Should we start with Part I or with either Part II or Part III? I ask because Parts 2 and 3 will be phased out in August and I'm less confident than GM Shifty in my ability to maintain a fast pace.

(I should probably note that the previous post was made when I expected to pick up players from a First Steps game run by GM Shifty.)

I'm currently strongly leaning that way. The opening narration in Part 1 wouldn't make much sense if we came back to it. I'll just have to avoid critting anyone with [REDACTED]. :)

Checking in. I'd love to start at the beginning so my ranger could get his foundation. I know I could always pick it up. So when it's phased out, can we not run it?

GM Mother May I? |

We could still run it, but it wouldn't be an "official Pathfinder Society" game - any XP, treasure, etc. from it wouldn't count for PFS purposes. We'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

The only course of action that really seems to make much sense is to start with #1. I'd be disappointed to miss #2&3, but what happens happens. Seems like this is mostly to help familiarize ourselves with PFS anyway. Not to say it wouldn't be fun in its own right, but it is an introduction.

"That's four votes for Part 1 and one abstention. The motion passes." Bangs gavel.
I'll have the opening "getting to know each other" post up shortly. While everyone's introducing themselves, I'll give everyone's character sheets a once over.
@Riverfort (continuing the conversation from the other thread): We aren't in such a hurry that you couldn't play the bard you were planning. This is a Pathfinder Society game, so your character should use a 20 point buy, two traits, and start out with 150 gold pieces.

Yes, I need to purchase a skinning knife or some sort of knife, I forgot one.
You're in a major city. You can buy whatever you need between the briefing and whereever it is you're going.

Here's a picture of venture captain Ambrus Valsin. (Could you tell me if you can't see it?)
I can see it fine. Nice chops! :)

Playing on Halkale's low charisma, he's very uncomfortable in a group of strangers, as we progress he'll get more..verbose.
Also, the comment about the violence wasn't for the people we meet but to complete the tasks, perhaps there is a reason why they've asked for Pathfinder help.
Although, Halkale would never mention that part. Once in the woods or out of town areas, Halkale will become a little more assertive, he's just uncomfortable in town.

I completely get it, no need to explain. My character is just not the typical bloodthirsty adventurer, and he goes out of his way to show it. :)

We should be patient. I can't speak for everyone, but I've been really busy with finals this week and it seems to be a busy time for most others as well. And isn't the point of a PbP to be easier on everyone's time than a regular session? He said in a day or two, so it should be up sometime today.

My tablet needed to be returned due to poor performance and issues. I can't view the map at work, I'll have my new tablet on Friday. So it's a temporary issue, I'll check the map tonight.
Is one of us going to attack or do we wait until he notices us?

Abasi's going to wait until the whatever-it-is takes notice and makes an offensive move. If you guys want to take action and attack preemptively, go ahead. Abasi won't approve, but it's up to you.

Not sure I want to just start a battle, but I don't have a lot of knowledge on what it really is. My guess it's not nice, based on the discussion in the other room (and by I, I mean Halkale)
Not trying to be a pacifist, but at the same time, we have the drop on the not-human thing.
Anyone super object to me taking a shot?
Abasi and Halkale will just have to work it out, in a non-violent manner.

I am leaving for a long weekend on Thursday morning, to meet with my homebrew group of friends and RPG the weekend away. I'll be online and try to keep up with our frantic pace. ;)

More an attempt at humor and frustration for horrible dice rolling. I almost forget what it would be like to actually hit a target...or water when I fall out of a boat. ;)

Guys, I'm sorry, but I'm going to drop from this game. I'm tying up a character I'd like to play and honestly the pace is pretty unsettling. 2 1/2 weeks in and we are basically in the 1st round of the 1st encounter. Given that the GM is regularly active on the boards in other campaigns I don't feel like his focus is really on this one. Maybe my expectations are unfair, but I feel like one post per day should be the minimum for someone running a game.
Good luck to all, hope you do well!

Adakos is right, my heart just hasn't been in this game. Since he's leaving, Lyra hasn't posted in a while, and I can't see myself getting a second wind any time soon, I've decided to end this game. I wish you all better luck in your future gaming endeavors.

I wish I could say I'm surprised. I am glad it ended this way rather than just falling apart, however. I'd wish everyone good luck as well, but it might be a bit redundant by this point. You all have my well-wishes.
