Naomi Chadwick |
Naomi looks at the cats and then at the front of the line ’well at least we didn’t get any vulgar comments from Jarvis’ ”Unless you boys are afraid that one of those cats is a familiar to the necromancer I don’t see any reason we need to kill them, Shall we continue, there appears to be a intersecting hallway up there.”
can we go up the hallway to the intersection?

Hagrym |

Hagrym shoos the kitties out of the way. "Watch out down here....them wererats will come looking for you, if you aren't careful!" He heads toward the intersection that Naomi spotted.

A reminder of the intersection:
The roar of water can be heard hundreds of feet away. The passage opens into a round room with a sunken floor. The funnel-shaped floor drops 20 feet to a five-foot iron grate. Sewage cascades down in a deluge from hundreds of angled pipes emptying into this room. Torrential water spirals around the room in a whirlpool that drains into an expansive underwater cave system that eventually empties into the Reaping Sea. A crumpled section of iron catwalk lies upon the drain, collecting debris from the whirlpool.

this is N 4 where we are at now, we have explored south and west of here, which general direction was the rat house from here? can we move north to the intersection above or is that way blocked?

As Hagrym steps on the rail-less, iron-mesh catwalk, he is stuck fast. It grabs him and starts moving him off to the exit to the east leaving a gaping hole in the bridge where whatever this thing was!
Roll init

"Woah! What is that thing!"
What knowledge would you want for identification? Arcane?
Edit: I immediately came up with like 4 inappropriate things when the cats were trolling, but being like 2 days ago it lost its luster! :'(

The mimic constricts Hagrym for damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 and drags him another 10' down the passage.

brvheart |

@Naomi, yes there is a gap. It is an acrobatics check. @Hagrym, you are stuck fast and yes considered grappled, but can return the attack with a one handed weapon @-2.

"Poor" Cyric |

Cyric pops open the potion of animate rope and sends a rope to grab the floating pair before they are out of range. "Ulatha help me hold onto the rope! Uh... Please."

brvheart |

'The rope can enwrap only a creature or an object within 1 foot of it—it does not snake outward—so it must be thrown near the intended target. Doing so requires a successful ranged touch attack roll (range increment 10 feet)' Thusly, as drinking the potion is a standard you will need to wait for next round to throw it.

"Poor" Cyric |

nice.... Ok well then I will move along the wall or catwalk to get as close as possible before throwing it with my move. Unless uthala can throw it while I hold the end on her turn. Probably a better shot anyway, I will ask her to.

brvheart |

Hate to say this Cyric, but it is a move action to pull a potion.

"Poor" Cyric |

oh duh
Cyric tells Ulatha to throw the rope at the mimic and Hagrym as they float away, holding onto the end.

Galerio |

"What in the void is that!"
Seeing the dwarf grabbed and hauled away Galerio quickly thinks of something that hopefully might help, casting Grease on the dwarf.
"Sorry for the sliming Hagrym!"

brvheart |

reflex mimic: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Well, it slows it down from getting away at least! Now they are greasy.

Naomi Chadwick |
I am assuming where the four is at is the location that is empty and needing the acrobatic roll
Naomi moves forward to where she can clearly see the mimic and Hagrym, instead of saying something pithy she just unleashes an Ear-Pearcing Scream
dazed/fort. save @ 14 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

brvheart |

Yes, the '4' is the now empty location.
fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

brvheart |

Uthala grabs the rope and attempts to jump the gap.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 4
She falls, but holds on to the rope.

brvheart |

That would require Dex which as you can see is not her strong suit!

Turvijagal |

Sorry for being tardy again. I had been planning on following right behind Hagrym before all this Mimic business (post #3759); oh well. I'll just assume that I fell back lost in thought or something when all this happened …
Turvijagal will run up to get beside Naomi and drop is backpack at that spot and get ready to help jump over the gape in the walkway. (next round, moved my icon on the map)

shandar milsap |

looks like cat caught a dwarf readies a force missle

Jarvis Ward |

Jarvis follows Turv over to the grate, getting ready to also make the leap over the gap.
Draws weapon and uses an AP to give it a +1, it stacks with the current enchantment.

Uhtala, as no one grabbed the rope, falls into the whirlpool damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

brvheart |

The rope who's end I have been holding?
With a) your 10 STR and b) that will not prevent her from dropping 20' down from where you are at. Someone in the middle needed to grab the rope. She is not dead. Not yet anyway. She is pinned however.
