free action. To do so, specify the action you will take and the conditions under which you will take it. Then, anytime before your next action, you may take the readied action in response to that condition. The action occurs just before the action that triggers it. If the triggered action is part of another character's activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action. Your initiative result changes. For the rest of the encounter, your initiative result is the count on which you took the readied action, and you act immediately ahead of the character whose action triggered your readied action. You can take a 5-foot step as part of your readied action, but only if you don't otherwise move any distance during the round.

The_Gnoll_DM |

So since Eli is either Bluffing or readying an action, we will continue...
Round 14: Sheraza's turn:
The cloud dissipates and you see the gnoll caster standing at Z11. She cracks a laugh. As she spits up blood, she says, "I have taken the life of the wizard, stupid bard! You will remember my vengeance always!" With that she charges Jameena, her hand still crackling with electricity, but alas, luck is not on her side and she misses the agile paladin! Resigned to her fate, she awaits her certain death. However, before the paladin strikes, she does smile, as she sees the charred and still remains of Dumah at her feet.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 - 2 + 2 = 15..miss!
Quzman removes his boots and puts on the slippers, so that is his round.
Round 15 is up!
Haste is over. Jameena can full-attack, one image left.

Eli Wynnstock |

Eli sees the gnoll charge Jameena and rushes to squeeze her between himself and the paladin, his foot prints leaving an arcing line behind him. His eyes are filled with fury as he stabs at her with Tempest.

Jameena Al'Qadr |

Weary to the point of exhaustion of pointless boasts and threats, Jameena simply lifts her scimitar in silence and let's the razor sharp edge dance it's dance of death with the female gnoll.
Full attack - Smite Evil, bless, flank:
Attack roll 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 16 + 1 + 4 = 40
Damage roll 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Attack roll 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 1 + 4 = 32
Damage roll 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Probably pointless, but in case it is relevant:
Crit confirmation - primary 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 16 + 1 + 4 = 34
Damage roll 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Crit confirmation - secondary 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 1 + 4 = 35
Damage roll 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
In the unlikely event that she is still standing, Eli gets an AoO

The_Gnoll_DM |

With the smoke from the burned palm trees still fresh in the air, you look around to see much blood spilled on the sands this day: numerous gnolls, hyenadons, and even a large 2-headed giant! The Carrion King and his kin are no more but the price of victory was high, as you see the still corpse of your friend, Dumah.
What now?
