Athrax moves into area getting a better view, a look of sadness as the fires dwindle in his eyes. Not wanting to waste a good bomb on a single little goblin Athrax spins his shortspear in the air and then launches it at the poor orange scaled goblin.
+1 Shortspear into melee: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 4 = 7
but his spear flys wildly to the side not even grazing the top of its bulbous head.

GM Hmm |

Athrax misses as well! Fazgyn and Skyrahk, what are you doing?

Pethjun whips around as she feels the wand pressing into her back, near ready to skewer the enemy trying to sneak up on her again. "Oh, No you ain't getti... Oh, Skyrahk! I thought you were a goblin!" With the slash on her tail healed over completely, she gives it a flex and grins. Good, the heal-ly one fixed my tail! Now I can really give this orange thing a beating!

GM Hmm |

“Eek!” The orange goblin drops its weapons. “Please kind lizards, me forced to fight you. Oh! You so regal! So powerful! Not worried about one small, feeble goblin?”
The Orange goblin looks at you with big eyes.
Combat over!

Engashez is about to bring her short sword down on the pitiful goblin when Skyrahk's words ring out.
Her arm pauses, she breathes, and silently admits that the cleric was right. Piss on Dahak she's right. Engashez drops her weapon to her side and addresses the little miscreant.
"Very well. You can thank her for your reprieve, little man." She wiggles her hand vaguely in Skyrahk's direction. "But make no mistake; we are not kind lizards. We are the Sewer Dragons of Absalom and we are to be feared! Now talk!" She sheathes her sword as she begins pacing in front of the goblin, rattling off a chain of questions punctuated by a 180 degree turn with each new query.
- "Who lives here? Just goblins, or someone else?"
- Who forced you to fight?"
- "People keep disappearing; are you doing it?"
- "If not you, who?"
- "Who is taking the duskwarden charms, and why? Who has the power to thwart them?"
- "And what were you thinking targetting a simple bard when you had a powerful fighter staring down your gullet?!?"

Pethjun gives Skyrahk the stink-eye for a second, ready to stab and slice the goblin that gave her the nice fathering on her shoulder. With a sigh of submission, she lowers her weapon. I forget the heal-ly one likes to do this. Fine. I'll play along.
She slides in behind the goblin, her rapier readied and tail razors causing sparks as she flicks it back and forth. "Don't answer her questions! I'd love the chance to make some soup from your bones!"

"Are you going to eat goblin? Can't be that starving, goblins not very good to eat. All head and usually over cooked."
Still leering at the small creature in front of her, Pethjun quips back at Vanarog. "Had it once, and turns out they make the best soup stock! Meat's terrible though. Greasy and gritty!"

"You had better start talking, or this will not go well for you. Answer my friends questions..."

“Aaaaaaaaaaagh!’’’ The goblin reacts to the intimidations. “Um... who forced me? THEY DID!”
He points to the other goblins. The dead ones.
Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Yep, he was lying about being forced.
“Me never want to fight grand and important lizards. Especially, lizards who have control over our entire cave where we used to live. No! Especially not lizards that take all the captives and all the loot and all the food.” Orange looks around from side to side before answering Engashez. “If you a bard, you’re the scariest one. The lizard who casts in the cave is the scariest for sure. So I was taking you out.” Then he belatedly remembers his cover story and points to the dead bodies. “Because they forced me to!”

"Lies! You call us great and powerful, and with the same tongue show that you think us stupid and weak." Engashez kneels down close to the goblin, pressing her snout close in until it almost touches the goblin's nose. It had been a long time since her ire had risen so high; sometimes it felt good to just be a dragon.
"Start speaking the truth or die where you stand. Who are the lizards? Tell us everything."

Pethjun narrows her eyes at the goblin, something seemed off about his story.

She moves as iff to start berating the goblin but is cut short by Engashez. She then looks over the goblin and his dead companions, her mouith slaivating over the thought of goblin stock soup, before an idea strikes her. "Oh, Vanarog! Did you get my 'mind message' to check them for magic items?"

![]() |

Vanarog reaches for the halflight charms in the goblin's pockets, half waving at Pethjun "I did, but I was way ahead of your thoughts, as usual. I've detected these charms." He raises his claw at the goblin.
"Tell us where you got these or I'll melt your eyeballs with my powerful acid magic, one at a time." He then proceeds to conjure a gob of said acid and sling it at him.

The terrified goblin states, “I picked it up because the lizards took them. There’s a lizard that casts horrible magics and traps and a hungry rock, and traps and a lizard that fights and traps and...” as Fazgyn sneaks off the goblin mutters, “Or you can ignore me. Me go now, okay?”
If not prevented from doing so, Orange runs off.
Meanwhile, Fazgyn fades off into the shadows, exploring. The stone walls of the next room are riddled with small cracks. The eastern wall is partially collapsed, its component stones scattered throughout the room and passage to the east.
Fazgyn peers in. Every surface of the next room is blackened with soot and several inches of ash coat the floor. The floor of the room is also noticeably warmer than the surrounding areas.

Satisfied in his victory, Vanarog goes back to letting his minions lead the way forward. "We should keep this moving. I feel like we be here weeks now and it making me very hungry." He taps his foot impatiently as he waits on Fazgyn.

GM Hmm |

Zing, Vanarog! BTW, if everyone does not check in by tomorrow, I am auto-rolling you into the next room. So we WILL forge ahead!

Vrolg |

Fazgyn shakes his head at the lying little goober and looks appreciatively at Vanarogs acid splash across the goblins backside. "Good shot!" he chortles, flashing a smile towards the sorcerer.
Carefully, he slips off into the darkness See above spoiler! before returning to the companions.
"The next room is hot.. and dirty. Like the whole room has been on fire but I didn't see anything specifically dangerous in there. I think its clear to move up and look in."
Fazgyn moves back to the hot floored room and slides inside, moving along the wall. He scuffs through the accumulated ash, stiffling a cough as the dust rises.

![]() |

"Yes, it was." Comments Vanarog at the compliment. Looks like Fazgyn has finally realized my superior lineage and leadership skills. I will remove him from my list soon enough...
Once the room has been cleared he heads inside to look around for maybe more of those glowing charms they've been tasked in retrieving. Hopefully some are attached to scorched bodies. "We must make sure this isn't a big cooking room for lost travelers yes?" He begins scanning for magic as he kicks the dust around.

Unfortunately, the initial perception checks failed to catch this very cleverly hidden trap. Almost like a kobold was planting it.

Sedoriku's Pregen of the Month |

Pethjun, displeased about the paltry excuses of flesh the goblins represent getting killed before she could do anything or getting, almost bursts into laughter with Athrax as the annoying one almost gets burnt to a cinder. *snicker* "Oh the Chief will love hearing about this one!"
After a second though her voice turns a bit darker. "Now maybe that'll teach you to get ahead of me next time! I'm here to keep you all alive and not crispy true dragons but I can only do that if you STAY BEHIND ME! Fazgyn the only one I trust in front of me," She points over to the unharmed little one, "'cause he can handle himself, and doesn't get caught by traps or goblins!"
With a snort she heads to the mouth of the next room, pausing only to let Fazgyn go scout ahead.

Fazgyn steps out from behind the stalagmite as Skyrahk moves up to heal the over done lizard-kin. He grins to Pethjun and gives her a small bow as the golden glow of healing magics flow over Vanarog.
"Wellll.." he draws out. "I did miss the trap.." he says somewhat abashed. "But thankfully only Vanarogs pride is hurt! .. Maybe his robes too."
With a bit of a snicker, he too moves to the next opening.

Engashez by Zin |

Since when do Sewer Dragons--the True Dragons of Absalom--let our enemies flee? That little runt attacked me!
Perhaps distracted by the fleeing form of the goblin, Engashez fails to notice the trap. She also fails to notice anyone entering the room, and fails to enter the room herself, thus saving herself from Vanarog's flamboyant mistake. She turns around just as the fireball engulfs the room; surprise blossoms on her face, and she quickly suppresses any visible evidence of the schadenfreude that she definitely felt never came close to feeling.
She stays close--but behind Pethjun--as the kobolds continue to explore.

![]() |

With great regret Vanarog opens one charred eyelid and looks up at Skyrahk "It is good you came. I seem to need your help with... this." He coughs out a plume of smoke and slowly rises to his feet, a bit wobbly still.
He digs in his pack for a small potion vial and drinks it down. CMW Potion, 2 Remaining: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6 It provides less sustenance than expected. Vanarog looks over to Skyrahk once more. "Do you have one of those healy sticks? It would be a shame to let the this genetic perfection die to another one of those blasts of fire..."
I find it very hard to come up with the words that are Vanarog yet are un-Vanarog enough to hopefully convince Skyrahk to heal him...

![]() |

"Excellent. The future of kobold kind thanks you." Vanarog says to Skyrahk before dusting himself off, checking on his beloved dragon staff for damage after he dropped it on the ground in his 'fall'.
He quickly scurries out of the room just in case the trap is super tricksy and resets.

Sedoriku's Pregen of the Month |

Wait, which way are you leaving the room? 'Cause Pethjun will try to stop you if you try getting ahead of her again!

Vrolg |

Satisfied that Vanarog is ack to his usual grouchy self, Fazgyn moves ahead with Pethjun to inspect the next room.
Sneek and peek rolls above

Engashez by Zin |

Engashez remains behind Pethjun as they advance through the caverns. With a withering glance towards Vanarog--the kind a mother might try to use to reign in her careless child--she urges caution as they continue. "No more traps! We know what we're up against now, so let's step light, step easy, and use our eyes, ears, and snouts!"

![]() |

Vanarog snorts "Don't worry I'll stay far away from now on. I just help you find what you miss after you look. It the best for everyone yes?" He trudges along. I'm gonna stay so far back you may not even see me!

Engashez by Zin |

Engashez is down 8, actually

GM Blazej |

Vanarog moves ahead with Pethjun right behind into a massive room with a massive cliff running the length. The opposite side of the room is ten feet higher than the ground you tread. It appears as though the room has been brooken and snapped in two.
Throughout the area Vanarog sees bones from variety of creatures about the room in forbidding piles as well as crafting tools but so doesn't spot anything attempting to lurk within the shadows.

![]() |

Vanarog peeks his head past grumpy Pethjun, careful to remain behind the woman "Tools yes? To make traps yes? Go look, go look. I'll stay here safe and advise you." He smiles and nods, the hood of his cloak flopping about. You get blowed up, not me!
Instead, he stays where he is and casts detect magic, curious to see if any more clever magic traps lay hidden.

GM Blazej |

Vanarog does find yet more magical auras alongside the cacophony that permeate this cave system.
Within the magic you detect a set of more defined auras emitting from a satchel huddled within one of the crevasses within the cliff wall closer the the center of the room.
