With the blows that the two large brass men subjected Efreat to, you would have thought he was a goner. But when the shattered magical images cleared, the sorcerer still stood without a scratch.
Bahir stays focused on his opponent and his halfling flanking partner. With the now common Haste spell, he strikes out with lightning speed. This time, his blade cuts right through the thing as if it was soft butter and it collapses before him as a pile of scrap. (Total Damage: 48)
Continuing to step back, Mah'ysa calls upon the Dawnflower to send a wave of healing energy. Certainly welcome for the druid continuing to take wave after wave of molten brass. (Hazreem takes 15, everyone then heals 17)

The tentacles finally take hold and begin constricting around the legs of the brass men. (Each take 6 damage) Efreat steps back out of the reach of those great swords relying on his tentacles to hold them back. Turning to the one on Hazreem, he easily hits it with an bolt of acid. It causes its metal skin to start to bubble and smoke. (Initial Damage: 7)
Hazreem continues his assault, but he seems to have lost all concentration as he continues to swing with all his might. With a little more precision on his attacks, he might be able to hurt this thing. (All 3 attacks miss)
With his current target destroyed, Pae turns and sees an opportunity to sneak behind the second one. It turns and takes a swing as the halfling runs behind it.

Brass Man #2 Damage on Pae: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 9 = 21

He finds himself with his back to a large curtain of flame. If it wasn't for his ring of fire resistance, he would surely be getting roasted alive right now. Striking out with great haste, he rams his rapier into a major joint within the construct. It partially damages the thing, but not enough to cause it to cease operation. (Damage: 15)
The first brass man attempts to move forward, but finds himself stuck. He struggles against the tentacles, but can't seem to get itself free.
Brass Man #1 Break Grapple: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
The second one turns towards the new threat and begins attacking the halfling. The blade slashes down across the little one, slicing him up like he was nothing. (Total Damage: 41, if he fails the above acrobatics check, he is down at -8.)

Brass Man #2 Attack #2 Damage: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) + 9 = 25
The final brass man doesn't even try to fight against his tentacles and instead just fires off molten brass at the sorcerer.

The black tentacles lose their grip as Efreat hits one with more acid before retreating into the corner next to some of the empty chests. The acid on his first target continues to eat away at its shiny brass surface. (Damage to #4: 6 - Damage to #2: 3)
The druid focuses a little better and manages to do some damage to this construct, but only from getting the frost on his blade to interact with the thing's extremely hot surface. It sizzles as it makes good contact and the construct begins to creak as it moves. (1 hit, 2 miss, cold damage: 7)
Move: Steps to [R,10]
Dimension Door? Assuming K-10.
As Mah'ysa continues to step back towards Efreat, she sends another wave of the Dawnflower's healing energy. It heals all of her own and Bahir's wounds, and helping Hazreem and Pae look a lot better.
Pae appears to be on fire, figuratively, as he continues to jam that rapier into just the right spots to break these things down. After three solids strikes, it ceases all movement and stands motionless, it's great axe falling down and resting against the brass floor. (Damage: 46 - Destroyed)
With that one taken care of, the Paladin moves against the one Efreat just hit with acid, drawing the its wrath. It swings its great sword as he approaches and despite Bahir's best efforts to avoid, it just makes it through his defenses. (Damage: 17) Bahir strikes back and cuts deep with his blessed blade. (Damage: 12)
Brass Man #4 AoO on Bahir: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
Damage: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) + 9 = 17
Sardaukar: I noticed the second attack against Pae was still at the full +16, shouldn't it be +11 like earlier? Or do you just have something against halflings? ;)
Cut and paste error, I forgot to update the attack modifier after copying the line above. That means it was a 22 to hit and with Haste and Fervor, it misses. Pae gains 25 hit points as that was the big hit, putting him now up to 57 hit points. Thanks for catching that. Part of the reason I like to make my rolls public.
Free of the tentacles, the first brass man steps down and joins his fellow brass construct in attack Bahir. Using the odd angle, it can't reach around and even get close to hitting him with the first strike, but quickly corrects for that and slices right through the seams of his armor. (Damage: 17) The other one takes advantage of the close range to spray the Paladin with molten brass at point blank range. Luckily, the angle is wrong and not as much seems to hit as it has before. (Take 18 fire damage, Reflex DC15 for half)

Pointing for Hazreem, Pae begins zipping around the right side of the brass humanoid, but holds until Hazreem can get into position. Hazreem then blindly rushes forward to distract this thing to give Pae a prime opportunity. Praying to Gorzeh for his safety, he tries to draw its attention to him.

As another wave of healing spreads from the cleric, Bahir's righteous fury slices and dices the brass man before him like it was wet paper that sizzles from the touch of its frost. Then, the pieces slide apart and crash to the ground, leaving only one of these things left.

Bahir steps up next to the brassman and helps to put it down with his friends
DM Sardaukar
Pae: A 22 just misses, they have an AC of 23. Are you missing anything? Let's see, +1 Haste, +1 Prayer, +2 Flank, +15 Base. That's +19. +4 is 23! Hit! Damage: 1d4 + 5d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + (1, 3, 2, 3, 2) + 3 = 18
Stabbing and thrusting, Pae does more damage than originally thought (Total Damage: 28) as Bahir steps up to finish it off with Hazreem. Between the two of them, slice and freeze the walking chunk of brass into pieces. (Total Damage Hazreem/Bahir: 5 + 7 + 6 + 16 + 2 + 14 + 1 + 9 = 60) After collapsing, the metal continues to bubble and smoke as the sorcerer's acid eats away at it.
Things fall silent. Well, except for the roar of the curtains of fire to block all apparent egress and the sounds of the rubbery tentacles reaching for whatever they can grab hold of. And the timid meow coming from the head and two small paws glancing over the top of one of the knocked over chests in the northeast corner of the room.

Mah'ysa rushes over to the cat.
"Spooky! There you are kitten! Are you hurt at all?" She looks to see if the cat is inured.

Hazreem sheathes his scimitar and looks around him. "This must have been Jhavhul's initial arrival point, and he left these constructs as a welcoming party." He then takes out a healing wand and activates it while adding, "Did you say we are in the City of Brass, Bahir? Do you know anything of this place, Efreat?"

Efreat, I'm giving you a circumstance bonus as this also includes information related to your bloodline and backstory. So the below is from Mah'ysa's and Efreat's knowledge. Including for everyone to avoid the eventual copy and paste. :)
The City of Brass is known by many names: the efreet call it Fommok Madinah, the "Devouring City", while the djinn and marid call it the "Black Pit", and the fiends of Hell call it Almakhzan, "The Shining City". By any name, the City of Brass is the home and capital city of the efreet, the rulers of the Elemental Plane of Fire as far as their swords and magic allow. It exists as an enormous, shallow basin constructed entirely of glittering brass and suspended in an endless sea of flame. Souls that have been bartered away or captured by the genies infuse the city's living brass wall, which protects its inhabitants from the plane's severe fire and heat, at least enough so that mortals merely swelter uncomfortably instead of bursting into flames.
The city is kept habitable for non-natives so that the genies might keep servants and slaves and conduct trade with all the far-flung empires of the planes. This has been successful for them, as visitors come from throughout the multiverse to barter with and seek to outwit the efreet, though few can compete with the fire lords' shrewd acumen.
Non-efreet are second-class citizens in the City of Brass, with non-fire creatures ranking even lower. Without a special dispensation, planar travelers and other visitors are limited to the Galley Quarter and Grand Bazaar, for though their kind are looked down upon, the riches they bring are highly coveted. Any who are caught beyond these limits without the proper dispensation or the mark of an efreet noble are stripped bare and sold into slavery. Fortunately, many nobles make a healthy side business of selling notes and marks of passage to interesting, amusing, or properly fawning travelers, usually in return for great sums of wealth or upon the completion of some daring favor.
The Galley Quarter and Grand Bazaar are just two of the eight quarters found here, but the two most known about to outsiders. The languages of commerce in the City of Brass are Ignan and Infernal, and only a minority deigns to use Common. The Grand Sultan and the Grand Vizier co-rule the City of Brass, both positions filled with noble efreet.

Efreat, you recall a story or letter you read as a youth. You don't remember who it was from, maybe an old relative, but the content stuck in your head.
The City of Brass is a shining thing, bright as a new platinum ring, gilded and magnificent, a testimony of grand opulence and terrific majesty. The metropolis exists within a sea of flickering fire, a vast expanse of unforgiving and unquenchable hunger that only the efreet lords find congenial. The realm beyond the great walls may burn hot and bright as a terrible forge, but within them one must beware the immense variety of fiery creatures that call the city home, from the powerful efreet to the savage mephits, down to the poor wretches and beasts of fire who slave for their genie masters. The City of Brass sparkles like a gem upon the planes, but those unwary who attempt to make it their own find that it is no mere ruby, but a searing ember.
DM Sardaukar
As you discuss your situation and the marvels of the City of Brass, you find your own reflection staring back at you within the shiny brass walls. Then suddenly the reflective surface wavers for a moment and your own image fades away. It is replaced by that of a wide-eyed Garundi man with long white hair who immediately speaks to you.
"This palace is accursed, an inescapable trap devised by the grand vizier of the sultan's court. I have not the time to tell my tale, though a tale worth telling it is, but I too am a victim of this eternal prison and grow weary of its confines. We will speak again. If you would be free, then heed my words well, for we may each hold the key to the other's escape."
Before you have a chance to respond or ask questions, his image fades away and is once again replaced by that of your own.
Efreat: The above does not include genies, so no +4 bonus.
Hazreem Al'Shakar_1
Hazreem sighs, "It looks like Pae is right. From one inescapeable trap to yet another. Anybody know who by the Hells that was?"
DM Sardaukar
Searching through the mess of empty chests and boxes, it doesn't appear as if much was left behind. But you manage to scrounge up 61 sp, 52 gp, and 6 gems. (Adding to Party Loot's gold total)
"And another 'prisoner' to free from the place..this is getting rather repetitive isn't it"
There is actually a section in the beginning of this book entitled, "Managing Player Frustrations". :)
Recommend looking back at original post here for description of the room.

Appraise 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
"I'd agree with 400 apiece for the gems..doesn't do us much good unless we can find a merchant here.."
"The stuff on the ceiling reads 'Half or Triple plus One' and the arches are numbered 1 to 4 in Ignan"
"hmm..I wonder"
Pae approaches the archway numbered 2 alone
"The rest off you stay back I have a theory"
DM Sardaukar
Pae: Approaching the archway, nothing happens other than you feel much warmer than before. Your ring of minor fire protection prevents the curtain of fire directly before you from causing any immediate injury.
Efreat 'al Inferis
"1/2 or 3x plus 1. Math is often important but it makes no sense to me. The only thing I can think of is that half has the number 2, triple has the number 3, and one, naturally, has 1 in it. I'm not sure if that means we should avoid archway number 4 or use it."
Waiting for his companions to chime in, Efreat adds "Does anyone need any protection from fire?
Hazreem Al'Shakar_1
Hazreem replies, "Don't worry about me Efreat. I can take care of myself. As for which arch is safer to pass through, I was never good at these puzzles. I guess that arch is worth trying Bahir. Sure wish that ghost would show up again though."
